Hakuna Matata Team Challenge Hours/Miles

Connie, hope you are feeling better. That is one advantage of being retired, I don't have to go to work and get exposed to all kinds of illnesses every day!
I sent you a PM with our weekly totals.

For the team, Scott totaled 12.58 miles and 3hours 09 minutes, I totaled 32.53 miles and 9 hours 44 minutes.

I am currently reading Marathoning for Mortals, I wonder how these totals will change when I actually start on a program. I now just try to get my dogs out for a daily walk, one day I will walk hard, the next easy, and one longer walk in per week. I keep planning on the pilates and weights, but only seem to do them once a week.

Weather looks good today, and not bad over the weekend. Of course, our weekends are spent in the basement doing construction, not exercising, so weekend weather doesn't really matter. But it is really nice that the wind has calmed down to the 5-15mph range. Hopefully it will stay that way for a while!

Hi everyone.

I am supposed to do 7 mile LSD, today, but i have unfortunately succumbed to the flu. I think that I will be going back to bed now.

Everyone keep your miles rolling in. I will get them posted on Sunday. I love watching that tote board go up and up and up! :cloud9:

Anybody know when Kim and Mike get back from the world?? Lucky ones. ::yes::

Connie:hug: feel better princess.

Good morning Margie and all the Hakuna Matata warriors.

Stretchy Panda:hippie:

Awww does stretchy panda want to be a warrier really :rotfl: ? You can be a walt's warrier in spirit- we'll add your mins if you like!

Connie hope you feel better soon- get snuggled up and hopefully it'l pass soon. Happy weekend

Pixie dust Connie for your DH :)

Margie be safe on the roads and sidewalks! I just went down today at Mom's and banged my knee good on her concret step. OUCH! it's going to be a lovely bruise. A bit scratched up but no blood. sore but I was able to walk to my car and no problems bearing weight. I immediately put my leg up and ice on at Mom's and gave it a while of doing that before leaving and am home with it up and have iced again.

Our local park is closed off thanks to the snow and the river is really high still so I don't think i will get in miles tomorrow. I am thinking I might try for sunday since it will be warmer and after giving my poor knee a break worth a drive to a different entrance.

But for this week I have 1-1/2 mile to report and 1-1/2 hours of total exercise. It took me a 1/2 hr to do that distance on Thursday and I did a Stretch & Strengthen class today at the gym before injuring myself :thumbsup2

After seeing the Spirit of the Marathon and DH smacking my upside the head (no, not really lol) I think I might have my head straightened out and back in training mode. DH is very supportive and sometimes has too much faith in my abilities.

DAVE!!! Are you not coming for the Minnie Weekend? I thought you & Erica were. BTW HI ERICA!!! :wave2:

Ouch, take care of that knee, Diane!

Oh Connie, I am so sorry you got this nasty flu bug...Nothing much works except going to bed. The doctor said to drink de-fizzed regular coke to settle your stomach, if you are doing a lot of vomiting. Water didn't work at all for me! Hope it does not last long! :flower3:

Thank You Diane, I am mega careful since slipping and breaking my ankle...I haven't been able to get outside very much. So I have low mileage on the Dreadmill. :headache:

Sounds like the snow and ice moved on up to the East Coast...Be safe everyone.

Hi everyone.

I was so happy to hear that your trip with your husband was successful, and then I read this post :sad1:. Sorry to hear you are under the weather Connie. Take your time and get better .

I did have a very nice, calm, 4 mile run on the bridge. I had to chuckle, because at one point, I was running faster than the 4:30 p.m. traffic (only because there was an accident on the bridge) . Oh well, the thought kept me entertained which I think contributed to my pleasant run.

Have a great evening team!
Donna

Hi Diane. We were origionally planning on the Minnie but I need to have some extensive dental work done and Erica has to get her bunions fixed. So we gave up that trip for our medical concerns. We will be at the ToT though.

Besides the money we need the vacation time to recover from the procedures. We are figuring a week each. We hate missing a Disney trip but decided this was as good a time as any.

Donna, you be carefull on those bridges, I've heard that Fla drivers can be vicious.

Connie all my best get better thoughts coming your way.

Sleepy Panda:hippie:

I am having a tough time getting any miles in work is nuts, 23 hours yesterday and 3 hours sleep.

Connie take cae and get better, Dave I think you are on your way to getting that paw all better, Donna do be careful I remember those bridges over there can be hectic.

Just give me a holler if you need a hand there Scott. I know how those days go. I haven't had one for a long time and sometimes I do miss the Jazz.

One thing about being it you keep your heart rate in the training zone most of the time.:)

You need to grab your pretty princess and take a Disney break here real soon. We will be ready to kick back and relax when we go in Oct for the ToT.

I'm working the paw getting it ready. I'm really stretching and icing the heck out of it. When I start back I'll slowly progress and not push that either.

Morning Team-mates!

Beautiful day here in New Hampshire - it's not snowing!

Did 4 miles on the TM/60 min. Now to enjoy the rest of the day, may finally take down the Christmas tree. Yes it's still up. I have one of those 3 ft trees - fiber optic but the couch is in the front of it and Mark has to move that for me so when he's done plowing the world out, we'll have that to tackle. It will take me 15 min rather than 5 to take down since I did put up a few Mickey head mini ornaments on it this year. 2 months since Christmas, I guess it's about time. At least I haven't lit it since January 1.

My other goals today are to make pillow cases. There is some really cool fabric out there and I found some for Marathon runners, can you believe it? I bought 4 yards to make 4 of us pillow cases so we can dream about running. You know that whole subliminal thing. I've already made 2 this morning with chocolate on them. Bon Bons. I have a friend retiring from work this week and she must weight 80 pounds. She LOVES chocolate, hot dogs and donuts. I could only find chocolate fabric so that's what she's getting for her "sweet dreams" in retirement.

Well back to the task at hand. Have a good one!

Well like a broken record I did my stretching and calistetics. I will sure be glad to start posting my walk times and distances again.

Denise I bet the stuff you make are awesome, will you be sharing pics?

Have a super day y'all.

Wish I was Walking Panda:hippie:

I am thrilled...:cool1:

I did my 8.02 miles in 2 hrs and 10 minutes.
I think the time was great as my paths had some terrible-terrible sections of ice, slush, water, and even sections of mud! My Garmin said I had a max speed of 6.1 mph.

Hey, Panda you will be back up to speed soon ... just don't rush it! Patience-Please

Forgot to post from yesterday 6.4miles combo Arc Trainer/Bike--55minutes total

Connie--take care of yourself and get better soon. That flu bug is nasty!

Connie - we got the "package" today, thanks.

Spent the day grouting tile, Scott is now sleeping in front of the TV as he got only 2 hours sleep last night! Tomorrow is supposed to be nice, we will try to get out for a walk/run.

Good morning team.:wave2:

Sounds like you and Scott need another vacation, I hear DisneyWorld is a cool place to go. Does Scott get paid by the hour?

I'm headed off to the mall for some stretching then easy walking till Erica gets off so I can take her to breakfast. Next week will be weird, I'm off monday and thursday. Someone's baby is having a birthday tuesday and asked me to switch with them.

I hope you are feeling better Connie.:flower3: We have sure had our share of the flu bug on the WISH this winter, YUCK, I hope it's about over.

Have an awesome day and stay happy.

Yesterday was another good day with a 75 minute workout and 17.8 miles on the recumbent]

That is fantastic Lisa, congratulations on your workout !

Donna

Thanks, Donna, cross training on my recumbent can help the team, huh :goodvibes

Hi, Lynn, thanks for heads up - I am thinking I will sign up today :cheer2: I have a brand new nephew in Atlanta that I just got to see. I was MIA from the boards a few days since he was born last Thursday! I can stay with him and my sis and BIL for the race, I hope :flower3:

My workouts that haven't been reported:

02/20 60 min workout incl. 3.2 miles on treadmill + strength
02/21 Rest day
02/22 60 min workout incl. core and easy 1.5 mile walk
02/23 70 min workout on recumbent covering 17 miles

only could muster a six mile run today, as the humidity did me in this morning:sad2:.

Today is my DH's birthday, so we have a big family dinner we're attending in a few hours. At least I can eat mashed potatoes without feeling one ounce of guilt :rotfl2:!

Have a great week team; I'll check in tomorrow evening!

Donna

Let's see if I can rememeber all the stuff.

Yes I get paid by the hour$$$$ and it will help spike the retirement. YEAH!!!:cool1: :cool1: Yep the long one's are kinda fun and the Jazz is good. Keeps ya on your toes for sure. Disney vacation will be in May, yeah:cool1: :cool1:

Those pillows sound Kewl!! Wish I was 80 pounds and could eat all that junk, nah!!!!! not really.

Team you guys are doing great, keep up the good work.
:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Got the tile all grouted and buffed out, one more buffing let set a couple of days, seal it up, finish trim the room, install the plumbing fixtures, touch up the paint, hang a towel rack or two, install a mirror and Tah! Dah! a big done stamp. Then on to the next room.

Clear and nice here today just got back from a 7 mile run, felt good. Sorry to hear you mid west and NE folks are getting dumped on. Well wherever you go you take the weather with ya.

Hi Team.

Sure glad tomorrow is a day off. I'm ready, maybe with some extra sleep I will feel better. I have felt tired all week, hopefull it's not a bug coming on.

Tomorrow's plan is to do a good stretching routine, then a 4 mile walk with Erica, probably at the mall unless it's warmer outside. Wish me luck.

Have a great evening y'all.
