You are welcome! I think this stuff is fun!
I got an email from
Albertson's to get a letter from Santa for your child.
The site says “Click on the start button at the site, create an account, complete the information, review the letter, and hit send. You'll receive a PDF letter and envelope in your e-mail that is ready to print out and place in your mailbox.” It is available in either English or Spanish.
I created an account and filled out the form for my grandson. It asked for my address. Then it asked for his name, address, and birthdate. I used my address and made a birthdate up for him.
The form asks for pet’s names, boss’ name, what the child wants to be when they grow up, and if there is a chimney at their house. I didn’t fill in any of that.
This is what the preview letter said:
“Merry Christmas and Greetings from all of us here at the North Pole! I just finished my last bite of cherry pie and was saying to Mrs. Claus how much folks like you inspire me every day. Young-at-heart friends who still believe in the Spirit of Christmas regardless of age are wonderful! We both chuckled thinking about it. I had been writing letters to the children of the world and realized that I needed to take a moment to say “hello” to one of my grown up kids, too.
Of course, I know Christmas can be a challenge with everything that needs to get done during the holiday season. Just because I’m Santa Claus, don’t think I can’t relate! Why just last week I took the reindeer out for a practice run and we were losing altitude so fast that Rudolph almost undershot the landing. It was quite a hair-raiser, let me tell you! Then, just yesterday we learned that one of the elves in Shipping had ordered five boxcar loads of 20-inch boxes while another elf in Giftwrap had ordered an equal load of 20-inch wrapping paper. The poor Wrapping Team was trying to cover the sides of the boxes with scraps! It wasn’t pretty! We had to place a rush order with Fed-Ex in order to make our deadline. Today Mrs. Claus realized she’s been using fat free margarine in her Christmas Cookies (between you and me, I wondered why they tasted strange) and now my suit is hanging off me like a giant empty Christmas stocking. Luckily, Mrs. Claus is correcting the problem with extra helpings of pie. Ho, ho, ho!
Well, (grandson), this has been fun. I look forward to stopping by your house this Christmas Eve and slide down your chimney with your goodies. Mrs. Claus wanted me to remind your family to give you a great big hug from us.”
And it included an envelope that looks like it has been cancelled at the North Pole. It had my address on it, since that is what I provided. After you click “send” to have the letter sent to your email, there is an option to create another letter at the bottom of the site, below the links to print Coke, Oreo, and Ritz coupons. (Looks like you can print out two of each coupon)
The email you receive is from Albertson's and says "Your Letter from Santa" in the subject line. It has the letter and envelope in two separate .pdfs to download.
ETA: I just opened the .pdf letter and there is also a free DVD rental code included (below the letter) for Albertson's Redbox. It is good thru 12/31/2014.
