:santa: Happy December!

It's the most wonderful time of the year!!!

We Jingle bell Rock! Marathon weekend is looming ever and ever closer!

Check in Dates are"

Dec. 7 Suncay
Dec. 14 Sunday
Dec. 21 Sunday
Dec. 31 Wednesday!

It's been hectic at my house with grandkids! My granddaughter went hunting with her Grampa, and got a deer! She was so excited. The last of my Christmas packages are showing up and plans are made for a big Celebration. At our house we say: Merry Christmas! :rainbow:

:wave2: TEAM!

What Connie said - Happy December...Merry Christmas It's winter - light snow flurries melted then froze roads are very slippery. :(

Congratulations to your Granddaughter, Connie!

Denise - hope you are okay! :flower3:

Lynn - :cake: Happy Birthday!

:hippie: Yes, Panda it is harder this time of year to get motivated to train - sure wish I had a training buddy! :rolleyes1

Did get to the gym tonight - 20 miles on the bike, a lower body workout and my stretching. If this weather continues I will need to start using the Dreadmill, as I cannot take a chance getting outside and doing something to this weak ankle again.

Hello pretty princesses.

Yes December is upon us. Sure wish we had done a few long walks before now but we didn't. We will just have to hope that dropping weight, working with weights and doing some regular shorter walks will carry us through. I suppose that we shall see if a healthy life style will be enouth to over come such a challange as a marathon.

We will get some extra training done the second week of December in Gatlinburg. We are hoping for good weather and sun shine.

Magie I wish we could be your training partners.

Have a restful evening y'all.

Good morning team. Merry Christmas to everyone.

No power walking but plenty of walking around the world. MGM yesterday, MK and toured the Poly for a ch ange of pace. Had dinner at the FF last night. It was very good. I had scallops and Mark steak. no dessert as we were too full.

Today is cool and I will have to wear long pants. My knee is still weeping from my road rash and I had hoped it would dry having it in the open air yesterday but no such luck so a bandage and ointment today.

Jennifer,I m so sorry for your loss. Your baby was a valid member of the family and will be missed. I still miss some of my cats.

Dave and Erica have un on your Final training mission in TN.

A grand childchild getting a deer is quite an accomplishment-WAY TO GO!!

We may head to the AK today- it does change at the moment - we have
no agenda and thats he the best part about vacation.

Have a great day!

denise:) :goodvibes

Good morning!

Margie, I will be your training partner. Can you move here? :) Wouldn't it be nice if we all lived in a world that accommodated each of us perfectly?

Denise, I am sorry about your knee. I hope it heals quickly.

Jennifer, Scott's right all dogs and cats go to heaven. I am sorry you lost your friend.

Too bad my granddaughter's big brother didn't get either of the two deer he tried to shoot! LOL She only rubbed it in when he tried to dismiss the fact that she only got lucky, she got first shot, etc.

I am working out my arm today. And make some minutes for the team. I haven't been carrying my end very well.

Make it great! -- Love, Connie

Good morning team! Went for a training session with my PT last night. We did some dynamic stretches to see if we could loosen it up. That seemed to work so he says I'm good to go running tonight. I think I have to remember to do more stretches before heading out the door since the weather is much cooler now.

Denise - Sounds like a great trip so far! Glad to hear that FF is good since I have a ADR there in December. Here's some :wizard: for your knee!

Jen - Sorry to hear about your puppy :(

Connie - Wow! A deer! That is quite impressive! What's the Jingle Bell Marathon?

Margie - The weather has me inside a couple of times on the TM too. I don't like it much either but at least we're getting in the miles :)

That's it for me! Have a great day everyone!

Hello all!

I'm doing the countdown of training runs.
Only 28 more runs to go. Knock on wood the weather is cooperating. For this time of year. No snow & fairly mild temps. 100 times better than last year so no complaints here.

Denise & Margie, take care of yourselves.

Jen, sorry to hear of your loss. Very little compares to the unconditional love of a pet.

Have a great Tuesday....Sue

:wave2: TEAM!

28 degrees and light snow today -

Gym last night then again this morning– the recumbent bikes were all taken, so I did 2 miles on the Dreadmill, then 6 miles on the bike, and later when Hagen was napping a Sweet Long-Distance Training Buddy called and talked me through 2 more miles on the Dreadmill and will try to get in 2 more miles later tonight. :upsidedow

Clean & vacuum this house is on my schedule for tonight!
:rolleyes1

Hello everyone!!! I am new here! Come to join the team! Woo Hoo!

My story is rather long...and I think I have posted a version of it on this board about 3 times today...lol...

But...basically...I am starting from scratch on this WISH stuff. My background is basically that I need to lose a lot of weight and want to train for the 10K. I have 2 "real world friends" that are going to help hold me accountable and help me train...but I just love the disboards! So I am on board for some teamwork here! :)

My goal...a 5K sometime this spring or early summer? Then I want to do the triathlon that I did a couple of years ago...that is also in May. Then...the goal is the 10K in DISNEY!! I love, love, love me some Disney! This is a GREAT motivator for me to get in shape! An excuse to go back to Disney! :)

I am single...no kids, but I do have a precious yorkie named Muffin!

My last trip to Disney was a Make a Wish trip...in fact, I found this board a few months ago when I was looking for the "wish thread" for Make a Wish trips...lol...boy was I lost! :)

Anyway...

I have NO idea what to really do here?? Need lots of help! :)

Nice to meet you guys!!

:) mary

:welcome: Mary! So glad you joined us - This truly is great group of friends who inspire & help motivates us to be the Best We Can Be. :goodvibes

Yikes, Scott - I hope you are not sending that weather my way next week!

Morning Kids, and Welcome Mary, Make A Wish is KEWL!!!

Hit the TM this morn before I looked outside. Also did some weights. Well it was cold and windt, blew over a candy cane, but just a skiff of snow. By the time I got into work here there was a good bit more, well just about an inch.

Enjoy the day work looms.

Hi team-welcome Mary!

Went to mgm last night to see the lights did toystory mania lots of fun!

Mark beat me last night but I had to use my right hand since my left is still sore from the fall. I did have better accuracy than him. Small consolation :). Then we went to Epcot to have a hot dog at the AA and watched Illuminations over by Morocco. It was a brisk 44 degrees but we were dressed for it so it was fine. It's still cool this morning but we'll go out later for the day. Coffee, Regis is our vacation routine then out the door.

No training, still afraid to re-injure myself. Knee is still weeping and it's still too cold to wear shorts so I have to bandage and keep it covered. Mark is supervising the boat launch from the room-yes we can see the dock from the door. We are blessed with a perfect room. Illuminations too if we choose stay in.

Will head out shortly when the temps hit 50. Have a good one.

denise

Good morning team.

Denise, it's chilly there this week Brrrrrr, we had one cold day there in Oct, that was when I caught that darn cold. We didn't have any warm stuff with us. We are going to take some warm stuff in January. We have froze at the late night illuminations.

Mary welcome.

Scott, glad you and Lynn didn't get hammered with the blizzard you were expecting.

Hi Margie:flower3:

How ya feeling today Connie?

Are our Canadian friends frozen in yet? Y'all keep that door shut now ok.

Eva, how ya doing?

Everyone have a super day.

Resting Panda:hippie:

Good Morning Team!

:welcome: Mary!

Jennifer - :grouphug: :grouphug: our thoughts are with you with your loss of your puppy (they are all puppies to me also).

Denise - sounds like you are having a good trip, take care of the knee.

My cold is getting worse, I coughed up a storm last night, had to move to the guest bedroom at 3am so as not to wake up Scott with another coughing fit! I am really wiped out today! I am just very thankful that it is all in my chest and not in my head, I would really be a hurting puppy if my head were stuffy also.

It is snowing and cold today, think I will confine my activities to working on Christmas cards, ordering Christmas gifts, and working on afghans I am trying to finish before Christmas. As today is laundry day, I will get my exercise climbing stairs. The dogs have not gotten off the bed since I fed them this morning!

Have a great day!

Welcome Mary! Just keep track of your miles and your minutes. You have miles when they can be measured, walking, running, etc. You also get to count minutes of any exercise you do. So, if you walk 4 miles and you do stretching for 30 minutes and step for 30 minutes and yoga for 30 minutes and it took you 90 minutes to do the four miles you would report: 4miles 180 minutes! Since you have to have 10 posts before you can send a private message with your miles and minutes, just post them here and I will hopefully find them! :rotfl:

Blustery day in the best Winnie the Pooh voice! It's cold and windy. But that's part of December in the Panhandle.

Make a great day! -- Connie

Hello everyone! :yay: I think I have decided that I want to come to Disney in late Sept (Everest Challenge) or October (Race for the Taste or TOT 13K). One of my friends might join me! I am excited!

So far…three days in a row walking! Good start, I guess. They said to start really slow...so I am... :)

Margie – I am so jealous of your snow! We have not seen snow here in years. We need some! Just a little…it will melt in a day anyway! Thanks for the welcome!

Scott – Make a Wish is totally awesome!!!! Thanks for the welcome!

Denise – I am SO jealous that you are in Disney! I love Toy Story. And I wish we had gotten to see Illuminations! We might have to see that when we are there this next time! woo hoo! :woohoo:

Lynn – You did TOT this last year…how was it? Are you planning to do it again? I think that is the favorite of the races I read about. I like the fact that it starts at night and not in the MIDDLE of the night! :) lol

Connie – Thanks for the info!! I actually have been around the dis awhile (just green over here on the WISH board!), so I can PM ya! :thumbsup2 But…one question…if I swim a mile…do I count that mile?? Or just the miles I do with my feet on dry ground?

Morning Kids, we got about 5-6 inches of snow so the TM and some core work for me this morn, into the office and the walk had not been shoveled, so I did it.

Suposed to get more snow today, we will see.

Mary, three days way to go, very good but do remember that a rest day is good for ya, I learned this the hard way, ran sevral days strait and my tiems suffered, took a rest day and came back with a faster time, who woulda thunk. But very good Keep it up.

We like TOT and will be back in 2009.

Enjoy the day, Denise I hope you are healing up and enjoying WDW.

Morning team! Went out yesterday for a 4 miler with DF. It was pretty windy and because we were going in a loop we hit the wind head on a couple of times. It wasn't a really strong wind but it made us tired after a while. I'm back out again tonight for a quick 3 miler. My knee seems to be holding up but I am running at a slower pace.

I'm also down another 3 pounds! Yay! Just a few more to go before Disney so I'm going to be more careful about what I eat in the next few weeks.

Dave - It's warm here considering it's December. (knock on wood) I'm hoping the snow and the cold weather stay away until we leave for WDW.

Lynn - Hope you're feeling better today! Here's some PD :wizard: for a speedy recovery!

Mary - :welcome: Sounds like you have some great goals set up for yourself :) I'm still looking for a small spring race to register for. That way I know I'll keep myself running in January and February when it's freezing cold!

Denise - How were the lines for Toy Story Mania? I keep reading that the lines are long unless you go first thing in the morning. The weather sounds chilly. Wonder what it's going to be like in January.

Scott - Yikes! I'm not looking forward to the snow here!

Sue - 28 day! Wow! How's your training going?

Okay, that's all for me - make it a great day everyone!!
