I know this is a very patriotic presentation for Americans- have you seen it and do you feel you and your kids got as much out of it not being American (or knowing as much American history)- I have a 12 and 6 year old and just wondering whether I should put it in our touring plans or not- thanks so much for your opinions- Jen[/B]

I saw it a couple of years ago.
I remember being bored by it, I don't remember if I actually watched it, stared at the ground waiting for it to be over, or I just slept through it.
I know my dad did.
Some people might like it, but it held no interest for me.

Heh, what a coincidence, I just posted this exact question in a thread on the Theme Park board about a minute before I saw this thread!

I think its more of an interest to Americans.
Its not something I would go again and again to....but maybe once every few years. I wouldn't go as far as to say its boring....but lets just say there are tons of other more interesting attractions at MK.

The animatronics presentation at the American Pavilion in Epcot is great, more entertaining than history lecture, and has very impressive animatronics actions (the guy with the lasso still amazes me).

It was a great nap. However the couple behind me were very upset that I fell asleep. They even said that I should be ashamed of myself for falling asleep as an american. ( I didnt correct them that I wasnt) In my defence I was almost 3 months pregnant....
I did go to the American pavillion at Epcot this past trip and liked it better. The singers in the pre-show down stairs were amazing.

My kids liked it last year. I hadn't seen it for about 20 years!

It was interesting to see the crowd reactions when they introduced the different Presidents at the end.

There was a definately Democrat vs. Republican vibe going on!

;)

My seven year old daughter and myself saw it this February on our first trip to Disney. We followed the Unofficial Disney guide 2 day touring plan and it is listed on it so off we went.

It was really hot and the waiting area was cool and quiet. We sat on the floor against a wall which was great on the feet. The show itself is nothing special and the animatronics are not really that impressive. To be truthful you can really see the Americans get in to this sort of stuff and it makes you think about the differences between our two countries.

Per the touring plan it was perfectly timed to calm everyone down and relax before the next set of attractions. If its busy and you are feeling fine then I would skip it !

Sounds like a Carousel of Progress type thingie. Hated that show with a vengeance. But Carousel of Progress seems to have a strong following with many people. I think it's a poke-your-eye-out-with-a-pencil kinda show. Sorry in advance for the people who like it.

We have never been in it and probably never will we have no interest in the attraction. My sister and brother in law who hapens to be American saw it and thought it was really corny and he said it was a terrible representation. That helped solidify our decision to not bother with it.

I remember going as a child and asking my Mom why all the presidents hung out at Disney.

I still like going once in a while. I love the animatronics and I think it's cool how each one nods, shifts, twitches etc...

Only go if you have the time.
