Half party onsite with magic bands, half staying offsite with no magic bands....questions?

My family is onsite with bands and FP+ ready to go. My parents are offsite with no magic bands.

I am managing the trip for all in MDE., which has gone fine from a scheduling perspective and we have gotten what we wanted.

Now that the trip is getting close, wondering the following about the half not on property with only RFID tickets.

1. What do they use to access their FP+ if they don't have a band? Their ticket media?

2. Does their ticket media have to be activated at the turnstile to use their FP+ if they are letting my kids use their FP+ before they meet us for a meal later in the day?

Please elaborate on any of the above. They don't want to buy a Magic Band if they do not have to. Need to understand how this works.

The RFID ticket can be used instead of a magic band in all cases except charging expenses to a room.
