Halloween 2011. Oct 29th on the Magic

I have been lucky with my dog....thunder and fireworks dont bother him.
The dog we had before him hated both...so when Jack was a puppy, we brought him out and let him sit with us while we were watching fireworks on the 4th.....but because there were all these people around...he was walking around and letting everyone pet him....and didnt pay any attention to all the noise......he's such a people dog:laughing:
He's a 120lb doberman...looks very itimidating but loves people and thinks everyone has come to see and pet him. So he just sleeps thru the storms like I do :thumbsup2

Well have a good weekend all

:banana::banana::banana:

Too funny. I work with someone who has Dobes and they are not quite as friendly but my friend in Spring Hill has two of their puppies and they are the sweetest dogs ever. I took them down on a plane so she could have them. She got them for watchdogs but sadly, they only watch whoever pets them.

Vacuum is run already, still cool here. Guess the kitchen is next.

Check out those tickers - 2 months!!!!!

Thirteen more weeks! I think I finalized my packing list this week, at least I think so. Guess I still have lots of time to change my mind.

As this will be my families first cruise and we are going to be participating in the FE exchange I just have a couple of questions.

At what day do you close the list of participants? I have to order some of my supplies and it would be helpful to know the quantities needed.

Will there be a meetup during the cruise?

I know I had more questions but my DD5 is begging for some attention so I have forgotten them. I will try to post some more later.

Thanks!

Hi Desiree:

Ok, not sure on the FE, but this seems like a very small group and since we are so close to the cruise, I really dont think there will be many more....
I have been hoping to have a meet....I have put this out there a few times and a few are interested, so I think we should be able to have something before sailaway.....I know that we wont even get onto the ship until 2pm the earliest, at least that is my estimate, as we dont arrive in orlando until noon...so maybe around 3pm...which would be about an hour before the muster drill.... if weather permitting, maybe up on deck 10...I will put another message out and see what type of response I get.....:thumbsup2

Meet - I have 3:00 in the Promenade Lounge on my itinerary so I will be there.

FE - How early does everyone want to close it? I think that I would be OK with something as late as October 1st but I don't have to order anything either so that could be too late for others. How is September 15th?

So, those that could book last night, did you get everything all taken care of and I guess more importantly, get what you wanted?? I hope so. I had thought about adding the jet skis at CC and there were none available earlier this week.

Have a good day everyone! Stay cool!

Is it time to start packing?:cloud9:

Sorry, forgot to respond. At this point, I do know what I am taking, got that all figured out earlier this week so that is the most difficult thing about going to me. Getting it into the suitcases, other than I have to find the time since we are going to Ohio the weekend before we leave for a wedding will go quickly.

Booking last night/this morning is a nightmare! The system keeps telling me that more than one person is logged in and I know that is not true. I did all the things to correct it (logging out, clearing cookies etc) and it still doesn't work. I give up and will try later.

Yes, we got exactly what we wanted! We have Palo Brunch on Key West day and Palo Dinner on the 2nd at sea day - perfect!! :)

So sorry. It did that to me as well. I shut the PC down and went and watched TV for however long it said to stay out and when I tried again, there were no problems. Generally, my biggest issue is getting brunch and that is always the first thing I do.

Glad to hear you didn't have any issues.

Amanda called and got our parents eveything we wanted for them this morning since we had booked our stuff at the Platinum mark. So it all worked out.

I booked my last night, no problems with the computer....was able to get what I wanted.....we have Palo brunch on Monday....plus all my excursions.
So things went well.

On line checking done....:thumbsup2 good to go.....now all we need to do is go:woohoo: Ok pack first.

3pm promanade lounge, I'm there!!!! looking forward to seeing everyone..

Got everything done:cool1: When i called the castaway club they said that they were having problems a very nice person in IT talked with a supervisor and fixed my problem with the Palo Tea. This morning every time i pulled up one of the reservations it would show the wrong people(us on mom and dad and vice versa)

Here are my questions for the group:
I see above were meeting at 3:00 1st day I think that is great where is the question: I like the promenade lounge because if the weather is bad we dont have to move. Also meeting on Deck 10 there is no shade.

Are we doing any other activities together my suggestions:
1) PJ breakfast- This was alot of fun the the TA we just did, all we have to do is pick a day, time and where. We could even do a group picture.

2) Room Tour- We start in one location ususally 1 or 2nd deck and work our way up.

3) We did a few tastings together they set up a private group for us because of the size of our group but we all just decide which ones we would want to do and set an area that is just for our group

4) Book exchange bag, it hangs outside the cabin and people swap books as they read them.

5) Scrap book meet or jewerly making. I dont know how to do either but enjoy learning.

6) Homework group- I know i will have homework and i assume any of the kids will also. We could all meet in topsiders/beach blanket with milk and cookies.

7) post card exchange from where your from. We also did a candy exchange but since most of us are from the US not sure how that would work

Anyone interested in the above?

PJ breakfast - I am all for meeting up for breakfast but not so sure I want to do it in my jamies again. I did one on the 11 night southern and that was my only experience. Edited: if I can come in 'day clothes' I will be there.

All of the above said, I am all for a second meet at some point during our trip. One of our first cruises, someone didn't board until 3:45 due to flight issues and I never met her. I felt bad and so did she.

Room Tour - I opened our sideways cabin on the PC for our room tour. It is a great way to shop the different options if we have enough people willing and booked in the different categories. We are in a 6A (6652) and I am willing - and if we don't, call me and I will open my door anyway.

Private tastings, we are such a small group, if we could find out when they are being held, we could just book together.

Book exchange - I have a Kindle so I would have nothing to feed it.

Postcard exchange - LOVE this. We did it on our PC trip and it was really interesting to read about where everyone was from. One just needs to put a post card from home in everyone's fish.

OK, anyone else?

Ok, I agree with Gail, would not mind meeting up for breakfast, but not in my jammies either....

Postcard, does sound interesting, so do you write anything on the back, or just leave it blank....I can pick them up at the airport:thumbsup2

I think we are meeting in the promanade lounge....actually that is the best place to meet....3pm should be a good time.:thumbsup2

Gail: too freaky...Wally and I have room 6628...

Later
:banana::banana::banana:

That is it - we can do breakfast as a 'come as you are' meal!

Post cards - I put just our David and Gail on one line and glindamood on the other. I am super happy that I participated in that. We just need folks to sign up by a certain date and then we all go an purchase the post cards and pass them out whenever on the ship.

Not much else to report. HOT, even in the house. I have to take the grandpup home shortly so everyone enjoy there evening.

Here we are again - MONDAY! Only 12 weeks to go - 12 weels from today I will be pulling my hair out but I am actually looking forward to it. I will just try and be organized enough you won't notice any hair gone.

Well, stay cool and I hope you day is a good one!
