Hakuna Matata - Dashing Through December

Hi, everyone,

Sorry to be MIA, the holidays got the best of me. Glad to see everyone is recovering well or staying injury free.

Kipp: Congrats on the corral placement!

Robbie: Way to go on the run!

Lynn: Next year's Christmas cards? You are amazingly organized; I need to learn from you. ;)

Vicky: What are your hotel plans for DC since your friend's place isn't available?

AFM: I was diagnosed with a blood clot in my right leg. The good news is that it is not deep vein thrombosis and I should be running again before WDW. My only race in 2013 so far is the Nike Women's Half with the WISH team (and Vicky!) in DC.

Stay warm, everyone!

Good Morning Team!

Elizabeth - good to hear from you again, glad to hear blood clot wasn't deep vein thrombosis, take care.

AFM - Really cold dog walk yesterday, wind chill of -8F, dinner with friends last night. I am still sore from weights from Thursday, but I guess that is good.

Pixie Dust to all who are in need!

Have a great day team!

Elizabeth I hope you heal fast!

Stay warm all and see ya soon!

Thanks, Kimberly and Lynn, I'm confident I'll be 100% by Disney. :thumbsup2

If I were to drag myself out of bed early Sunday morning to cheer on all of you marathoners, where would be a good place to stand? It can't require a park ticket and I would hope to be somewhere along the first half of the course. Any ideas?

Happy tapering, all!

Did my Half Marathon for the Sandy Hook Elementary survivors yesterday. A memorable experience.

Today, after taking my DD back to college and returning, I decided to do a 4-mile recovery run at the gym. Seven hours of driving and my legs and back were stiff. So running made them feel better. Then I chilled in the jacuzzi for 15 minutes afterwards before heading home for dinner. Not a bad end to Taper Week #1 -- 23 miles.

Hope everyone's week, including the holidays, was fun, remarkable, and renewing. :)

Good Morning Team! Happy New Years Eve to all!

Elizabeth - Sorry, I cannot help you with a good place to cheer on runners, not that familiar with the course. I have cheered on folks from near the TTC, and from right outside Epcot.

Rick - I bet that short run felt really good after the long hours of driving!

AFM - Weather has not been too bad the last few days for dog walks, even got on the bike out to the mail box twice, but I had to walk it to the end of the drive, as the driveway is still snow covered, but the street was mostly bare. I also got in 45 min of Pilates on Sat., and 30 min on the spin bike yesterday. Today will be a bit colder - by 10 degrees.

Pixie dust to all who are in need!

Have a great day team!

Have a great New Year Team!

Happy 2013!

Heading out for a bit in the rain. I won't be running but I'm going to get a few miles in with the dogs. Thinking about buying a pair of CW-X tights for the race to avoid another blood clot. Anyone wear them?

I wear the CW-X compression pants and I love them!
