Hakuna Matata - Marching in like Lions!

:lmao:
When we saw a huge gator sat by the side of the road I think I could have set a new world speed record.......if only the officals had be there to record it!!!!!!

The closet thing to a tiger i've seen around is a bobcat. One of the neighbours has said that they have seen a panther.:scared1:

Good Afternoon Team!

It's only Thursday. Come on Friday or better yet the weekend.

Connie/ Margie, I so need that power nap today. Do you think any one would notice if I took a nap under my desk for a few minutes.

Jen, DH does tris. I am doing my first du this July. We have been to several events such as the try-a-tris and the shorter sprint distances & see all kinds of bikes. I think the sprint distance would be the longest event to do on a mountain bike. Any longer distance I think needs to be done on a road bike with clip in pedals. The issues I think you will have is with the overall weight of the bike & the wide tires. If you are going to do it with your current bike I would suggest a good tune-up at the bike shop. Also around here the bike shops usually have spring swap (trade-in) events or are selling off last year's models.
I also think it depends on what you want to get out of the event. Just finish vs age group placing etc. on what type of bike you need.

Vicky, Pedicures are my 1 must have indulgence. I always wear flipflops after to allow polish to dry. I looked like quite a dork last night at the mall wearing flips & a long winter coat. How's the ATB training? Just over 2 weeks to go.

Mike, Nice birthday gift. DH & 1 are having a Sat. date night. He's interested in seeing District 9. Have you seen The Hurt Locker?

I will be out tonight for a run before the rain comes in for the next few days.

Have a great evening.............Sue

Thanks all for the kind welcome!

Yes, live some 1.5 miles as the crow flies to Cinderella's Castle.

Just did the Princess (and Frog) 5k this weekend after getting hooked by volunteering for the marathon in Jan (mile 18).

Got 2 miles in last night before the scheduled 2 days of rain today and tomorrow.

Already signed up for the Everest Challenge and plan on the Halloween 5k as well.

Signed DD and DS for the mini Muddy Buddy also.

Gerry

Thanks everyone for the tri advice! The one I'm looking at is in August (450meter swim/8 mile bike/ 5k run), and I have until June to decide.

I got a new track baby today. She's awesome and a freshman. Definitely state-bound.

6.5 miles in 50 minutes today.

Best,
Jennifer

I am so far behind again, I don't know how that always happens.

WELCOME Gerry!!!!!!

Good Morning Team! :wave2:

Today they say a high of 63° - mostly cloudy; heavy thunderstorms last night. Flooding Alerts today.

Connie- No kidding – No WebCam? Oh, btw our high and low were both higher than yours yesterday!
Me-not quite so early this morning as I did manage to get some sleep last night!

Dave- When I became a Widow after being married for many years I needed to step back and find out who I really was. I know it is hard, but you were the other part of a couple for half your life. First find out who are you alone – it’s not fair to you or them, you cannot offer just half of you to someone else. Dear Friend, Relax, have Fun, and Enjoy finding the New Whole You First! :grouphug:
Me either Margie, I just wanna find a new soul mate and get back to moving forward.

Denise, Hope, Jack, Kim, Lynn, MaryJ, Pam, & Robert-
Wishing you Sunshine and great training moments! :rainbow:

Gerry-I can see how that would be an endless Holiday – 1.5 miles from Cinderella’s Castle! It is Way Nice being that close to WDW for the races an Plus the added Bonus to have it a Family Affair! :lovestruc

Jennifer- Go for it You Can Do It! August (450meter swim/8 mile bike/ 5k run) :worship:
And Congratulation on gaining a new Track Baby! Great Run!!!!

Kristy- We have the Greatest Team and another one close to Cinderella’s Castle!
:scared1: When we saw a huge gator sat by the side of the road I think I could have set a new world speed record...if only the officials had be there to record it!!!!!!

Mike-BTW - how are you training for this Extreme 5K? :rolleyes1

Scott- You must be really busy this week...not thinking that sounds good! :sad1:

Sue- The Best Naps just happens. :goodvibes I wear flip Flops year round-even open toes to church. My toes get recognized in the strangest places. BTW I do not think pedicures are an indulgence…they are a necessity for healthy feet and of course the French Pedicure is the only way to go for me.

Vicky- Oh My Gosh- my quads still hurt today. No thankfully I had enough sense not to do the one with just one foot on the floor first. Now I know I should have only done 1 set of ten to start even if it seemed easy!

AFM: Out the door to the Gym-

Enjoy the moments!

Well another interesting day in the land of the great unwashed. I still haven't got the body funk out of my nose hairs since I had to fit a patient with glasses, for gift of sight, yesterday that has probably never bathed. It has to battle the smell of cigarette smoke after walking in the door of the Waffle house and walking right back out because of the thick cloud of smoke.
Most of our restaurants have gone non smoking and now I know where all our smokers went.

Anyway back to the rat killing. I had an early morning speed intervals session this morning and we just barely made it before the heavens opened and the rain started. Good time to stop for a big breakfast and now a good nap. I don't have to go in till 2pm so a long nap is in order.

I walked my intervals at the 10:30 pace I plan for my next 5K so I could get the feel for it. I haven't been under 11:00 per mile for a 5K since 2007 so it's time to get my Grrrrrrr on again and get my times down where they need to be.

Margie you are sweet, I need you and Connie closer to keep me out of trouble.

Syko, I have a girlfriend in the Yukon who was telling me she was doing a trail race and a bear got after her. I said wow that must have been scary and she said "No it wasn't the biggest bear I've had chasing me and besides as soon as I passed someone the bear was their problem".

I wanna live a mile and a half from the magic kingdom.

Ok it's pouring rain so good napping weather.

Have a wonderful day y'all.

Dave:hippie:

Yep, Busy week, getting a little breathing room, looks to be busy till 3/24. Party tonight at the Adventures Club of Wyoming.

Tomorrow Marry Poppins in Denver.

Afternoon Team,

Home resting as I have finally been invaded by some kind of sickness. Feels like a sinus infection, which I am prone too. In the middle of a ten day (night) stretch at work. I didn't workout yesterday or today. Uggg....

Sue~ No, I haven't seen the Hurt Locker. I want to when I get a chance.
I hope you had a nice date with the hubbie.

Margie~ To train for the 5K adventure race, I have been lifting weights on my off days from running. I have two days a week that are "rest" days to allow recovery time. I'm following John Bingham's 10K Run/Walk program, which is ten weeks long. My off days consist of weight lifting, cycling, and other exercises to strengthen my non-running muscles.

Dave~ From a guy who has been in your boat, I agree with Margie. I know this is unsolicited advice and we have never met face to face, but please know we are with you and on your side. Take your time, enjoy getting to meet new people, make friends first, and above all pace it so you have fun. The best advice that I got after my divorce, and didn't follow, was take a year off, get to know what it's like just being me (alone), and relax about it. In hindsight I should have listened. Really. In reality, my boat sank a couple of times over several years with all hands on deck.

-------------

Everyone, thanks again for the birthday wishes. Oh, and I'm so jealous of all of you who live near WDW. Our plan is to retire down there and for me to become a cast member at one of the parks or at the Polynesian. I can get so many more pins......

Back to bed for me, Mike :cool2:

Mike and Margie I feel loved.:cloud9: You guys are right, it's just hard advice to follow when your feeling alone. I'm working on it, really I am.

Dave:hippie:

The Miami marathon is on TV today. CSS at 11am.
You never know you might just see me!!!!!

You never know you might just see me!!!!!

If anyone knows how to post a link for this please do. I have to work but I'd love to watch a fellow Panda kick butt.

Everyone remember to set the clocks ahead tonight.:wizard:

I meet with Team Panda at 7am so with this time change it's gonna be darker and chilly. I still haven't put my winter stuff away yet, I trained friday morning in gloves and long sleeve tech shirt and jacket shell. I can't wait for shorts weather.

Dave:hippie:

Good Morning Team! :wave2:

It looks like more rain with a high of 50° today, the birds are singing, and the snow is now completely gone from my yard!

Setting my clock ahead this morning-hopefully my body & mind will adjust quicker! :headache:

Sunday, March 14, at 2 am, we will spring our clocks forward. Although the change means longer days, this fast-forward does have one drawback: one hour less of sleep. The 60-minute sleep deficit is no small matter. In fact, it can make you fatigued and less alert. It's no wonder that car crashes increase following the time change, according to a University of Michigan expert.

Connie-must be busy :goodvibes

Dave-Best listen to Connie & Mike on this dating stuff-I truly am Clueless! It has been many years since I was there (DD is going to be 34 this year) and you need to add a few more years to that! As for being lonely I do know it is sometimes hurts and has several faces. You can be overwhelmed with the feeling of being so ‘a lone’ in a crowd; be very ‘a lone’ when something is missing in a relationship; and then there is a contentment to an loneness being ‘a lone.’ :grouphug:

Denise, Gerry, Hope, Jack, Kim, Lynn, MaryJ, Pam, & Robert-
Wishing you a great weekend, sunshine ,and great training moments! :rainbow:

Jennifer- have you had time to check out the information on the
Tri’s? :upsidedow

Kim- sometimes ‘Don’t You Know’ we just feel like Alice in Wonderland! :rolleyes1

Kristy- Thanks I find CSS station, set an alarm for 11:am, and hopefully get to see you!

MaryJ- have fun with your 7K Run of Luck today! :goodvibes

Mike- I was more interested on how you were training for these amazing feats:  climbing over cargo nets, mounds, and walls, crawling thru tunnels and mud pits, sloshing thru water holes and traversing narrow planks.

Scott- hope you enjoyed and was able to relax last night at the Adventures Club of Wyoming. :upsidedow

Sue- Date Night tonight-Enjoy the Moments!

Vicky-

AFM: Out the door to the gym again-

Enjoy the moments!

Good Morning Team!

Welcome Gerry!

Margie - If you return your census questionaire by mail, you should not see anyone at your door - the folks we will be hiring to go door to door are following up with folks that did not return the questionaire. Some folks will receive the questionaire by mail, others will have it hand delivered (the more rural areas) - but the folks that are hand delivering the questionaires are not there to ask the questions, they might confirm the address, but that is all.

I do find it amusing that several of the census commercials in our area say "IF you do not want someone to come to your door - then return the questionaire - then no one will show up on your doorstep!"

Dave - good luck with your new lifestyle - and I agree with the others - learn to be comfortable with yourself! It may not be easy, but I think you will make better choises for a mate if you do.

I am looking forward to our trip to Denver to see Mary Poppins today - so - no exercise today - guess it will be a "rest day":lmao:

Have a great week all!

Hello Team,

Made it through work last night even though I was sick. I did not like spending time in the freezer!! My mom always said if I stayed home sick from school I couldn't go outside to play. I dragged myself to work, so I figured that I could go the the gym today to do my version of playing today.

4.4 miles in 48 minutes. Longest I've gone so far this year! I think upping my body temp during the workout helped fight my cold as I feel alot better.

Have a great day, Mike:cool2:
