Haircut?

My hair is getting really long, and I've finally decided after over a year and a half its time for a haircut.

this is my hair now.. well back in May.

My friend and I are going to Galveston at the end of July, so I also wanted something easier to deal with in the hot Texas weather.

I really really like this haircut.

I want honest opinions on if I should, or if that's to much of a drastic change for me.

Everyone always tells me I look at least a year older when I get my hair cut short. That will be the shortest it has ever been though.

I am bringing it. Mastercuts NEVER does my hair how I want them too. They always do something like it, but they say that they changed it up because they wouldn't have liked it the way I wanted it. So I'm getting a local beautician to do it. She's very good.

What texture is your hair naturally?

It's naturally really curly. But I straighten it everyday. It's not thick when I cut it short, but it is when it gets longer. That's why it bothers me so much now.

Hm, I'm not so sure it would work with curly hair. You would have to have an amazing straightener, which it looks like you do already. The only thing I'm concerned about is when you don't want to straighten it, it might look pretty crappy curly. My hair is curly too and it's about that length and it doesn't look that great, TBH.

Also, it might make your head look bigger because the hair is so straight and flat. Would it be long enough to put the front layers back in a ponytail?

That's JMO. Do I think you can rock short hair? Yes absolutely. Do I think you can rock that specific cut? Eh, I'm not so sure.

& also remember that straightning your hair all the time can sometimes do some serious damage to your hair...

Yeah, and in that photo, Hayden has a heart shaped face with rounded features. That cut on that shape face looks fine. Kelsi, it looks like you have a more oval shape with angular features.

One of the hardest things about getting your hair cut is to remember to base your cut off someone with a similar face shape. I admit, I haven't had a haircut since July 2007 because of the chemo thing, but I went in asking for a Victoria Beckham bob. VB has a more oval face with high cheekbones and straight hair, I had a diamond shaped face with high cheekbones and wavy hair. It came out nothing like VB.

Because it's summer and it's very difficult to keep up with. I just wanted something different.


But my dad said I'm not getting it that short; so I'll either get it to my shoulders or just go get layers put in it.

Just dont cut it too short, always remember that it can always be cut shorter in an instant, but it cant grow itself back in a day.

I have a hair appointment Saturday at 1pm. I'm bringing that picture down there into the women who's going to cut my hair. The picture doesn't look like it has any layers at all.. so I'm just gonna tell her to put some long layers in it.

Wish me luck; I'm kinda nervous. But everyone has told me she is really good at cutting hair and she'll make me love it. I'm just ready to get rid of all of this!!
