I like him, but I'm sorry, pro football player??? hahahaha.

Just as long as we get to see him take the jersey off at some point and be shirtless.

Sad to report, I was disappointed in this movie. Yes, we did get to see Ryan shirtless a couple times.

But Ryan wasn't well paired with Pascale Hutton, in my opinion.

It was mentioned that their characters were in college together. Yet, to me, Pascale looks years older than him. And because of that, Ryan kept some gray hairs growing in on the sides, so he looked too old to still be playing pro football.

Also, I didn't feel any chemistry and heat between the two. Which is one of the reasons we watch a Ryan Paevey movie. If anything, Pascale was too intellectual all the time. She had a dour look on her face most of the time, like Ryan was a math problem she had to solve, especially when he admitted to loving her back in college and how he still feels that way now. (<swoon-worthy!> So Ryan brought it on his side. But, come on, Woman! This gorgeous guy is admitting he still has feelings for you and you have a constipated look on your face much of the time.

That should have been a swooning moment for her which she was trying to emotionally fight, and thus for us, watching vicariously through the characters. But, nope, it wasn't there. It made me wish Ryan was back on General Hospital where we'd definitely get that sizzle, attraction and internal fight.

Sorry, for me, this movie could be renamed: Ryan Paevey and the Constipated Soccer Mom.

It's definitely watchable, just for Ryan. But dang! this could have been a better movie. I liked Pascale in My One & Only with Sam Page. But, this movie was quite a deflated fumble in casting.

I watched Guiding Emily. For the most part I liked it. I felt the story was different. Yet, I wish they had started the story later, like after Emily already had gone blind and was further along in her acceptance of her situation. Or maybe condensed that part down and skipped forward in the time line more. The story spent a LONG time focusing on the direct aftermath, when of course, she is naturally upset and not coping well. For a Hallmark movie, they spent a long time on her not coping well, a good half of the movie. I'm sure we all get that part. We don't need to see a blow-by-blow chronology of it all.

I would have preferred the movie focused more on her when she was adapting, as that's more uplifting. Still, it's a movie worth watching. Just fast-forward through some of it.

Out of curiosity I checked IDBM.com and yes Pascale is 5 years older than Ryan. I think her character felt much older than Ryan's. I didn't dislike it as much as some of you but it wasn't anything I'll seek out to rewatch.

If age differences bug you, don't watch Virgin River! There's a new romance this season and it's really bugging me as the female actress is 16 years older than the male actor.

I admit, I'm superficial. I like watching male eye candy in movies. I've watched Oceans 11-13 countless times, along with Top Gun and Troy and a few of the Hemsworth brothers movies. None of these movies above are Academy award worthy, but they are all rewatchable for the male eye candy. So, I repeat, putting Ryan Paevey in a movie I don't want to rewatch is a waste and a crime.

Finally finished this one. I had started it before I read your post, so I decided to really watch Pascale’s face. You are absolutely right! Honestly, I wonder if she wanted to be in this movie? She looks miserable.

The movie misses on the football level, too. He is way too old to be a star receiver. They are usually 25-29, and known for their speed. He clearly looks like he’s not moving that fast

As soon as I saw Steve Bacic’s long hair I knew he was the villain. They give him that look when he’s sleazy

I agree, this movie is one and done for me, too.

Getting in some more mysteries before the switch to Christmas movies, two HM&M mysteries series will have new movies this fall.

Hannah Swensen Mysteries: ‘A Zest For Death premieres on Fri, October 6.

Hannah’s mom Delores, played by Barbara Niven, discovers the dead body of a homeowner — a frequent customer at The Cookie Jar — while she’s house-hunting for Hannah’s sister, Michelle, played by Tess Atkins. Hannah is convinced that Mike and the local Sheriff are focusing on the wrong culprit, and her family gets involved in her sleuthing.

Lisa Durupt will return to her role as Hannah’s sister Andrea, who makes a surprise visit. Some fans have been upset that she wasn’t in the last couple of installments after being in the first five movies and is a character in all the books.

Curious Caterer: Fatal Vows premieres on Fri, October 13.

Goldy is hired to cater for a big wedding. The bride, Jessamyn Cole, is the ex-wife of Goldy’s “current romantic interest,” Detective Schultz. But before the wedding, the groom, Sterling Clearwater, is found dead and Jessamyn is missing. In addition, there’s a new detective, played by Brock Morgan, overseeing the case and he has “a vendetta against Tom.”


“Forced to take matters into their own hands,” the synopsis says, “Goldy and Tom must find Jessamyn before she meets Sterling’s fate.”

If you are into podcasts, Hallmark will have it's first ever podcast as part of it's Mahogany brand. Hallmark's Mahogany brand started in the 90s as a card line created to reflect and celebrate Black culture. Two of the eight Crimson Hearts Collide episodes will drop on August 24 wherever podcasts are available, and then the last six will be released weekly each Thursday.

Soul Food actress Malinda Williams will play Sonora Williams, a top New York City lawyer who learns she’s inherited a farm in Alabama from her now-deceased uncle — a huge surprise given that she grew up in foster care thinking she had no blood relatives. To get answers, the synopsis reads, she must “meet the people who keep the farm running, including the handsome cowboy Zeke Summers, who immediately captures her attention.”

Summers is played by Keith D. Robinson, who co-starred in the 2021 Hallmark mystery Redemption in Cherry Springs and in both Sister Swap movies that year with Ashley Williams and Kimberly Williams-Paisley. Comedian Amanda Seales, best known for the HBO series “Insecure,” is also part of the cast.

With this new podcast series, Hallmark hopes to tap into the ever-growing market of podcast listeners. According to marketing data organization Demand Sage, there are 100 million active podcast listeners in the U.S. in 2023.

True crime is the most popular genre but, according to Time Out, fiction podcasts focused on science fiction, mystery and horror stories are gaining in popularity. In 2021, podcast producer Acast reported that listenership to its fiction podcasts were up 427 percent, more than any other genre. PodNews reported in 2022, that fiction podcasts were by far the most likely type of podcast to be listened to completion, meaning that listeners were drawn in enough to listen to the entire story.

So one of the Miracles of Christmas movie is Miracle in Bethlehem, PA. I have some issues.

Successful and fiercely independent, Mary Ann Brubeck (Vandervoort) adopts a baby girl to raise on her own just before Christmas. Due to weather, she and the baby get stuck in Bethlehem, PA for the holidays. When there is no room at the inn, her only option is to stay with the innkeeper’s brother Joe (Ayres), a quintessential bachelor who lives in a house that he treats like a barn. As Mary Ann learns the value of community by spending time with Joe’s family and participating in the local church’s Christmas events, Joe starts getting his act together with new motivation…and the two begin to see each other in a new light.

1. Oh look, another successful independent woman finds love in a quant town.
2. It's being filled in Winnipeg.
3. The main characters are Mary and Joe.
4. "No room at the inn". Come on, seriously? At least the adopted baby isn't a boy named Joshua...
5. "the local church’s Christmas events," How big does Hallmark think Bethlehem is? Y'all think a city of 75,000 has one church?
