We've never stopped at the Hall of Presidents b/c I assumed it wouldn't be interesting to us. My kids found the excitement around Obama's election very interesting, and of course there's the whole animatronics thing...so I'm wondering if it's worth a stop. What's the drill, is it a walk-through or a show, or a ride...i.e., can we skip the majority of it? Or if not, will it put us all to sleep?

The boys are DH and DS! DH did not want to go to HOP and DS really wanted to go to TSI. We compromised...

DS also watched the elections, he's 11 and we all will be going to the new and updated HOP in September...guess I could have elaborated more, but neither of them have an opinion for me to offer!

I haven't been since the latest rehab but I found it pretty boring. It was over-the-top patriotic, I found. However, the AAs were great and I was impressed by them.

We will go during our next trip to see Obama. Otherwise, we wouldn't return. Until recently, we were two childless adults so I can't say how children might respond.

As with all things Disney, I recommend giving it a try for yourself.

Thanks for asking this question. We were just discussing this last night as we have never tried it but were wondering if it was worth the time.:thumbsup2

The answer to "Is it worth the time" depends on how much time you have. It is definitely an experience which will be more appreciated by our American neighbours but we found it interesting. However, unless you have at least two days to spend at Magic Kingdom, I wouldn't spend the time. Make sure you see everything else first and then visit if you still have time.

That's kind of what I figured, given the descriptions I'd read.

Thanks, I'll use that as a guide. We do have two days, but I can't imagine we'll get everything done. And really, the kids just have some idle curiousity about Obama. It is a show per se, then, you have to commit to the whole thing, you can't just pop in on the bits that interest you? (I'm thinking of the way you can wander through Innoventions and stop at different displays or skip others...) Maybe if we're hot and need the a/c!

I suppose you could leave in the middle of the show if you got bored but it's not at all like Innoventions. It's more like one of the 4D shows or any of the shows at Epcot's WS.

I haven't gone into that ride since I was a kid, but I don't think pop-in pop-out is a possbility. I think you'd just be allowed to leave early, that's all. It's a theatre, after all.

We went last November and enjoyed it. We had not seen it in over 10 years and DD did not remember it. She was glad she went since it helped her with her Grade 11 American History course. Since we go during school we always try to do some school related attractions. We also enjoy the green house ride at the Land pavillion in Epcot. The HOP also is a nice spot to sit and relax in a cool environment. It is very patriotic and my daughter said it made Manifest Destiny make total sense.

I love history, even American, and DS11 has a lot of interest as well. We will definitely be checking it out ourselves. It was going through its refurb. last Dec. when we were there so we are looking to seeing what it is like on this trip.

If nothing else, it is air conditioned and dark so it is a good place to have a nice rest.
