I know this is a crazy question for some of you - When you have two young girls 6 & 9 this is a "very important question" - We had them done in Disney last July - This year is our Universal/IOA vaca and I was wondering if they did them anywhere and where is the best place to go for them? Thanks to anyone who can answer!

PS - The one from Magic Kingdom lasted for 6 weeks (when we took it out!)

I remember seeing hair wrapping stations in Toon Town and Jurassic Park at Islands of Adventure. My daughter got hers at the Pool at the Hard Rock Hotel, and it came out great!

My DD desperately wanted to do this in June, but the charge was VERY high in my opinion. $150 to do her head with the hair from skull down unbraided. We checked city walk and parks. Maybe it is different other places.

$150.00 does seem expensive to me too,, but is your DD's hair longish? They charge by hair length I thought, so that could be why it was so much. When my girls's hair was long, they started the wrap just behind the ear, which made it a bit cheaper. I love them too, may have one done this time ;)

A hair wrap is when they take a small clump of hair and wrap it with string very, very tightly. You get to choose colors for the strings! Usually, the cost is $1.50 per inch!
I am assuming that the other poster was quoted $150 for corn rows...which is total head braids!!

There's a hair wrap stand at Toon Lagoon in front of the ampitheater. I believe there's one at USF in front of the International Food Bazar.

Well, this is sightly related to your question.... :)

When we were at WDW in June, DD5 wanted her hair wrapped at the Polynesian pool. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depends on how you look at it..) the service is provided by a 3rd party and they do not accept room keys for payment. (it was all I had on me) We never made it back.

When we got home I bought a book from the Klutz series on hair wrapping. I haven't tried it yet but it doesn't look too hard. In the book they use floss that you use for cross-stitch so you can find that cheap enough. They also show you how to add beads. The book is $14.95 and I bought the book at a.c.moore using a
40% 0ff coupon.

Let us know how you make out making your own hair wraps. I'm not very crafty but would love it give it a try on my DD's.

My daughter had a single strand of wrap done. The stand was in City Walk, but there are several others as well. I believe it was $1.50 an inch, for a total cost of about $20. It lasted for MONTHS!

My daughter has had her's wrapped at IOA by Toon Lagoon and HRH. HRH is the cooler place to do it. She had her face painted at the IOA Arcade and tried to tip the girl but she would not accept it?

The hair wrapper at HRH sure did!
