Hey all, a few questions for those of you who have just been to disney. They still do the hair wraps at most resorts right? (we're staying at WL) and they still cost around 1.50 an inch plus the cost of beads? I looked into getting my hair braided and they told me only the hair dressers at select resorts will do that, so I'm sure its very expensive so I'm getting mine done at home I get the corn rows just across the top of my head and it's only $30 but I work at an amusement park in the summer and all the kids comment on the hair wrap (we do them at my park) so its also good incentive for the kids who can't go to disney to get one just like mine-for the same price, but in PA. Let me know bout the hair wraps tho..thanks! and just imagine how much money disney would make if they did baby braids in the parks/resorts at .50 or a buck, buck and a 1/2 per braid plus beads!!!

:cool1: I know the Caribbean Beach does them, my daughter use to get her hair done every year, but we had to stop a few years ago. Every time she came back home with the wrap she would go back to school and she would play with it all day, and the teachers were calling me up and telling me she was distracting herself with the hair wrap!:confused3 So, from then on, we don't get hair wraps anymore! I also seen them done at the Boardwalk too.

:tink: 24 MORE DAYS UNTIL OUR DISNEY TRIP!:tink:

My DD got one done at WL and they did a great job. It cost her $24 and her hair is just past her shoulders, the braid was done at Christmas and is still in now. They also sold clip on braids

DD got her hair wrapped at CBR last July and it is still in her hair. I looked at it yesterday and it is starting to look pretty shabby. I believe that it is $1.50 per inch and then the beads are separate. If you want a trinket to hang off the end, it is $5.00, but if you have one of the AAA Diamond Discount cards and you show it to the CM, it is FREE!:thumbsup2

Thanks for the help..it looks like our families will be at WDW at the same time!! I'm hoping my parents do something special for me for my graduation (i'm trying to convince them to let me do the dolphins in depth or parasailing) but we're hoping that it isnt crowded so we can use all the free tickets and stuff that they gave us!!

My DD did this at the Poly last September and it lasted over 2 months until it started to look like it was coming undone at the top. It cost $35 for DD, her hair at the time was half way down her back and she picked out a bunch of beads as well as the charm for the bottom.

The wonderful woman that did our dd hair wrap was awesome. We had it done right on the boardwalk and this was in July. She told us the ones that do them move around and that she was previously at BC before arriving at the Boardwalk. She was also very knowledgable and recommended to us that we had a part of our daughter's hair in the back underneath since it will break and damage the hair (plus it would be cheaper... but it was still $30 for us due to dd's length of hair). She also said not to leave it longer than 2-3 months at most. It was ironic though right at 2 month mark, dd's fell out! It wasn't a big deal since you couldn't see where it fell out from and it is now in her trinket box of keepsakes from DW!

Good luck!

I've never had my hair wrapped before and dd was too little last time to sit and have it done. However we're going down to ASMo for a quick weekend in July and a week at Thanksgiving. I'd like to have hers done but don't know what to ask for. Does the person recommend where to place the braid? I wouldn't know what to ask for!!

Most of the resorts do them by the pool. I have also gotten mine done at DTD it was near Once Upon a Toy I believe and it was the same price as the resorts, they might even do them at the waterparks now too. You will see a sign that says hair wrap and you will see the little station (dont ask for a "braids" they will think you are talking about corn rows which you get like on a cruise). Ive had them at the top of my head and at the bottom (underneath) and it stays better in the bottom (i think they recommend getting them done at the bottom). You get to pick colors, ( i usually pick 3) and then you can get beads to match the colors. If your resort has it there, I think we charged mine to my room, but I'm not sure if they still do that, or if we did it for sure, so I would take cash just incase (its $1.50 per inch plus the cost of beads, they can give you an est. if you want) and of course tip them a few bucks at the end. Last time I went with my fam, I got the wrap in June and it lasted until the first of Sept but I was also 20 at the time and knew not to mess with it or try and brush it!! lol. Hope this helps!

So then do I just say that I want a wrap? And then request the underside of her hair? Does anyone have a picture of what it looks like? I don't know why I'm so confused by this :confused3

It's actually right behind the ear and when your dd wears a ponytail it can just hang down. They seem to stay in longer when you place it here. If they put it in the top/front of hair they don't last as long and you have to be careful when styling the hair. Also it can cost more since it's the top of the head versus the closer to the bottom. i think I might have a picture of DD having this done but I'm and idiot when it comes to posting pics. I will have DH do it for when he gets home.

I'd love to see a pic of these! I'm heading down in October and would love to have it done.

I will try and see if I have a pic of mine anywhere, the one year i got 2 of them done, 1 at the top and 1 at the bottom, i just wish they did the braids like on the cruise, i'm sure ppl would pay top dollar to have them done. As long as i take family vay-cays w/my parents we will never go on a cruise so I wont have the chance to experience the braiding on the beach so I just get mine done before I go to disney, my hair dresser does it for 30 and puts in neon colored bands and i'm sure she would put beads in too if i really wanted it!!

Here's a picture of our daughter just after she had it done.

Here is my DD. I wanted to post the picture of her getting her hair wrap done but it was taken with the water camera instead of the digital. This is the best i could do.
