Does anyone have any information on what the fees are for the Halihali shopping shuttle? I have searched for prices and all I can see are references like "for a fee."

If anyone is there now or has recent information they can pass along, I'd be most grateful. :thanks:

I just asked for you at concierge. The cost is $30 per adult, $25 per child 2 to 11 years old. There are 3 pickup times (9:00 am to Ala Moana Shopping Center, 11:00 and 1:45 am to Waikele Outlets, Ala Moana, and Duty Free Galleria in Waikiki; return times are 12:25 and 7:20 from Ala Moana; 12:45 and 7:00 pm from Dfs in Waikiki; and 8:15 pm from Waikele. This is round trip or one way.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I was just going to call the resort myself. The prices seem okay, but I certainly do not want to spend that long (8 to 10 hours if I'm reading the schedule correctly) shopping in Waikiki! Not with a 6 year old, anyway. Guess I'll figure something else out.

Is there a reason you don't want to rent a car? Parking at Ala Moana is free. Waikiki isn't really a shopping destination, neither is Waikele unless you live on Oahu (at least to me - we have the same outlet malls here in Maryland, so I don't go to Hawaii to shop at those stores like Old Navy, etc...). I only go to Ala Moana if I need something or want to eat at Shirokiya which is fun.

Waikiki is fun for a day of people watching - you can park at the Hale Koa garage even if non military (we used to be but aren't any longer) for an hourly fee.

There is parking on the other end of Waikiki near the aquarium, which is cute.

I'd ditto what happymommy said.
Shopping at Ala Moana is just like shopping at any other big, upscale mall. There are a few specialty shops, but they're not really worth a day trip to the mall. Waikele outlets are exactly like every other outlet mall on the mainland.
