Hakuna Matata - May; the Irish Month of Mirth and Merriment!

:bday: Robert :cheer2:

We had 4 bassets at the waddle, a couple did not come, but it was fun to see everyone looking and asking about the dogs.

Yesterday was Tinkerbell's b'day, so we went in to the MK last night and she got to ride the tea cups and dumbo. We got her a b'day button and we let her meet the Princess and Tinkerbell!!! (She does not always get to see them when my Dd does) so she was very happy.

My cast is on order, it will be on next week, and it will be my fav color......purple.

Enjoy the weekend eveeyone. :wave2:

Worked out last night with my PT - we did lunges with a medicine ball for a warmup and focused on dead lifting. My regular dead lifting sets are now at 140 lbs (3 reps, 6-7 sets). At the end, my PT made me retry my PB which was 145 lbs. Got that up no problem Then he upped the weight to 150 lbs and that was tougher but I still got it up. So my new PB is 150 lbs!! But he thinks it could have been 155 lbs!

Happy Mother's Day! :flower3:

To All those who have Mothers

To All those who are Mothers

To All Those Mothers To Be!

This Special Day is in Honor of You...
We appreciate all you do...
All the unconditional love you give...
And all those Hugs and Kisses are Really Good Too!

Margie, Robert my race walking student here was going to do the regional Tenn trials to get a chance to go to state trials for the chance to qualify for the senior Olympics. Because of the flooding in Nashville his region got a buy on regional qualifying and will get to go to state. Did that make sense? I don't have regional trials here just state, as we have a lot fewer people in Kentucky who do anything physical.

Sally is doing good. Still wild as a deer but doing good. She is sitting here next ot me as I write this and says hi to everyone.

We walked 3 miles in the mall together and got breakfast at Shoney's before the mothers day crowd hit. By the time we were leaving it was packed.

Dave:hippie:

Happy Mother's day. This is for everyone who's a mom, grandmother or mother figure to someone in their lives :) Here's a big  and thank-you for all the support you give us and all the things you help us out with!

Just a quick drive-by for me today ...

Robert - Happy Belated Birthday! Hope it was a great day!!

Margie - Put me down for another 0.9 lbs lost! What's the link for photos with Mike and Liz?

Connie - The calla lilies sound wonderful! Hope you're having a great Mother's Day with your kids!!

Sue - How was the Mother's Day tea?

Jennifer - Hope your knee is feeling better!

Kirstie - I had no idea that casts could be that expensive!! Do you still have to go to a doctor to have it fitted?

Have a great day everyone! :wave2:

Hey all!

I had a crazy Mother's Day at work. Probably did a half marathon running around my little department. Lugged a bunch of fish, shrimp, and lobster. Sooooo tired now.

I celebrated MD yesterday for the most part. Saw Nick's momma and grandma and talked to my grandma on the phone (she's a few states away). Sent flowers and sappy cards to the previously mentioned mommas.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TEAM!

Ran my LIVE UNITED 5k yesterday and finished 49/178. There was one killer hill which we had to do twice as they lapped us around. I set a new post cancer PR at 28:28 with a pace of 9:11. The race was well organized and alot of fun, at the beginning a bugler blew a tune for all the runners to line up at the start (like at the Kentucky Derby).

Margie~ I couldn't help you find the pictures as I haven't had time enough to check them all out. It's been another busy week! :upsidedow

Dave~ My buddy talked me into signing up for the Warrior Dash on Sunday June 20th with a wave start time of 1:30 pm. It's in Joliet, IL if you want to join us? It should be a crazy good time!

Kirsty~ Purple cast? Are you going to get it signed by all the WDW characters?

Robert~ I'm going to catch up to you in weight loss!

Jack~ let us know how you did in your race!

AFM~ I have the night off, so we might chill and watch a movie...popcorn::

Take care- Mike :cool2:

Good Evening Team! Happy Mother's Day!

Welcome Taryn!

Brief Bio:Lynn (of Lynn and Scott), 59 years old, retired (although I have been working for the census since November – until next week – I have only one week left :cheer2:– because of that I have not been posting much, but when I have my life back, I should be posting more regularly – that is after we get back from our month long trip to Europe. We are both Disneyholics – we have been members of DVC since it started. I am a walker, I used to try to run, but since knee surgery last August which I am still trying to recover from, I only walk now. I have done several half marathons, mostly Disney ones. I have 2 malamutes that are my walking companions at home.

Connie – I was also wondering about the virtual race that I had on my calendar for last weekend. If we make it in August – here it will have to be a streak thru the night or very early morning – it is too hot to walk or run at other times during August!

Margie – glad to hear you are doing better!

Mike – that sounded like a fun race! Congrats on still being cancer free!

Dave – hope you have survived the flooding!

Robert – Happy Belated Birthday!

I am over the cold, but had gum surgery on Thursday that put me back a few days, I felt fine on the second day, but they stressed not to do activity for “a few days”, so I did not.

Have a great week all!

Hi Lynn welcome back we missed you princess.

Mike that's a little far for me since I have to work that weekend. We will cross paths soon though, at Disney if not before.

My battle with the achillies continues, I've been relentless with the stretching and icing. Now a good nights sleep should have me ready for my 400m repeats in the morning.

I should probably get serious about getting in more miles after this achillies monster is beaten. I'm getting about 20 quality miles a week right now. I should also get serious about dropping a few pounds of fluff to.

Dave:hippie:

Good morning y'all.

There is some evil crap going on all around us, gas prices are going up again, going over $3.00 a gallon. The gulf coast is going to be unfit to swim in for not only us but the fish and other critters that are living there. The rain has left the Tenn and Ky in a state of disaster and the threat of earth quakes is ever present for all of us.

But ya know, what all that is out of our hands to fix and make better. But what is in our hands to make better is our own health and fitness. We alone control the miles we do and what we stick in our mouths. We decide how much sleep we are going to get, yes sometimes we have to give up something to get that 6 to 8 hours but it's up to us.

So having said all that I'm going to exercise my options and go meet another race walker and do the fastest 400m repeats that I've ever done.

Grrrrrrrrr!!

Good morning Team!!!

Lynn - Good to see you back! A month long cruise sounds....tooo long! I would love two, two week cruises though! I hope you have a wonderful time, marvelous weather and the absolute best time in the world! Have a special dessert for me! -- Things weren't going my way for the month of March and April, so getting a virtual race together for the first of May was just more than I could handle. Plus, the boards seem to have slowed down some with all the regular season races. That's why I though August would be good!

Mike - You da King! Racing with you would be an exercise in dust eating for me...or mud, as the case may be!

Dave - So many of your posts and thoughts seem to be centered on control. I have no control issues. I was lucky enough when I was born to instinctively understand that the only thing in life I can control is myself and I don't have a lot of luck with THAT!!! :lmao: Still waiting on the P90X. I will let you know if it kills me!

Kristie - if the cast fits, wear it! :rotfl: I hope your healing process is fast and recovery complete! Go with our best wishes!

Hope - Hmmmmmm, sounds tasty, but I feel certain you mostly got the stinky part of all that ocean goodness!

Margie - Thanks for all the lovely mother's day wishes.

:duck: We miss you: Denise, Eva, Gerry, Jack, Kim, Kristie, Lorelei, Pam, Regina, Robert, Scott , Taryn, Figment82.

AFM - Off to do the grocery shopping today. Fresh fruit is a staple at our house and I need to buy it about once a week. I found the greatest fruit bowl ever at Bed, Bath, and Beyond recently. It has an open weave bowl part and a banana hanger all in one! It's great.

DS and his girlfiend were here for Mother's Day. It was a really nice treat. Although, he could have at least cooked the burgers on the grill. Gotta have a talk with that man!

See y'all! Connie

Yes Connie, I need to remind myself often. I went through such a long period there where it seemed as though everything was spinning out of control. Now I'm getting used to being in the driver's seat instead of being stuffed in the trunk.

Hard workout and not limping after, life is good. 5 X 200m repeats with fastest 58 sec. That would be walking at a sub 8 min mile.

Have a magical day y'all.

Dave:hippie:

ahhhh, Dave, you've never been in the trunk. It may have been dark and gloomy, but that was just not knowing what lay in the road ahead! When you turned the dang headlights on, it became clearer! And slowly almost without realizing it, night turns into day!

Hi Team!

Dave~ Sub 8 min mile walking? :worship: I can't run that fast!

Connie~ Thank's again, but I'm not really that fast. (See above sentence!)

Margie~ What's Hagen up to today?

AFM~ Weather is moving in again, getting colder and heavy rainstorms tonight. I'm doing the laundry, moving the winter clothes to storage, and cleaning out closets to see what I can donate. Hmmm, I haven't worn that shirt in years.... Maybe a run at the gym later.

-Mike :cool2:

Hi Team! :wave2:

Connie- Thanks! Glad you had a wonderful Mother’s Day!
I am so eager to hear about the P90X!
Will you be doing the diet they suggest too?

Dave- 8 minute mile–that is truly amazing…WTG!
Our Michigan Senior Olympian is sub a 10 minute miler.
He looks like he is almost running!
Tell Sally we all said Hi :grouphug:
Robert- no I am not sure I understand.
Regional-Then State- Then Senior Olympics?
So he has to go to Tennessee regionals; to qualify to for State trials; then at State he must also qualify for the Senior Olympics. Does he need a certain qualifying time to be in the top (number) to earn the right to compete for Tennessee in the Senior Olympics?

Gerry- how was your race today? :goodvibes:

Hope-It sounds like your job is way active cross training! :goodvibes

Kirstie- Like Mike said-too cute to have all the Disney
Characters sign your new cast! ::yes::

Jack- :wave2: how did the race go Sunday?

Jennifer- Hope you had a Fun Day. ::yes::
The kids are probably getting a bit impatient for school to be
over for the summer.

Kim- :wave2:

Mike-WTG – Nice race! :cool1:
Will add another race to our Team Calendar
Laundry – cleaning closets

Scott & Lynn- Nice to hear from you guys! :goodvibes
Sounds like an awesome European Cruise.
I truly did not know they had month long cruises.

Sue- Now you are on Taper…Correct! :upsidedow

Vicky- Did you get the link for Mike & Liz's race?

AFM: Hagen slept over last night. He was/is still sick today.
He did not keep his breakfast down and would not eat the rest of the day.

Enjoy all the moments today might bring!
