It's beginning to look a lot like...

With temps at 90+ today, the Hallmark stores are getting ready to unveil their 2007 Christmas ornaments.

What are your yearly favs?

I used to be a serious Hallmark Ornament Collector when we first got married. Now, I only pick up one here or there that I think is cute and the only series I keep us is the At the Ballpark series for DH and the Child's Age Collections ones for the kids.

Have fun at your local premiere. They're always a blast!

I collect the Snoopy Series, I've done all the peanuts since dh and I have been married. Each year I must also have the Wizard of Oz ornaments, not a numbered series, I just can't live without all of them. I had the originals in my kitchen for a long time on a board that said "there's no place like home". I also have the bears on trains for each of the kids.

I also pick up most of the Disney ones and any others that look cute to me. The day after Christmas I pick up lots for half off too. I have a Hallmark Ornament addiction. They have their own special tub so the boxes will stay nice. I need help.

Collector here! Among others, I get Puppy Love and Mischievous Kittens each year. Past favorites include Mr. and Mrs. Santa. New faves are Noelville and Beauty of the Birds.

Of course I always end up with a Disney ornament or three. ;)

What are your favorites?

I collect the Snoopy's also. I thought with the death of Charles Schultz, they would dwindle but they haven't. I've got so many that I bought a second tree that is totally devoted to the Peanuts ornaments, although not all are Hallmark. They're cute but I'm running out of room.

Star Wars for the DSs! Jack Skellington for DH. And assorted ones for me! Can't wait until Saturday!

I think I'll be getting Jack Sparrow & Tinkerbell on Saturday but sometimes I change my mind after seeing them in person rather than the pictures. My 13yo DD won't forgive me if we don't get Jack so I'm sure he'll be one of them. I've taken my displays down while my house was painted, I've been trying to get motivated to get at least one wall done before the weekend.

I always get the firefighter ones for my husband, and the rest I just pick and choose.
My Mom was getting me all the Winnie the Pooh book ones. I know they still have them, but I haven't bought any since she died-so my collection ends with 2002. Just didn't feel right buying them for myself.

She used to buy everyone in the family an ornament and then at Thanksgiving dinner she'd put one by each plate and you could figure out where you sat by which ornament you thought was yours.

I have a book lover one that I bought within the last few years that I like a lot.
I always enjoy the Mom/Dad/Son/Daughter ones.
I usually get DD a Barbie one.
I like the Mickey & Minnie ones, DH usually puts one in my stocking.:goodvibes

Thank you for the reminder.
The crappiness of this day has just been forgotten!:goodvibes
Can't wait to see them in person this weekend!

I've gotten my husband a Snoopy Hallmark ornament every year since we've been married(1999), and a couple before we were married, too. Needless to say, our tree mainly looks like a Snoopy tree now.

I tend to buy mainly just the series ones...my favorite new ones are Noelville, and the new door series that is starting up this year looks neat. I will probably start getting that one. One of my favorite series has been the window series for Club members, I hope they continue that one for a few years.

In addition to series, I usually pick one "family" ornament which represents something about the year (last year was the "new home" one since we bought our house). I also let DS pick one of his choosing now that he's older, like the above poster he used to be the recipient of the bear train series until he passed his 5th xmas ;)

My only problem is I'm getting WAY WAY too many now that I've been collecting for about 9 years....it's probably a good thing some of my early series have ended and they seem to be dwindling down on the number of new ones I actually like (plus doesn't it seem like they don't have nearly the same number of different series going on at the same time these days?).

In any case, I'll be stopping by Hallmark on Saturday! :)

I know what you mean.

I plan to go on Saturday. We started collecting them when we got married in 1988. In fact, we bought Our 1st Christmas Together ornament while on our honeymoon. We have so many ornaments now. :scared:

I was a serious collector for yrs and then got bored with it. Sold almost everything except our very special ones. Im into the Radko and Waterford ornaments now but I always get a Mom, Dad and Son one and then of course for my little one the Yr ornaments, but last yr was the last one :sad1:
I have been collecting the Jack in the box ( for my ds Jack) ones since they came out and this yrs is TIgger in a box WOO HOO... because we will be in Disney right before xmas , so it is very appropriate.

I cant wait to see everything in person!!!!
I havent picked up the catalog yet, so DH is stopping right now on his way home so i can look at it.

I'll be there!

My grown DSs have their ornaments at their homes now. It was wierd seperating those so they could have them! I always got the sports-player ones for them when they were little. We kept them in their boxes, and I wrote their names on them. One year, I was having a hard time finding a sports one for younger DS - saw a volleyball player and thought -well there's something different, even though he doesn't play volleyball I'll get it for him. Well, that didn't go over too well, since it was a GIRL reindeer volley-ball player! He asked if I didn't see what was on that reindeer that made her a woman!

We have a huge selection of Disney Hallmark ornaments and I also collect the I Love Lucy ones & carousel & rocking horses.

I collect them! I get the nostalgic houses and shops series, the family photo frame, star wars and more every year! I have been collecting for awhile. Ebay was the best thing to come along when I missed one in the series!
I also have the Barbie series and Gone with the Wind!

Some helpful hints and reminders from my Hallmark employed wife who has been living, eating and breathing ornaments since the shipments started arriving 10 days ago...

If you want the LE ornaments like Mirror Mirror on the Wall (evil queen), BE AT THE STORE AT OPENING! Her store got a whopping total of 4. This is it for these ornaments and they will not get more in. Other LE ornaments being released are a special Lionel train, a set of 3 mini rocking horses, the Tuskan Raider from Star Wars, Leiutenant Ohura from Star Trek, a special ed of Poinsettia Fairy, a special ed of Snow Buddies and Toto's Great Escape. May be a couple that I forgot.

There are Gold Crown Bonus points galore this weekend. If you buy 2 or more ornaments, you get 100 points per ornament. For every 5 ornaments, you get an additional 500 points. So if you buy 10 ornaments, you will get 2000 bonus points in addition to the points earned on the dollars. You get ANOTHER 100 additional points for each Disney themed ornament you buy.

There is a Disney mug promotion this weekend. They have mugs with Mickey, Grumpy, Eeyore and Tink on them for $3.95 with the purchase of 2 Disney ornaments.

Ok, I just went to the Hallmark website & couldn't find the answers to these 2 questions, what is "LE" and what do you do with the Gold Crown points that you earn? After you get X amount of points you put it toward the purchase of an item?

I get the Gone with the Wind ornament every year. I'll have to check out the Hallmark website to see what this years ornament looks like. :)

I took over my Mom's Frosty Friends collection when she died 10 years ago and we still get one every year in memory of her.

LE = Limited Edition

Sorry I don't know anything about the points because all I ever buy from Hallmark are the ornaments.
