Cher was and is outrageous. That type of costume suits her. The other one looks ridiculous. I was actually embarrassed for her. As I was when she performed on A I.

I think that some women actually enjoy being sexy and strong at the same time. I don't believe that it's always done to tantalize men either. As I recall studies showed that women tended to care more about what other women thought than pleasing men.

Either way, these women chose to do their show this way. That freedom to choose is way more important to me than worrying about who might be scandalized or turned on by the whole thing. I don't believe for a second that these two women are brainwashed or somehow are being forced to do anything.

You are right.

And I fail to see how anyone could argue that Cher isn’t a very strong, empowered woman. She is still a leader in the industry. And yet she always dressed to push the limits. She started doing that way back in her career. Well before the aircraft carrier video.

Not sure why anyone would be embarrassed for her. I am going to bet she would laugh at the thought. Particularly considering that song was one of her many, many songs that went gold.

Have you been to a circus in the last 30 years? Acrobats and showgirls wear as much or less. NFL cheerleaders wear less (in that they show far more ACTUAL skin - She was in a full body stocking, that was thicker than some of my leggings)

As far as this year, they were amazing performers. Not the music I normally listen to either but I can certainly appreciate how well they presented their music and how fantastic they looked doing it.

With most of these women that are defying age: It's not her real face. It's not her real hair. It's not her real breasts. I am just not a fan of Cher. I don't find her sexy. I think she looks ridiculous. Her singing is awful. But she is marching to the bank with fistfuls. So good for her.

But back to Shakira! She is perfect to me. How can someone be so cute and sexy at the same time? It comes across as effortless and natural. Did she need to groan an thrust pelvic area towards a man? No. That really wasn't appropriate for a family event like the Super Bowl. But at least she can dance to perfection.

JLo just lacks talent compared to her. She was not one of those graceful, athletic pole dancers. She didn't even seem very strong. Men had to hold her up at times. It seemed cumbersome and forced. (I didn't see her stripper movie, but did she do all of her own scenes?) And her dancing just wasn't good compared to even some of the extras on stage.


I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder.

And one more time, how did all grinding of this tie into children in cages? Can anyone answer this?

Her singing is awful? LOL Boy, are you in the minority on that one!!

and she is worth almost 400 million dollars to prove it.

You know, you may not like a singer or an actor and that's ok. Everyone has a right to their opinion. But putting your opinion out as fact isn't really good. Perhaps saying "I don't like her voice or her music" would come off a little better.

It definitely is. What you see in J-Lo may be true, but I see a 50 year old woman up there holding her own with dancers half her age. I see a woman with an incredible body and incredible physical talent, even if it isn't perfect. It takes hard work and dedication to keep yourself in well enough shape to do half what she does at her age. I think she was truly fabulous, obviously YMMV.
