Just wondered how these work & where you can use them, will I need to purchase them here before we go? Also does anyone know approximately how much they cost - we are going for 3 nights.

Thank you x

Hi Daisy,

You do have to purchase them in advance - if you have booked an onsite hotel, you can add half board, half board plus, or half board premium to your existing booking. You have to buy the vouchers for each person in your party, and for each night of your stay (so for example, if you're staying for 3 nights, and there are 2 adults and 2 children in your party, that would be 6 adult vouchers, and 6 childrens vouchers you would pay for).

I found that the DLRP brochure, which you can get from any travel agent, has the best concise info on how much, where you can use them, and how to get them.

For one adult and one child, half board plus costs £25 per night total.

They really will save you money if you intend having a table-service meal each day at DLRP.

Thank you for your quick reply, just another question that I have thought of - is it only a set menu then that you can eat from?

Not necessarily.

We are booking buffet restaurants with ours, so that everyone in our party can pretty much just eat what they want. An example of the price saving on this is, the full cost of the buffet dinner at Cape Cod in the Newport Bay Club hotel for one adult, one child, is 40 euros (ie around £33). I've paid in advance with my half board plus vouchers, and they are accepted as payment in full at the Cape Cod. That meal has only cost me £25, as its prepaid. You also get a soft drink including with the half board vouchers, and you don't always get that included in the buffet prices when you "pay on the day".

But, for example, you can order from the normal menu at Cafe Mickey, and then when you come to pay the bill, they will deduct the face value of the half board vouchers you give them. Half board plus adult vouchers have a face value of 25 euros each. I'm not sure how much childrens half board plus vouchers are face value - is it around 11 euros?

In the table service restaurants they are set menus (3 courses + 1 soft drink I think), but you can put your voucher towards the normal menu- e.g. the halfboard plus is worth 25 euros so you would have 25 euros to spend on the normla menu. You can make a lot of savings for example the Steakhouse menu would cost you 33 euros without half board vouchers, and you get a drink on top!

Thank you once again, I will now look into how much they will be and do some menu meal planning to try and work out what will be cheapest/best for us.

We've bought Half Board Plus vouchers for our next trip and for 2 adults, 2 kids, it was £156 (for 3 nights).

HTH.
