Hakuna Matata - Marching in like Lions!

Good Morning Team! :wave2:

I cannot believe it this weather just keeps getting better- High of 54° with sunshine again today! Snow is melting fast I even have a few bare spots on my lawn. Walk is scheduled with my little Hagen! :cool2:

Connie- Okay-

Dave- I take it Connie & Mike are way more knowledgeable than we are this dating stuff so you better listen to them!

Jennifer- WTG-nice run, Speedy!

Denise, Jack, Hope, MaryJ, Pam, & Robert-
Miss you Guys! :rainbow:

Hope-Beautiful Bride, Beautiful Dress, Beautiful Wedding - we did guess it might be at WDW! :goodvibes

Kim- Bummer but do NOT feel bad about the weight gain. :grouphug: It could all be gone tomorrow. Sometimes it is just what our bodies retain in water. Hope your foot feels better fast. I know Connie is having a terrible time with hers.

Kristy- Congratulations! :worship: You are our Little Courageous One!
Great job under terrible conditions. The terrible condition at WDW did me in and I still have not gotten my motivation back.

Mike- Seriously-you have quite an active imagination. Do you actually know people who have done all those things? Just what kind of friends do you have? Hummmm have you heard that little saying ‘Birds of a feather do fly together?’ :confused3

No, Liz you did not say WDW was just for kids did you!
All I can say then is it was a blessing for Mike that he got over that red flag!

Well maybe something like giving the waiter her phone number, but certainly not in front of a date;

hydroponics cultivation of plants in nutrient solution rather than in soil-remember now I am clueless I would have had to ask about this one and it would have been a fun learning conversation.

Scott- Thanks-you seem to do a lot of cooking. Is it a stress reliever for you?
I will try this recipe...it sounds delicious. I oven baked potatoes in the wee hours Sunday morning. I will dice some up for potato soup. It adds a different flavor and taste to soup.

Sue- WTG Girl that is a fantastic time! :worship: Yes, accountability is amazing-when I did not feel like making the effort I thought ‘I said I was – I must try.’ My motivation has been terrible since WDW. I did get out for a wonderful leisurely walk and a core workout at the gym. The walkways are almost clear. A little snow/ice and a few muddy-puddles. :upsidedow

Vicky- Where O Where is our little Energizer Bunny? I am concerned.

AFM: Sunday 2.25 slow miles out in the sunshine yesterday.
Out the door now to the gym.
The next six weeks my schedule will be very hectic…extra little ones, bus stops, etc.
But I promise to try extra hard to keep up with the Team Forum!

Enjoy the moments!

Today will be interesting to say the least. I'm meeting the ex to do the taxes this morning, bitter. Then meeting another race walker for a training, good. Then talking out the red head with the sara palin accent for a second date. Sweet.

I'll check in after it's all over.

Go Syko our panda on wheels. :yay:

Margie, yep learning this date thing as I go along.

Dave:hippie:

Hiya Team,

Kristy~ Way to go at it in the race!!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: GREAT JOB!!!!

Dave~ Take your time and have fun! Good luck with the taxes.

Jennifer~ Great run again!

Kim~ I agree with Margie, it's probably just the water gain from the salt in the meals you had. A good workout will sweat it all out.

Margie~ I love how you see the world!! :littleangel:

For the record, Lizzie, my DW, loves WDW. She was actually bitten by a police dog when they bashed down her apartment door and it chomped on her hip. They were looking for a bad guy that lived next door and a neighbor gave them the wrong apartment. :scared1: It all worked out in the end and she actually brought dog biscuits to the department to show no hard feelings.
They apologized of course. No lawsuits.
Don't worrry Margie, I'm a good citizen, I've served in the children's ministry at our church which requires a Federal background check and I've never been in trouble for anything, ever. I'm boring except for my odd humor!!:goodvibes
Okay, a couple of speeding tickets.

Liz has actually been in a bar fight. Some drunk guy grabbed one of her girlfriends on a night out and it turned really ugly, she flattened him. That's my girl (long before we met)!!

Now, back to our regularly scheduled forum...

Mike

Good Morning Team!

Yes, I am still here!!!! As Scott mentioned, we had computer issues this weekend which kept me off the computer. I did get about half caught up last night on my little computer, but it got really late before I finished!

Sue - we are planning to do the DL half marathon over Labor day, then the Space Coast Race (I will do the half, Scott has not yet decided if he will do the half or full) over Thanksgiving weekend. We will not get to any of the WDW races this year. There are several local races of various distances that we may get to - one of our favorites is Bolder Boulder in Colorado. We could not make it last year as Scott had to work, we did it virtually, we may do the same this year as it is just before our long trip to Europe.

Great job on the collective weight loss team! Unfortunately I have not added to that collective number.

Connie - my job with the census is just to schedule folks to take the test we give as an application to work, so in our area, we have not had problems. We have had some problems caused by confusion with the American Community Survey - which is another part of the Dept. of Commerce, but not related to the "2010 Census" - but they are out canvassing at the same time - they are the ones doing the "long form" asking all the stupid questions about bathrooms etc that seems to be getting so much bad press. Most folks do not realize that they are different from the "2010 census", which asks only 10 questions.

Kristy - congrats on the race, and glad you did not crash your chair!

Dave - the only advise I can give you is don't look too hard - I did not find a "keeper" (Scott) until I gave up on looking for one!

I have been getting in my morning dog walks, and I have been good about getting on the bike downstairs almost daily - but I have been neglecting the weight training, so I have to get that in. Our weather has been fairly nice in spite of the snow - we had 2 storms that dropped about 6 inches each - but it was fairly warm, so it was wet snow, and now most of it is melted - the roads are clear and a lot of bare ground is now showing. It is supposed to rain later today, so we may lose more of the snow. With all the moisture, I do not feel too bad about not getting the trees watered last month.

Have a great week team!

Hello! Hope everyone had a great weekend! I'm still here - just a little overwhelmed with little personal issues here and there but I'm slowly working to get things back on track. I've still been working out and running so I'm still on track for my 30K at the end of the month. I've finally finished with a month of alternating 13 and 15 mile runs. I even managed a 15 miler on the TM which I didn't think was possible. I used the TM at my gym and was there for about 3 hours so I had a lot of the trainers asking me the next day how many miles I ran for. :rotfl: I guess I just have a couple of weeks of tapering to look forward to now.

Lynn - Still thinking about the DL 1/2 - I booked a room but haven't registered yet because of airfare. It's not quite as cheap for us to go to LA as it is to Orlando. Hope the weather warms up for you and Scott soon! There should be a no snow rule for March.

Mike - Wouldn't want to mess with Liz! That's pretty impressive that she took on a guy in a bar fight! And thanks for the good laugh with your red flags list!!

Dave - Good luck with the ex and your taxes! Hope everything works out.

Margie - Thanks for checking in on me  I keep forgetting to send you some of my core exercises! Will do that tonight after the gym! I'm glad to hear things are warming up in your area - I guess you can put the snow shovel away!

Kirstie - Congrats on a fantastic race! I can't imagine how much harder you had to work with the brake! Post pics of your award when you can! I agree with you on the cold and speed. I saw pics from the weekend and it looked like everyone was still bundled up in sweats.

Kim - I agree with everyone else, it's probably just the salt. But what's a vacation if you can't have a small treat. Drink lots of water today and the bloat will be gone before you know it.

Sue/Jennifer - I need some of your speediness!! :) You gals are fast!

Connie - Nope, no honeymoon. I wish because at least I'd be somewhere warm (I think :roftl: ). My next race is a 30K at the end of the month. That will be the longest distance I've run so far - just prepping for the WDW marathon in January. How are you holding up with your new house guest?

Hope - Where in WDW are you having your ceremony? I hope you can work through the family drama - that's never fun.

Scott - You're always cooking up something yummy! I've saved your recipe and will give it a try sometime :)

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning, TEAM!!

Mike That was a pretty good list of red flags, but those were just the most obvious! How about:

His grown children call for bail money every weekend.
His grown children have to have the $$$$ to pay their bills, because they had a beer party.
He can't pick up his own dirty underwear off the floor.
His bathroom should be condemned.
He hangs his clothes on the floor.
He sends you flowers immediately after the first date and wants to marry you.
His wife calls while you are out to dinner. (notice I didn't say EX!)
His children accuse you of breaking up the marriage of their parents and he's widowed!
AND, he tries to discourage you from seeing your own children!!

See those and your run!!!!! FAST!!!!

Dave Just fill in SHE where there's a HE and you got some real red flags. Of course, feel free to develop your own based on the following criteria:

What can you live with?
What can you live without, happily, forever!!!

For me, the wife calling while you're out to dinner is a real deal breaker. Left a guy sitting in a nightclub, 50 miles from his vehicle (I insisted on driving) without looking back! :snooty:

Margie Margie, I like to think that it isn't unknowledgeable, but unworldly! And that's a great thing!!!!! You keep up us grounded!

Scott We make the same kind of foods. My personal best usually start like the show "Chopped". This is what's in my basket, now I will make a meal! :woohoo:

Lynn I have never been fond of the census. But I answered it. However, under race I put American. I figure if Africa, Mexico, Portugal, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese and so many other countries could be a race, America could too! -- Glad to know you aren't having to canvas. Looks like a yucky job, to me. I have to say though, 10 questions is kind of misleading. There are questions for each person in the household. That's more than 10 if you don't live alone. ;)

Kristy Wow! you really woulda smoked 'em if you hadn't been running with your brakes on! What a woman! Congrats!!! :cheer2:

Kim My son the COTA, (certified occupational therapy assistant) is helping me with my foot. It is finally beginning to show some improvement. It actually hurts less now than in Disney. I reward him with books and shoes and things he's interested in. I just got him a book on Kinesio taping. I am hoping to have my own personal trainer, one of these days! :rotfl: I guess the weight loss didn't hurt either. -- My daughter brought back my Bodybugg, but I think I may put it up on Ebay.

Jennifer Good luck on that marathon. And you will have to share the details of it and your birthday! :cool1:

Sue Have I mentioned, I want to be just like you when I grow up? Okay, maybe I won't grow up, but I wish that all things workout related came off smoothly!

Vicky Glad you will be back soon. We miss you dreadfully! Take care sweet girl! Hey, we posted at the same time!! Glad you're back!! Good luck with the issues and the race!!! Can't wait to hear all about it!!

Hope This is how you solve the family dramas..... "are you planning to pay for THAT???" Generally works everytime! My DD thought I was kind of pushy about her wedding because I didn't want her to spend so much on it. But it was hers and I helped her every way I could, including paying for the reception and doing the alterations on the gown.

:grouphug: Denise, Jack, Mary, Robert, and Pam Hope to hear from you soon!!!!

It's raining. Jon is working nights, temporarily. It's cold and cloudy and drabby! No outside mud walking for me, but I am beginning to feel like there are workouts in my future!!! My daughter isn't looking to setting in land records for her race, so a comfortable pace is the order for the day. Although, she has been doing the C25K, but she is doing that more for building endurance than speed.

I'm outta here for now! See ya! Connie

Vicky I can't post a photo of my award, as Disney will not give me one.:sad1:

Happy Monday Team!

Connie, Still crazy at work today. I'm working on a joint project. My coworker promised his part in my inbox this morning. It's now almost the end of the day & I'm still waiting. :headache:

Kristy, Congrats on your great race.

Vicky, Glad to see you back.

Yoga for me tonight............Sue

Hi Everyone! I am just poking my head in the door for a message on today's Monday Mixer.

Since Corinna is traveling today, I have volunteered to host the Mixer for a day.

So have a drink, relax a bit and join in the Monday Mixer with us…..
In honor of those who ran the Princess Half as their favorite princess (and other Disney races as their favorite characters), tell us all a bit about your favorite Disney characters.

Good morning, TEAM!!

Connie-- unfortunately that's not the family drama. But hopefully it will settle down before the wedding and we can celebrate. Then, if anything ticks off the woman in ivory, I'm sure the DIS staff will handle it. I'm extremely lucky that my dad said "You can have whatever you want. It's your day. I want pay for it." But I still don't want to go crazy. I just want to gather our families to celebrate a moment in our lives...at the happiest place on earth.

Hope, I hope everything works out. I'm maid of honor in my bff's wedding this fall, so I get parts of the craziness.

Connie, I'll be sure to let you know any details.

Gorgeous weather once again. 3.75 miles in 30 minutes. Track practice tomorrow.

Best,
Jennifer

Good Morning Team! :wave2:

Today they say a high of 55° - cloudy; possible late night showers.
Like Lynn said the rain will help reduce the snow piles. Will miss the sunshine today. It looks like we are starting into the spring, rainy, warming cycle.

Connie- :thanks: That was a very nice compliment. Glad to hear your foot is at least some better. Did your son like the book on taping. It sounds like something we all could use-maybe we could take a class on it?

Dave- :hippie: Hope you had a Great Monday, every things worked out okay, and you had a enjoyable date! :goodvibes

Jack What are we to do with you! :surfweb: Good Morning! Have you found a WDW race you want to do this year? Maybe just pick a month you & family can enjoy going then see what the race is then…

Jennifer- Speedy! :goodvibes Enjoy the Track Practice today. BTW has Bride chosen the bridesmaid dresses?

Denise, MaryJ, Pam, & Robert-
Miss you Guys! :rainbow:

Hope- Young Lady you are way blessed to have a wonderful Dad that so lovingly wants to give you the wedding of your dreams! :bride:

Kim- I hope your foot is not giving you serious problems. Be Careful -it sounds like you are still on your training schedule. End of May is coming fast! The time seems to fly here we are in the middle of March-

Kristy- Our Little Courageous One! :grouphug:
Why didn’t Disney give you a medal?

Lynn Thanks for the information on the Census job – I will tell my friend Pam. It sounds like your snow disappears a lot faster than ours does-nice! :upsidedow

Mike- :thanks: 'The Hawk' I am so looking forward meeting you and your family. :goodvibes Totally support and understand the finger printing & background checks when working with our precious little ones. Calvary has a pretty advanced system also. It checks your fingerprints when you sign in to work. A registered parent (person) must sign each child in & out. We cannot let the little ones go without the proper paper work even if we know the parents.

Scott- Our Guardian- You must be busy this week. Take Care.

Sue- Lady you are Our Inspiration. :worship: Yoga last night – I do not know how you fit everything in – Family, Work, and an amazing workout schedule! :upsidedow

Vicky- Our little Energizer Bunny…it is so nice to have you back! Yes, I would like to see what you are doing. I am still perfecting my core/ABS workout.

AFM: Did get in a short walk yesterday afternoon with my little Hagen. Not sure if I will have time to get anything in today-longer day with 2-extra little ones.

Enjoy the moments!

Hey Vicky, hope all is OK!!!!!! We are going to the Around the Bay expo, maybe we will see you there:hug:

OK, feel better this morning...2 pds are gone:yay:

Good Morning Team! :wave2:

Hope, I hope everything works out. I'm maid of honor in my bff's wedding this fall, so I get parts of the craziness.

Yes, I was incredibly surprised when Dad told me that. I still looked at other options, but it's what I kept coming back to. I think he knew that going in. He still reminds me that "It's your day." I correct him and say "It's our day."

I'm hoping there isn't too much craziness. I've already started with "Bridezilla! Argh!" while moving my arms up and down like a T-Rex. My girls still say I'm too laid back about stuff. The dresses, I just picked light and dark blue and they can pick their own. Reminded them we'll probably do a fair amount of walking so pick comfortable shoes. They're probably still waiting for me to go off the deep end though.

One of these days, I'm going to wear a pedometer to log how much walking I do in a day. Last time I tried, I hit six miles before the end of the day and I still had to walk home so I took it off. I wonder if I still do as much while there.

Margie Disney do not want cranks in any of there races, to avoid any bad press that they would receive if they where sued they let us in but say that we are only there as an exibation, that way they can get away with not giving us any awards and not be sued.:sad2:

For the WDW marathon weekend I am listed as a man in my devision place and they will not change this for the same reasons.

While my Dh was fixing the disk last night he found something else that was broken, so he is going to be calling the company this morning to see what they have to say about it.:sad2:

We have found out they have been sued before, for chairs that where not right etc. I really don't want to have to go that way, but if its our only choicw we might have too.:confused3

Hope I had a WDW wedding, if I can help with any questions just ask.

Vicky  I hope you can work everything out.

Dave Taxes :scared1: my Dh hasn't even started ours yet. This year I have winnings to list.

:wave2: To everyone esle.

Good morning, Lion/pandas/meerkats.....but not warthogs!

Kristy I am appalled at Disney! They aren't doing themselves any favors with this. Maybe, it should be made common knowledge. Do you have any idea why they have this attitude? I hope you get that chair working right and I hope that the company does the right thing because it is the right thing to do!

Mike What a great story Liz has about the dog! Glad to hear there was no lawsuit. LOVE that you work with youth. You are a hero!

Hope Wow, drama and money isn't part of it?? Amazing. Now my curiosity is so peeeked!! :rotfl: A Disney wedding sounds fun! My son was talking about "if he ever gets married again" he would like a destination wedding. I pointed out, that a destination wedding meant taking your wedding guests on the honeymoon with you! He said the guest list would be small!!!

Margie Sometimes a compliment isn't the truth and sometimes it is...this time it was! Glad to hear you are getting some walking in! I am starting to get itchy feets, myself! The wind is just unmerciful. I guess it's the treadmill for me. -- I am going to give DS the Kinesio Taping book. There's another one written for amateurs! I got one written for people who KNOW something first! :rotfl:

Dave Hope your date went well. Now that you know about red flags, things should be easier! :rotfl2: or NOT!

Scott Have you heard about chatroulette? Very bad business. Kids are so dumb!

Lynn Hope your knee is getting better. Bolder Boulder has always sounded fun to me.

Sue Hope that work thing comes under control!

Kim Glad that two pounds didn't stick around. I bet you scared 'em away! There is a Kinseo taping method for Plantar Facitis too!

Vicky The houseguest is gone, temporarily. My DH has to work nights for a while and sent him home. Thank goodness. I didn't want him here when I was by myself. Not that I think he can't be trusted, just didn't want it. He will be back, though. I hope your problems are all little ones and easily solved.

Jennifer (aka speedster) How ya doing?

Jack Are you having a crime wave or a vacation??

Pam, Robert, Shannon, Denise and Marry - Come back, check in!

One of the dramas involves Facebook, the other involves renting (so it's sort of financial). Either way, people are not talking or when they do, they're screaming at each other. I'm glad it doesn't directly tie to the wedding.

The reason why we picked a destination is my family is in Iowa, I'm from PA, and we currently live in NH (the df is from NH). So we didn't really have a location where a large portion of the people where local. I also wanted a small wedding. There was an incident in my past that can cause questions and I want to avoid that of why my parents aren't there and my dad is alive and well with a very close relationship to me.

But I'm getting so excited about it! So we're both working on getting into better shape together. Then hopefully we can continue the healthier lifestyle and when we hit our 25th anniversary I can still fit in my dress.

I'm back!

Just scanned through most of the posts. DH & I went to visit our DD, the one who is expecting. She and her DH are so excited about the new arrival! He had all ready cleared out the room that will be the nursery before we got there. (It's been the catch-all room up until now.) Then he and DH got to work ripping the old carpet out. DD and I helped by stripping wall paper. Today they are going to look for paint samples. The baby is not due until October, but they have waited so long (3 years!) that they just can't wait any longer to get started on this.

My back is feeling better, but the pain has now moved to my abdomen. I have a feeling it might be related to the colitis. Hoping that it will go away on its own as I will be traveling again on Monday. Also, DH and I will be doing the 7K Run of Luck on Saturday. (Dave, you should come on up!)

Dave How fun about the red head! Hope your second date went as well as the first!

Hope Way to go on your plan to stay healthy! I wish I would have had your attitude. There's no way I could fit into my wedding dress on my 25th anniversary!

Later everyone!

Hello Team!

Another crazy day. Really need tonight's run.

Went to "hot" yoga last night. Not on purpose. The yoga studio was unbearably hot. Thought I was going to pass out every time my I had my head down.

Margie, I'm totally blessed with a fantastic DH & DD. We are always planning, making to do lists, etc. to get things done. All household responsibilities are shared 50/50. DH does the cooking what more could I ask for.

Got to get back at it. Have a great evening & enjoy whatever training you decide to do..........Sue

Hello Team!!

Today is my 41st birthday!! The first one post cancer!:thumbsup2 I got someone to take my hours at work so I can chill tonight. We might go out for a late dinner at a local mom and pop place. Maybe a movie too. popcorn::

Vicky~ Don't worry Liz is a sweetheart, she's just mostly Irish.

Connie~ Love your list also. I'm no hero, trust me. I unfortunately had to give up working with the kids when my job changed. Working nights ruins alot of daytime activities, but it's worth it in the end.

Kristy~ It's a bunch of bologna how Disney makes some of their rules because of lawyers!! :furious: That burns me up!! You are couragess and a fellow athlete. I think I can speak for the team and give you a Team Hakuna Tamata "You're NUMBER ONE!!" :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: You are a great competerer for getting out there!!

Mary J~ Hope you feel better soon, I've had back problems and it's no fun.:sad2:

Hope~ Good luck with the wedding plans. It was the second time round for us both and we kept the wedding and reception simple and everything turned out great. Less stress means more memories!! We honeymooned at WDW and loved it. We were treated like royalty wherever we went!!! We wore the Bride and Groom ears and custom made tshirts and had a ton of people asking about them.

Dave~ How did the second date go?

Happy Tuesday, Mike :cool2:
