Hallmark Movies ❤️ comfort & joy

I don't know if anyone has posted this, as I didn't read the whole thread, lol. But Netflix has a lot of the Hallmark type holiday movies. A few includ Christmas with a View; Christmas Wedding Planner; and Christmas Catch. I don't watch these kinds of shows, but saw the thread while I was browsing on Netflix. :happytv:

Thanks. Last year, Netflix had a good Christmas movie that starred Brooke Shields in Ireland. Netflix can afford better writers and better locations. Hopefully this year's movies are on the same level. Lindsay Lohan's Netflix movie just premiered yesterday. :santa:

Dad and I finished watching A Kindhearted Christmas which overall we enjoyed. We also agreed that after 2 hours toward the end, we were glad to hear Christmas Caroler's singing to and acknowledging Jesus. I loved that Jamie wanted her acts of kindness to remain anonymous. As I have shared, for me, that the most blessed way I pray to be of tiny service. I didn't care for the deception once she knew Scott truly wanted to know who the town's Secret Santa was. IMO she should have told him trusting that he would respect her wishes, which he sure kindly did, to remain anonymous. Didn't like that Kylie, her niece, David, Kylie's husband along with Jamie's friend Colleen encouraged in a way Jamie to continue to mislead Scott. Loved that the town's mayor quietly thanked Jamie at the end, letting her know he knew she was the Secret Santa. It was also dear to my heart how touching Scott's end report was.

Right now, during the ongoing pandemic, taking time to let those God has trusted us to love and care for that forever above all else that God loves and is with them. They are never alone. And that also, they make a difference to us, and we give Him thanks for their presence in our life with love and care, means more to me than ever. May each of you let someone you care for or love know that you do. I thank you for doing so!

I thank each of you especially Imzadi who started and almost daily keeps this thread updated, for sharing friendship, faith, and Christmas spirit through your movie reviews. Enjoy watching a good movie this weekend. Sweet dreams to all tonight.

The trailer looks good.

There are also good foreign language Christmas movies on Netflix too. One is getting a sequel this year.

I also like the Princess Switch ones too.

I like Lindsay, or at least I used to. But Chord Overstreet drives me nuts.

I just watched In Merry Measure. I really enjoyed it, lots of holiday carols. I thought the end was satisfying and appropriate for our romance 🥰 I wouldn’t mind seeing Patty Murin as a lead again, and Brendan Penny is always a delight.

Just finished The Royal Nanny. I liked it. It was cleverly written and different. It kept my interest throughout to see how things would turn out. I will be watching it again. :thumbsup2

Count me as another one who didn't care for A Maple Valley Christmas. I agree with Worfiedoodles:

That said, Andrew Walker is getting a bit old to play a character with those issues. He is one of the best actors Hallmark has, so hopefully they will give him more believable challenges for his age.

He's played this kind of role before, so he can do it. But, his age is showing. It's a part for someone 15-20 years younger.

I felt that while the female lead was beautiful, it didn't make up for the fact that she seemed too remote and detached and angry at everyone and everything all the time.

When Harper’s own gift lands in the hands of a leading internet entrepreneur, Jason, he’s convinced that the original Santa might be his soulmate. Watched Jolly Good Holiday - I didn't find the American accent quite as bad as I thought it would be. Yes, his "american" accent still had a bit of British ring to it, but people working internationally can often pick up a bit of an accent. I thought the show was pretty good.

Also saw In Merry Measure. I liked it. I thought all the singers were pretty good.

We started watching Love at the Christmas Contest yesterday afternoon. Spectrum went down last night so we will pick it up again later today. I was enjoying it so far So glad you liked it, Bobbiwoz  Wishing everyone a wonderful Sunday.

You are a better person than me. :thumbsup2 I would still like to see Reshma Shetty (the female lead,) in another Hallmark movie.

I started watching Merry Swissmas, but had to stop. The whole show - acting, dialogue and storyline was just sooooooo plodding along it was driving me crazy. It wasn't until a hour into the movie that we found out WHAT the conflict was.

That one's off my "must watch" list.

I also watched The Royal Nanny.. I thought it was really good. Definitely makes my "must watch" list. It was only incidentally set at Christmastime, but the storyline was good.

I love the leading actor, he's a cutie! The movie was ok, predictable ending. Am I the only one who kept thinking that the actress could have been Jodi Sweeten? I kept expecting Jodi each time I saw her from the side/behind. The actress was good but not who I was expecting.

The lead actor is another cutie! But the movie and lead actress fell flat for me. I only watched parts of it and ultimately changed the channel.

The Royal Nanny was ok. I didn't catch the entire movie but there were parts that made me roll my eyes. The slight adjustment to names and locations that were similar to the British Royal family; Frogmore House instead of Cottage :rolleyes2 But the concept that the nanny was secret service type was different.

I also kept thinking it was Jodi Sweeten! I had to check the credits to make sure. I did enjoy the movie well enough. It was nice to see a slightly different formula in that they weren't previously sweethearts.

I liked Royal Nanny, though I hadn't planned to watch it. I didn't think the premise looked like fun but it did end up being enjoyable.

And one last night I can't remember the name of, but was set in New Orleans, a famous singer and her ex got caught in a photo that looked like a proposal. I enjoyed it, though I found it odd that New Orleans looked so cold, they had winter coats and such on and I thought it was warmer there all year, but I could be wrong on that.

Canada is, as always, playing the movies in a slightly different order and time, but we get them all eventually.
