Hakuna Kidani, What a Turtleful Phrase!

So fun to see some Sea World pictures! Maybe one of these days I'll venture off Disney property and check it out! Did yall enjoy your time there?

Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

We did have a good day. We'll probably go back again someday.

MeMom, that food looks very yummy. And I wish Disney would bring back the napkins with the logo on it. :(

I love the Shamu show. I really need to get back there to see it. And what a cute picture of Brooklyn and Bella with the trainer.

I was thinking that if Sea World can afford printed napkins, so can Disney World. ::yes::

The girls enjoyed the shows. I can easily see Brooklynn enjoying a job there.

Stopping in for a quick hi! Loving the Sea World pictures. Hannah would love it! We need to add it to the plans one of these days.

Good to see you, friend! Yes, I am sure your kids would enjoy it, too. It is not Disney World, but it is nice in its own way.

Love the update!

I also might way to try Universal in the next few years. Disney will always be my favorite though.

I've done Universal a few times. I'm not really too drawn to going back. I think I would do Sea World a second time before I did Universal. Of course, if the girls decide they want to go someday, we will. :goodvibes

Nice zoo pics.
LOL, the ‘dung” t shirt.
I hate rude people and loud speaking ones too.
Love the pixie jars.
Glad Sophie was okay.
Did Bella see “Blackfish”? LOL.
I saw the movie about the animal secrets. I will not go there. I canceled our plans for December though it is more of how the whales live in such a confined area and their punishments if they misbehave. It is an eye opener just like “The Cove” was for dolphins.
Nice pics.
All caught up again.

Those guys were not acting in a very 'magical' way, by any means. They were just being jerks, to be honest.

Glad you got to stop by for a minute. Glad you got a date for your surgery. We're here to encourage you along the way. :thumbsup2

 You didn't ride the Mingo boats?! ;) Your waterfall picture is really pretty.

No, because of time and extra money, we didn't do the boats. Bella didn't really seem to mind. If she had really seemed excited about them, we would have done it.

That waterfall was pretty. ::yes::

Love the pic of the girls with the trainer.:goodvibes

Gotta love free dining.:thumbsup2

Sea World dining was 'THE BOMB'! :cool1:

How did I miss that Disney doesn't have theme park napkins anymore? Did I have them in February?

Great Sea World update. We took Abby when she was 10 months - it was my first time. I really liked it and hope to bring back both girls soon. Next Disney trip planned in Oct 2014 (way too far out), so hopefully then we can take them.

We just got back from a week in Sandestin. A lazy beach trip was in order and that is exactly what we had. I really loved just "being" with my girls and husband. Chasing sand crabs, building sand castles, watching Abby dance on the beach. Simply perfect in every way.

They got rid of printed napkins a while back. When we got to Vero, they had some, and I was going to get some to send to a friend who mourns their loss, but by the time I thought to do it, they had run out and gone to the plain ones, too!

Glad you got that relaxing trip. :cool2:

Apologies to everyone for not getting to your trip reports more often. Life is super-duper busy these days, and I am up to my eyebrows in things to do. I will get there and catch up eventually, and I do think of my Disney friends all the time! I wish we could have a huge DIS meet weekend just to sit around and talk and get caught up.

I just subscribed to a few more TR's to keep me busy. Looks like it is back into the hospital for me today.:sad2:

Hope you feel better soon, Doreen.

I am back from 9 days/8 nights at Kidani and caught up on your trip report, MeMom. Other than that I am caught up on nothing! :scared1: Hopefully by the weekend I'll be feeling caught up again and hopefully updating my trip report with all of our adventures.

We love Sea World! The year Peyton turned 2, we thought she was still too young for Disney (we were wrong, but didn't know any better at the time) so we decided to break her in to theme parks and Orlando with Sea World annual passes. We had a lot of fun spending time there that year, but the next year we became Disney seasonal passholders and we haven't been back to Sea World since. I think at some point we will let our Disney passes lapse for a little bit and do Sea World again so Charlotte can experience it. I'm not sure when there will be a time that I will be ok with letting our Disney passes go though! :confused3

Thank you. Had a great night last night so hopefully on the mend!
:)
9 Days at Kidani:thumbsup2. Hope you had a great trip!!

Good Morning MeMom:).

Loving all the Sea World pictures. I haven't been there in years. One of these days, maybe we'll make it back. But when I'm that close I can't seem to give up a day to my beloved Disney World. ;) Maybe someday! :thumbsup2

The girls are so cute in all their matching clothes. How does Jill do that? Does she have them specially made?

The dolphin shows are always so much fun...aren't they? And I don't blame you for not sitting in the splash zones. We never would either.

Have a great day!

Thought of your cuties this past Sunday. At the end of every CBS Sunday morning, there is a moment or two of nature. This past Sunday it was a giant Flamingo gathering! Maybe you can catch it on youtube or somewhere.

Speaking of television...in the "You can't make this stuff up" department: My son Jerry (former Disney College Program and former Disney Concierge) taped an episode of 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire?' that will air twice in the next few weeks. In the NYC area, it is on twice a day. The first time it is on is 107 AM!!!! Tomorrow morning. Don't have the day for the Daytime showing yet.

There is a new host (Cedric the Entertainer), and without ruining it, I can say that Jerry did a little bit better than his wife, who won money on Wheel of Fortune earlier this year. Who would believe I would know two game show winners, never mind being related to them!!!!:cloud9::love::cloud9:

Glad you got some DIS time, at least. ;)

I cannot even explain how busy I have been this week, and how busy I will continue to be for the next several days. Makes me tired just to list it all.

Disney annual passes are beautiful things. I think I will be getting new ones in December, but now that I have decided to cancel March, I may wait and do that in July. Either way, I think I can get three trips out of a pass. :thumbsup2

How nice to be able to take a WDW trip when it is not crowded! :goodvibes

Disney still gets my top dollars. Since the others didn't have passes this time and were not ready to renew, we decided this would be the time for us to do Sea World. i am glad we did. We enjoyed seeing a variety of different animals than are at Animal Kingdom.

I don't know anything about the game shows. Many years ago, I watched Jeopardy and Family Feud occasionally, but I don't know if they are even on any more. I need to go on a show and win a few thousand dollars. ::yes::

I will have to look up the mingo meet. Thanks for telling me about it.

Love everything from Sea World. We honestly have not been there in years. I think I was like four or five the last time we went.

Wow, I totally must have missed the napkin situation at Disney.

MINGO BOATS!!! Love it!

'Twas a sad day when the cute Disney logo faded away into plain brownish napkins. :sad1:

I feel sure we will got back to Sea World again, but it will probably be something we will do just 2-3 times over the girls' childhood years.

I will have some better shots of mingo boats later.

Moving on....

there was a game area.

Happy Harbor

The one ride we did all day.

Look at this sweet face!

But when it started....

:rotfl2:

She got used to it after a minute and was okay with it. Can't say she enjoyed it, but she was okay.

Other things in this area.

The girls did climb around on this for a few minutes.

Poor Sophie was worn out from the day's activities and the heat.

If everyone had been able to, I would have enjoyed riding this.

We went to the Arctic by way of walking instead of riding.

Learning about polar bears.

That's one swimming around.

How far to somewhere warmer, please???

I like those pictures of the Kid's area. We didn't go over there on our SeaWorld visit; it is all new to me.

Your Sea World pictures are great! Makes me feel like I am right back there. I think this is going back on the to do list for sometime relatively soon.

Apparently, we have an odd Spring Break next year - maybe really early compared to Easter? Anyway, for the first time our Florida Resident Seasonal passes will not be blacked out over Spring Break so I'm thinking we may end up at Disney, if I can talk DH into it, that is ::yes:: I'm going to have to wait a bit to broach that one, last week was a little bit too much for him so we'll have to wait and see what works best for the whole family.

That picture of Sophie's reaction to the carousel is so funny. :rotfl: I'm glad she ended up liking it. It reminds me of seeing Brooklynn's first barnstormer ride on you long ago trip report.

Fun update. What a cute carousel. I don't think they had that back when our kids were little and we used to go. Poor Sophie's face...from happy to what have you got me into?

Those were real polar bears? They didn't have those the last time I was ther either.

I definitely think we need to go back.

Oh Doreen I hope you get to feeling better soon.

Thank you Pat. I need to get caught up on your TR also!! I am on the mend & feeling so much better tonight. I really felt like today was a turn around day for the better!! I am telling my colon that it needs to cooperate since we leave for Disney in 2 weeks!! I think it is finally listening.

MeMom you cancelled March?

Aw seeing those pics of Sea World makes me so want to get back there but I always hate taking a day away from Disney. I just need to bite the bullet & do it.

Oh my gosh little Sophie's face when the ride started.:) Too cute!!:cutie:

You guys would not have had any interest in that section. It was strictly for little bitty ones. Even Brooklynn was less than thrilled with anything over there.

Hard to imagine there being 'too much' Disney, huh? ;)

That is exactly what I thought when I saw that face!

Sophie's face is priceless! She wasn't sure about that!

I love both of those pictures. I think she looks so sweet in the first one, and then I scroll down and see the  face. :rotfl:

Sea World has added a lot since I was there last. There are still things I want to see, so I feel like we will go back again maybe within five years.

So good to hear that you think you are 'on the mend'! You need to be looking like this :earsgirl: in two weeks.

The only reason we were able to force ourselves to take a day away from Disney is because the others did not have updated annual passes. I was the only one who still had an active AP, and Jill didn't want to pay one day fees for a Magic Kingdom day, since we're so spoiled to having the passes. The timing was just right for us to go to Sea World. And that free dining thing was an added plus. :thumbsup2

I doubt there will be a March trip. If there is, it will be a long weekend just to make sure I live through the rest of the school year. I am barely able to afford this upcoming December trip, so I think it will take me the next six months to be ready to go again for the family summer trip. If my income tax refund looks good, I will celebrate with a long weekend spring trip, if Jill is able to go, because you know how I feel about those. :dance3:  :yay: :woohoo: :cheer2: (Do you get the picture?) Just the thought of going through the winter without that 'reward' in the spring makes me . Then I feel so selfish and spoiled for feeling like that, so I beat myself up all the way around. My plan is to get a new AP in December, and it will cover December, July, October, and possibly, maybe, hopefully, yet doubtfully, a spring weekend.

I was telling Anita, I am so addicted, and unfortunately my addiction is a very expensive one. I wish I could be addicted to something cheap! :upsidedow I got a part-time job to help, but I think maybe I need two full-time gigs! :faint:

If I ever win the lottery you will never have to worry about having money for Disney but the chances of that are very slim so don't get your hopes up.:lmao:

Are you enjoying your part time job??

I know the addiction comes at such a high price. We rarely go out anywhere to save money all year for Disney & Cody's college tuition. I know what it's like.

At least you are planing on that AP so that is good! I think Jeff & I will be getting them in 2 weeks because we want to go with the boys in May.

We also decided to do the Halloween Party this year so I bought tickets the other day which was crazy since I was not sure I was even going but we will be there! So excited as my sister & brother in law have never been this time of year so this will be their first F&W and party.:dance3:

Have a wonderful Friday MeMom:goodvibes.

I keep hoping to win the lottery, but since I don't play any more, that's not likely. :upsidedow I used to give a dollar a week to a teacher friend, and she got tickets. I couldn't tell you what kind. I figured for a dollar, I had a dog in the fight, and if it was meant to be, it would be. Apparently, it was not meant to be. She retired, so I don't give the dollar every week now. Of course, in not doing that, I have assured myself of a $52.00 win every year. :)

When no one is here, I am good about not spending money. No eating out except for an occasional dollar menu something somewhere, movies, shopping, etc. When all my kids and extras are here, I spend a ton on food, and we often end up at the mall, which is not a good thing. If I just didn't have kids and grandkids, I would be okay. :scratchin I guess I will keep them around, though, and just get used to being poor. I always have been, and I always will be, but it's all good. I am very blessed and quite happy. :lovestruc

Yay for the Halloween party! I hope I make it next year. I'm not really 'into' Halloween, but a Disney Halloween party is a whole different thing! I think your people are going to love MNSSHP and Food and Wine Festival. I am betting it won't be their last time to go in the fall!

I do enjoy the part-time job. I get to be around a lot of people I know. It's hard on my bum leg, but toughing it out means more Disney money. It's a physical job, so it's good for me to move around even when it hurts. It gets a little long after a school day, but it is worth it. I will start at 3:30 this afternoon and leave around 10. I will be ready for my Friday night crash when I get home.

It is good that you enjoy your part time job, but not so good that it makes for some long days for you. I was thinking of trying to find something to add some extra income at home, but with a full time job and two little ones, and DH - I think the stress of time away would far outweigh any financial benefit.

DH and I are definitely not on the same page when it comes to "too much" time at Disney. After our 9 day trip last week I know he is done for awhile but Charlotte has been going on and on about all the fun things we did while we were there. Yesterday morning on the way to school she said she wanted to go see Cinderella and give her a cuddle. My initial reaction was to look at the clock in the car and calculate what time we could get to Magic Kingdom by :) Luckily it was already after 7 and I couldn't see missing rope drop if we were going to go all that way. :moped: I think there's something a little off about considering kidnapping your own kids for a day trip to Magic Kingdom when you've been home for less than a week. :faint:
