Our home is disneyland. So world is a bit of a learning curve but I’m feeling pretty good about things now that I’ve read 273839303 blogs..

Anyway as I think about what my kids like. (I have one who will barley be 40 inches) I am thinking of spending a majority of our trip in magic kingdom.

is that crazy? I’m thinking just one day in AK and Epcot. 2 HS because we have big toy story and Star Wars fans plus I the fastpass tiers stink there right now! So a second day to get rides in..

And 4 at MK! It wouldn’t be 4 full days.. we would end the trip there before flying home and wouldn’t go until evening our first day..

Thoughts?

also: if your doing multi days in a single park how do YOU choose to do your fastpasses?do you always choose the hardest to get or do you choose different ones for each day? The amount of choices overwhelm me at MK!

I don’t think that’s too much MK at all! It’s really two full days plus two partial. MK is our favorite park with the grandkids. That much time will allow a relaxed pace, time to stop for shows, etc. If EMM is offered on any of your MK days I would purchase it. It was so worth it to us to be able to do favorite rides multiple times with little wait. Then your FP can be used for rides not included in EMM.

Even when we had a little one, we did 2 days in MK. There is just too much to do in the other parks. Since you frequent DL, there's going to be quite a bit that's the same in MK.

I agree not too much! I have always loved MK but seeing it through your own children’s eyes is really magical. I am recently back from a trip with twin 6 year olds and we ended up canceling our 2nd AK day (we did part of a half day there) in order to go back to MK (that was our third MK day). Also, not sure when you are going but Epcot has so much construction going on right now that I wouldn’t see myself going back there until it is complete. We actually spent the most time in MK and HS (I was surprised about HS). Enjoy!

We have little ones (9 and 5 at the moment, have been coming since they were small) and if you totaled up our time spent overall, it would probably be 50% MK, or somewhere close. Just so much to do, usually longer park hours so more time to explore (eg, rope drop one day, come back at night on another, etc), has the best evening fireworks show of all the parks, rides and shows have a high repeat factor for us, etc, etc.

I like your plan. And you can always change the plan if your family falls in love with something at another park.

That sounds right to me. We break MK up into sections, and you really cannot get it all done in even 2 days. There's so much to do and see (and eat!). And we do the same thing - I have to start there, no matter the day and I like ending there, too because we always have late flights, so I don't count those as full days ;)

I choose FPs for MK based on hard to get rides plus what I realistically expect to get. I know I am not getting 7DMT on my arrival day even 60 days out, so we do Splash, BTMRR, and Haunted Mansion. A few days into our trip and I try to book 7DMT first thing, because we rope drop other rides (and it isn't our favorite there anyway). You don't need FP for a lot of rides there because you'll be able to pick them up as 4th FPs. Also, my youngest was only 40 inches on her first trip and only missed out on FOP, Space, Everest, and RnR. We did rider swap with our older child and took the other one for a treat or on a smaller ride while we waited.

We always buy hoppers but I agree on one day at Epcot and AK unless you want to hop.

I don't know how long your trip is or how many ticket days you have, but only reason I would switch my days around is to get FP towards the end of my trip for FOP or Slinky, since you haven't experienced either.

we have an 8 day ticket, staying 9 nights. We are planning 1 rest day. I have a AK day and a HS studio day planned for 60+8 (HS) and AK 60+7..because of these very reasons!

It really all depends on what your kids like and what they want to do.
We used to spend much more time in MK.
As our kids got older, more time was spent at AK and EPCOT.
As EPCOT and HS finish their constuction, I suspect that will change some more.
