Hakuna Matata Happy New Year!

Good Morning Team!

Dave, yes exchange your money. Now that our $ has slipped below par you will want to get the most for your money by doing this ahead of time.
Do you have any travel plans? Doing any touristy things or just coming for the race?
Weather? Should be getting quite nice (for Southern Ont.) with it being the end of May. Ave. temp for May 53 degrees & ave. for June 63 degrees.

Not much to report. Pilates last night & tm this evening.

Have a great day.....Sue

We are staying the weekend with Kim (Hockeychic) so it depends on what they have in mind. We are going to a ball game, Jays and Sox. I suppose we will have to pamper the princesses a bit after the race since they will be tired and hungry.

They are talking about the security for the event. The Limo is a vertual tank.

I had my first walk workout since the marathon, it was 3 miles easy with a long stretching routine after. A little deep soreness still but that is to be expected.

Have an awesome day dear friends.

Happy Panda:wave2:

Good Morning Team!

I have not yet caught up on this thread, but wanted to get a post in to let you know were are alive and well!

We are safely home, the dogs have been picked up from the kennel and are romping in the back yard! The birds are back at the bird feeder now that it is full again!

Yesterday was a long day, one bag did not make it in on our flight, but was on the next flight - so we waited at the Denver airport for an extra 2 1/2 hours for our bag - it was the one with all the souveniers from the races, we did not want to lose that! Delta did buy us dinner - not a fancy dinner, but dinner none the less. We got home at 11pm, went straight to bed, as on the time zone we had been in, it was 1am!

Almost the whole time we were in WDW, it was only about 2 degrees warmer there than it was here in Cheyenne! Our sweatshirts got a good workout!

Have a great day!

Hi everyone! It's a busy first day back at work so I'm taking a quick break to check in :)

Dave - The temperature in May can vary. I find the beginning of the month to be cool but usually warms up by the end of the month. It can be around 70F but usually its been cooler. You can use US cash at most retailers around the city but you'll get a better exchange rate if you swap your money at beforehand. Just keep an eye on the rates and you'll get an idea of when to go to the bank. Also remember that if you use your credit card here, your credit will automatically add in the exchange rate for you.

Scott/Lynn - 2.5 hours at the airport! Yikes!

Eva - I'm still not sure if I'm comfortable with the 1/2 distance yet. I dunno :) How did you find training in the winter with the really long distances? Are you going to do the full again in 2010?

Well, I'd better get back to work :) Have a great day everyone!!

I am back at work and ducked out of a road trip, starting to feel tired.

Plenty to do here at my office as the phone never stops ringing, reports, and other things.

Did get a couple of runs in after the weekend at WDW, will see how we feel tonight maybe some weights and TM. Our weather is nioce just windy. Sunny adn 60.

Denise, that is sooo Kewl for Nick.

Time to start getting ready for next year.

Hi TEAM!:wave2:

Sounds like life is getting back to normal for most of us...my cold/sinus's is still hanging in there. :rolleyes2

Connie, Way To Go...I know it must feel Great finally to get your training back on track after surgery. Just take it easy and do not over do!!!! :upsidedow

Went to the gym - 12 slower miles on the bike this morning.

Still a bit chilly here at 15 degrees with wind chill feels like 8 degrees. Too cold to take little Hagen out to play! :cold:

Eva, I am not sure about Detroit. I want to get in 3-4 Half's close to home - that would just be over night trips. Need to save the $$ for Goofy 2010. Looking for Half Marathons in April-May (June) Sept-Oct (Nov). I do most of the local 5ks May-June. Thinking Connie said our 20 week training for the Goofy starts end of August. :upsidedow

Bummer, Lynn! Sounds like my flights to WDW, without the Free Dinner - btw - it was nice to get to meet you guys! :goodvibes

Good morning, everyone!

Looks like it's going to be another nice day here, so I am going to take my walk today on my lunch hour, down on the riverwalk. I am looking forward to it. It's a nice break from the stress at work. :cool1:

Welcome home, Scott and Lynn! And welcome back to work, Vicky! Ho-hum. This work stuff certainly interferes with having fun, but I guess I appreciate the fun more after working for it, so I suppose it's a GOOD thing! Plus there's that added benefit of eating, staying warm and VACATIONING!!!! I couldn't vacation so much without paying for it somehow......

Margie, sorry to hear that your stubborn cold is still hanging on. Here's some more pixie dust for you! pixiedust:

Make a great day for yourselves!

Good Morning Team!

I am trying to get back on a schedule, my main priority this week is the Christmas stuff still up at our house! My knees are starting to hurt again, so I need to use them, they did not hurt for a week after the marathon!!! But sitting all day traveling took its toll on them.

It will be nice again today, but windy, high will be 63, wind 20-30mph. I still need to get dogs (and myself) out for a walk!

It was great to see everyone that we did see at WDW, and great to meet those that we had not yet met!

Have a great day!

I did get on the TM this morn, weights tonight.

HAve a great day, being back at work is tough to get into it.

Morning everyone! It's chilly in Toronto. Brr!!! Luckily I didn't have to stay outside for very long today. Had a restless night after pulling my calf muscle. Ouch! I can't even say I was doing anything cool ... I was just stretching out

Kathy - I always tell everyone I'm only working to pay for my Disney vacations. I agree with you though - the work gives you a reason to appreciate the time off.

Lynn - I found that I had the same problem with my knees. I'm not use to sitting for three hours at a time so my muscles were really stiff after our flights. Not sure there's much room to stretch or even walk around.

Margie - How's your cold? Hope you're feeling better today :goodvibes

Hi TEAM! :wave2:

I am so thankful for You...I so appreciate you care, concern, support, and encouragement...Thank You for being You! :grouphug:

Connie went shopping with me last night ... btw if you need any help spending money give her a call - she's good at it! ::yes:: :goofy:

Lynn, take care of those knees pixiedust:

Thanks for asking - I still am not feeling so very good but a bit better. Now little Brady is sick - if Hagen gets sick he will be living at my house as we cannot take a chance on his Dad getting it, his immune system is not functioning.

Slept in and did not go to the gym this morning. :upsidedow

The temperature says its 22 degrees but feels like 11 degree :cold: but at least we have sunshine! :confused3

Good day, Team!

Lynn sorry to hear about your knees! Man, I know that doesn't feel good. Get better soon! (Planes always make my knees hurt)!

Margie! :scared1: It's not that I can spend your money!!! It's that I know where all the good stuff is!!! :rotfl2:

So, y'all think work makes you appreciate vacations, huh? Got news for you, not working does it for you too! :rotfl:

Today is a rest day, and I think I am going to take it!!!

Good Afternoon All!

Lots of snow still on the roads/ sidewalks. I'll be on the tm again tonight.
Nothing exciting to report. Just seem to be going through the everyday motions.

Take care to everyone not feeling 100%.

Have a great Wednesday.....Sue

Just a quick drive by before I head home...

Denise - That is too funny about Miranda. I was going to work out last night, but I had a terrible day at work and the TV and couch got the best of me.

Vicky - No I'm not registering for any of the 2010 races in Disney. Jordan and I had talked about starting a family after this marathon. I might register for some local races (that are walker friendly in case I have to). About training in the winter...I'll be honest I hated it and swore I will NEVER do it again. After all was said and done, however, I actually wanted to sign up for the 2010 Goofy. It took Jordan reminding me how bad we wanted a baby to make me change my mind. I'm shooting for 2011 Goofy though and hopefully the 2010/11 winter will not be bad as this year!!

Margie - Let's keep each other posted on our Martian decision!

OK...out of time...:hourglass

TTYS!!

My boss was at my desk tonight at 4:30 complaining how dark it was. I said it wasn't dark at all - look outside, we could actually go for a walk tonight if the roads were better. Guess I'm ready to start again.

Actually I love the walking but I enjoy the fresh air outside too.

Had lunch with Miranda, she's still having morning sickness - not too bad but enough to disrupt her day. She worked a 10 hr shift yesterday so she was pretty pooped. 8 days straight and finished it with 10 hrs. We'll celebrate her 30th b-day on Saturday. It was the 13th but we were just back from WDW and she couldn't get the time off. She wants to have Chicken pot pie, banana split cake and mashed potatoes. Now that's a first but she wants bland, not too spicy which is fine with me. I'll make whatever she wants.

Lynn, I feel you pain. I don't have bad knees but 3 hr on the flight make my legs ache and my lower back. Trust me I have enough padding my butt shouldn't hurt but sitting all that time really makes me stiff.

Working, 2 reasons, I am the insurance provider, my pay funds my sons college loan, my fabric obsession and my vacations. Now it will pay for grandchildren toys and all kinds of things to spoil it.:hyper:

Well I didn't do any exercise tonight, which I had planned but we worked on a few chores around the house and that took care of my time.:hourglass

I sure can't wait till the streets are bare, we have at least an hour of daylight after I get home from work. Soon, very soon.

denise

I am back!! :)

Sorry I have been gone so long. :confused3

I have actually been pretty good lately. I have lost some weight (7 lbs) and was doing very well on my treadmill. I even walked outside some! :)

I did my first 3.2 miles all at once last week! (Walking, but pretty fast!) I know, most of you guys are just running 10 miles for the fun of it! But it is good for me!

Then...my treadmill died...Someone is coming to fix it on Saturday! So hopefully I can keep up my walking!

I can't remember who I am supposed to send my miles/hours to and what my dates are...?!?!?

Hi TEAM! :wave2:

Connie-Connie-Connie, okay I admit you know where to find the bargains, you are a power shopper, and you had fun helping me spend my money! ::yes::

Eva, will let you know when I decide...are you thinking of doing Detroit Free Press or the Martian? Ones April - Ones October. If you decide to do Detroit where would you stay? Last year I was in the Marriott uptown, but was not crazy about it. The only positive for us is that it was easy walking distance to the Expo & the start/finish.

Denise- you might need another part time job!

Good morning, everyone!

I am running behind schedule this morning - technical difficulties with my hair! :scared1: I am so styling-challenged! Oh, well.

Denise, I am sure all of us grannies will agree that spending money on grandkids is much more fun than spending it on a college education! :teacher: :rotfl: It's really nice when YOU get to decide what you WANT to spend your money on, as opposed to parenting, where your money tends to go to boring stuff like food, shelter and diapers!

Gotta get going - if I don't leave the house early enough, I get stuck behind two school buses who make numerous stops and then I'm late for work.

Make it a great day!

Good Morning Team!

pixiedust: for those with colds, sore muscles, etc!

I did a 3 mile walk yesterday, then an abreviated leg routine as the knee hurt so much, but I am hoping that the walking and leg exercises get the knee back into shape! It has not hurt this much since before I went to the Orthopod last fall! I even iced it last night when I finally got the chance to sit down for a few minutes!

Still working on putting up Christmas decorations and cleaning house :laundy:

It has been nice here, (but windy), today the high will be 60 again, but the weekend is getting more seasonal, snow and high of 25 degrees! I will try to get out for a 6 mile walk today, but the wind is 25-35 mph, so I will see how I manage to fight it.

Have a great day everyone!

Hello all!

Not bad weather today. Nice not having to brush snow or scrap frost off the car windows this morning. They've taken the snow out of the forecast but very cold temps. for the weekend.

Debating on a road run tonight. Will have to see how much snow melted today. Otherwise back on the tm.

Happy Thursday training......Sue
