Hakuna Kidani, What a Turtleful Phrase!

That fruit & water looks so refreshing!!

Yay you did it. MeMom went through the shark tank!!:woohoo: Good job!

Aw love those cute chubby baby legs.

Seeing these pics really makes me want to go to Sea World again. I will have to plan it for a future trip. We have not been there since 1999. I think it's about time!!

Congrats on making it through the shark tunnel! I remember going through it with my dad when I was a kid because my mum was too afraid to go in! You must have felt like you were inside a creepy shark snowglobe! :scared1:;). Just teasing, it's awesome that you were able to conquer your fear and somewhat enjoy it!

Oh wow, Jill looks SO hot! I've never been to Orlando in the summer, I don't know if I could handle it.

We just have to go to Sea World!! I grew up in San Diego, so Sea World was a summer staple for us. This park, however, seems to be twice as big!! Love all the pictures MeMom! Except the one where poor Jill looks like she's ready to collapse. Sophie's little legs are cute, though.:lovestruc

Hooray for getting through the shark area! I knew you could do it!:goodvibes

Jill sure does look hot. SW dining plan looks like it might be worth it.

Looks like you packed a lot into one hot day. I bet you all slept hard when you got back.

Add me to the busy list. Trying to stop in when I can.

The food was good, and knowing you could get a bottle of ice cold water at any time all day long was a wonderful perk.

And we got to sleep hard at Kidani Village, which was very nice! :thumbsup2

I feel like I am so out of the Distown loop.

Love these. :goodvibes

That's it...we MUST go back to Sea World. I can't believe all the new stuff that has been added since we were there. I love the manatees and turtles.

And :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: for getting through the shark tank...that's awesome!

Jill looks beat from the heat.

You should go and take Avery and Cayley. They would love it!

It is still hard to believe I went through that tank. Looking down at the ground the whole time probably really doesn't count, but I did it anyway. ;)

Awwww, Sophie looks so cute when the carousel started!

Oof. Okay, so that rope climb. We had one at Six Flags, and let me tell you. When kids got stuck at some point in the ropes, or got to scared to make it to the top.....we had to climb out there to help them. NOT my favorite job.

The shark tank looked pretty cool. I can see how it could be a bit overwhelming.

I love Sophie's expression in that first picture. I laughed at her expression in the second one.

The girls enjoy those climbing jungle things, but they don't get scared or stuck. They climb up and slide down, climb up and slide down, and are ready to do it a dozen times over at any given time.

That is just what I was thinking for Charlotte's birthday - probably an overnight, maybe 2 nights at Disney either the weekend before or after her birthday. Then, the other weekend, cake and ice cream at my parents' house for the family. That way she gets the best of both and I don't have to try to throw together a big party in the next few weeks. And, any family who doesn't go to Disney with us will still be able to celebrate her birthday with her (my parents will most likely join us, but my mother-in-law definitely will not) so no one can complain about being left out.

I really want to make Charlotte's cake but I don't know if I am quite skilled enough. She loves to play tea party, so I was thinking a tea party cake, but I wanted to give it a Disney twist so I'm thinking of replicating a Mad Tea Party tea cup for the cake topper. I see lots of fondant play in my near future - and then I'll most likely cave and have Publix make something

Sounds like a perfect birthday plan. :thumbsup2

I look forward to seeing the cake, no matter who makes it! :ccat:

Looks like another fun day! And congrats for braving the tunnel!!

The girls are just too cute, as always.

I am really considering adding a Sea World day this December/January trip - it looks like a blast!!

The Arizona trip was fun - it was a pretty quick there & back work trip but it was very nice. I'll have to head back to AZ again, for pleasure next time. It's a lovely place. We didn't have much downtime but I sure did wish I'd remembered my swim suit -- that pool looked SO inviting.

AND I also missed a milestone - under 100 days until the NYE trip!! Woo hoo!! Cannot wait!! When does your party arrive, MeMom? We get in Sunday mid-afternoon.

Well, the weather certainly should be more pleasant in December than it was in June. ::yes::

We arrive on Saturday morning, the 28th.

It took me a while, but I finally caught up! Thanks for sharing!

Lynn

You came at probably the worst time ever in our trip report history. With how busy real life is right now, things are very, very, very slow on the report. We are glad to have you here, though! :dance3:

It was so nice to have the fruit and water. I think we got strawberries and orange slices twice, but we got water bottles probably about five times!

I did go through the tank! :woohoo: Jill and the girls bought a reward for my bravery later on. :goodvibes

Hope you get that Sea World trip!

I will confess, I did NOT enjoy it. I did it, and I am glad I was able to snap the pictures, but there was no enjoyment in the journey.

And now that you have mentioned the 's' word - snowglobe - I might end up having nightmares tonight! :scared1: Thanks a lot!!! :upsidedow

Oh wow, Jill looks SO hot! I've never been to Orlando in the summer, I don't know if I could handle it.

The good thing about the summer trips, for me anyway, is that I can usually stay longer, so that makes them pretty awesome. You do have to work around the heat. We go out early, spend midday at our resort swimming and chilling out or maybe doing some resort-hopping, and then we go back out in the evening. Even with that plan, though, it is hot enough. We have sweated our way through a Fantasmic line slurping quickly-melting ice cream more than once.

I would love to go to the San Diego Zoo once in my lifetime. I doubt it will ever happen, but I have always wanted to go.

That fat-legged baby girl has croup tonight. She is not a well baby. :sad1: Hopefully the steroids the doctor gave her will help her get well immediately.

I am now caught up. Hopefully I won't get behind again. I have never been to Sea World in Florida but there used to be one up in Ohio and we would go in the summer when we went to visit my mom. Looks like ya'll had a lot of fun while you were there even if you didn't go on any rides.

Hope Sophie feels better soon!

I went to that Sea World in Ohio growing up. I've also been to the one in San Diego once as a kid and the one in Orlando a bunch several years ago. When I was young I wanted to be a marine biologist - then I grew up and realized that the biologist part meant biology and science is not my favorite so I decided to stick with numbers instead!

Oh no poor Sophie! Hopefully the Meds are kicking in.

Hoping Sophie is feeling better quickly.

Thanks, ladies. Jill said she was definitely sounding better. :)

One of our summer trips ahead, we should do another day at Sea World and also go over to Busch Gardens. It would be nice for the girls to experience lots of different places - in small doses. ;)

Hope Sophie feels better soon!

There was a time that I thought that would be a cool job, as well, but I am not smart enough to take all that high level Science. I think I am holding my own at the elementary school level. :goodvibes

I have always wanted to go to San Diego Zoo. If I ever get out there, the zoo and Sea World would make for an amazing trip.

More Sea World pictures tomorrow night, guys. My Thrilling Thursday is packed full from beginning to end. Friday night is a crash night this week, so I can put more pictures up. Thanks for sticking with us during the slow times.

I am totally convinced I need to go to Seaworld after all your fun and fabulous pictures! It looks like a great day!

MeMom, my dad was stationed in Northern California when I was growing up. One of our vacations was a road trip to Southern California (I think I was 7), we went to Disneyland, Sea World, and the San Diego Zoo among other things. It was an awesome vacation, I still have vivid memories of those 3 parks. The San Diego Zoo is amazing! :thumbsup2 We plan on eventually taking the girls on a similar trip - although with all I want to see and do in California it is going to be a long and expensive trip. Good thing I want to wait a few more years so Charlotte can really enjoy it, I'll need the time to save!

Loved the update. I've been missing my Dis friends. Just less and less time at the computer unless it's work stuff:coffee:

I can't wait for more pictures and will get on this weekend to "hang" out. Haha

Congrats on making it through the shark tank! :cheer2: Things like that don't normally bother me, but the couple of times I have done them I am looking up and around so much I always feel a little disoriented and out of balance. :confused3

Interesting facts on the barracudas! So glad you got to enjoy some milder animals like the manatees! :goodvibes And I bet the girls really enjoyed using those turtle controllers. ::yes::

I'm still here - it's been so hard to find time to keep up. I still have to finish my March TR, but just can't get to it these days!

Love Sea World. Would like to go back too. We took the girls on their first trip to FL at 11 mos and almost 3, so they don't remember it. We also went to the one in San Antonio in 2007. Not sure they remember that one much either.

All caught up! Love the look on Sophie's face when the carousel started! LOL Definitely need to put SeaWorld on my list of places to see!

Yay for you, MeMom, for getting through the shark tunnel! With all my crazy fears, I completely understand what it's like to have to overcome a fear to be with family, haha. My insane fear of buffalo has made it so that I HATE restaurants like Texas Roadhouse because of the animal heads on the wall, but I've had to push through and walk with my head down (clinging to Howard) to get to our table for family celebrations!

It's Friday...LOL! Where is the update?;):rotfl2:

Sorry couldn't help it...I am all caught up on my trip report reading.

Have a good weekend!

Lynn

:wave2: Wahoo! I finally got a chance to get all caught up again! Take your time with your wonderful trip report. I know I’ll keep reading, no matter how long it takes. Love being a part of your trips! :thumbsup2

We have had Seaworld AP’s for 14 years. We rarely spend more than a couple of hours (unless we are entertaining visiting friends & family). We just love to go hang out, see our favorite things and then head home. It is just a very relaxing place for us since we never have anything we have to go and see. My DD actually got a job there this summer and loved the time she spent there & at Aquatica. She wants to go back next summer and she is a very good CM because she has seen the great example set by Disney's CM's.

Last time we were at Florida’s Seaworld it was over 20 years ago! I’m sure a lot has changed! Although, a lot of the stuff looks a lot like ours her in CA. You saw all our favorites: polar bears, mingos, turtles, dolphins and rays. We used to have manatees but they took them out and replaced with a beautiful turtle area. I love turtles, but still really miss seeing the manatees. We have never seen the new dolphin show since they changed it, because we agree it is too much acrobatics and not enough dolphins!

I am really missing Disney as my AP expired and I just can’t justify getting another with both my DD’s in college now and my non Disney DH not wanting to ever go. :confused3 Everyone has been either at DL over our Fall Break, or at WDW so it is sad, but good to see the fun they are having. Guess I’ll just have to just settle for pictures for now.

My favorite picture so far is Sophie’s reaction to the ride. How funny! :rotfl2: Love the face she made.

Hope I can stay caught up with report this time. Take care of yourself especially with the second job! Sounds like your super busy. I totally understand the need for extra money, I may have to go and get a second job as subbing just doesn't help much towards tuition bills. :faint:

Wow, I've fallen far behind. 5th grade is all consuming!!!

I think we walked for well over an hour that night looking for turtles. The sad thing is that Marc and I found more than one up on the beach laying eggs before you came down...

The CM from DAK, Matt, was really nice and we can't wait to go back next summer and join him for morning nest digging. He actually invited us to help him dig the freshly hatched nests to count the hatched eggs, collect data and dig up the babies that haven't made it out of the nest. I guess it pays to be from the middle of nowhere (where his dad was born) I was born and raised in Emporia, Kansas and his dad is from Lebo, Kansas. Lebo is a tiny place that is "famous" for their fried chicken house and a neighboring community to Emporia. When he said "Lebo" I immediately said " best fried chicken ever", and we became instant friends! The rest is history!

As for those of you that asked about the craft that I did with the girls, I did get it from Pinterest. It is called Fairies in a Jar http://www.pinterest.com/pin/167266573633003665/
It's really easy to make, just buy the tulle, I used a plastic jar, and dollar store glow sticks.
Have fun, just be careful of the glass in the glow sticks!
