Where do they sweep?
Me and a group of 5-6 girls are going to do the princess and I'm thinking for the most part we will stick together.
Run 2 miles, walk 1... run 2, walk 1.... something like that.
I heard you need to avg. 15minute mile, but that there are places that they sweep even if your keeping up that pace.
First - is this true. And B - where are these points?

Thanks!

First the pace requirement is a 16 minute pace, not 15 minute. Next, the sweep time starts as the last runner crosses the start line. Once that runner passes the start all runners need to be past mile 1 16 minutes later. At some point in the race a person with balloons, flags or other marker will join the race at that 16 minute pace. They will be offering words of encouragement. If you happen to have that person near you speed up as they are not always on the exact time; close but not exact.

Example: Assume the last runner to cross the start line crosses at 6:20am. All runners would need to be past mile 1 by 6:36 am. Likewise by 6:52, all runners would need to have passed Mile 2, by 7:08 Mile 3, by 7:24 at Mile 4, etc.

Now let’s say that a runner carrying a 20 minute pace crosses the start at 6:10. They would pass Mile 1 at 6:30, Mile 2 at 6:50, mile 3 at 7:10, and Mile 4 at 7:30. This runner would be subject to a sweep any time after falling off the back of the race in mile 2.

Hard sweep points in the half tend to include mile 4, the point where the race passes TTC and before it hits the public roadway again. Mile 6 and/or mile 8 always have busses waiting. The final point is mile 10, the intersection of World and Epcot.

Note that you are always subject to being swept at any time you are not keeping up with the 16 minute pace clock started with the last runner passing the start line, regardless of any hard sweep point.
