half way point from WDW and ft lauderdale?

not sure what area to post so i am going to post on the 2 i most frequent.

we are going to try to getogether with some family from Ft lauderdale...the orignal plan was for them to drive up to WDW and spend a day at the aprks with us, but things have changed and we will need to meet halfway to get to see eachother.
so....what would be about half way betwen the points? preferably oceanside would be great, a beach PERFECT- my daughters and i LOVE the ocean and the beachs in florida :0
what i was lookingat was vero beach, or melbourne beach.....but i cant find any info on either ......we would probly do lunch or dinner and hang by the beach if we can.

hoping someone can fill us in.....being not from that area we have no clue thanks!!!!!]

Looking at a map, Ft Pierce would be about halfway. It is on thre ocean and you can get there easily on the Florida Turnpike.

Depends on when you are going. Ft Pierce was just hit hard by both Hurricanes Frances and Jeanne. Actually the whole east coast from Melbourne to North Palm Beach has been hit. I am sure things will get back to normal in the next couple of months though. Every day things are improving. Now if only we can keep those dang hurricanes AWAY!!!
