It's about a 30 second walk from IASW to Liberty Tree Tavern, and we were HUNGRY. We're about 5 minutes early, and I walk up to check in.
Last name? Duck.
I don't seem to have you here. I look at the screen upside down and from 3 feet away and say third one down.
Ohhh. I was a little worried. She said it would be 15 minutes. About 2 minutes later we hear Duck family from Kentucky and are led to the table at the crossroads of the dining rooms. At first I thought the traffic would be awful, then I realized the characters were the ones that would be crossing about the time that Miss Minnie walked by for the third time. No time to stop, but she'd blink slowly and and give the little side of the head finger wave--- at our Mickey. Could she tell? Then Chip came by. He strutted when I called him by name.
Our server, Josh, showed up; he was waiting nearby for his chance. He asked our drink order and Goofy said root beer. Then around the table, root beer root beer root beer. Hey, it's a tavern, ya gotta have some kind of beer.

Josh was back with mugs and salad and a stack of plates. Then back with rolls.
Within minutes we had our first round of meats, mac 'n cheese, dressing, mashed taters and string beans. I love green beans, but when served whole and still bright green, I can do without. But I always try them and hope. These were great. Everything was great. The roast beef was the best I ever tasted. I think I ate a whole bowl of dressing. We asked for more of everything except ham. It was good, but none of us were fans.
I pigged out on the meal knowing I wouldn't eat dessert. It was either cherry cobbler or apple pie, I'm not sure, but I don't eat either. But I knew it came with ice cream, so I told Josh if I could get a scoop, that'd be great. He brought me out a bowl with 3 of the biggest scoops of the best vanilla ice cream I've ever had. I couldn't finish, but got most of it.
Throughout the meal, the characters kept coming by, sometimes stopping, sometimes just waving. That table is like Grand Central Station. Miss Minnie was by at least 10 times, and just waved another 10. (Disney)Goofy planted himself at our table several times and (Disney)Pluto was practically our Pluto's lap dog.
Dale only made it by once, but we saw a lot of Chip. Chip and Dale seemed to be feuding, and Dale would walk by when Chip was with us with his nose in the air and Chip would look down. Later they tag teamed a little one though, so all is well in Chipmunk land.
Our ADR was for 5:40 and we were just a little early and we were out at 6:20 and never felt rushed. Josh refilled our root beers at least 5 times and was pleasant and enthusiastic the whole time. Looking back on the trip, this was both the best food and best character interaction we had and the service was excellent, although we had a lot of that. Some think free dining and the
DDP in general makes servers lax, but we never experienced that. If anything, it seemed they knew they were getting tipped and wanted to be worthy. They were.
