We are thinking about staying at the CR on our next trip. My kids just adore WL but I think we should try something new. It just sounds so cool to look out your window and see the castle. Does CR have a stand by the pool for hair wraps, or do you have to have that done in their salon?

Unfortunatley no, they do not have a hair wrap stand at CR. Here is a list of all the hair wrap locations (perhaps you could have it done at one of the parks):

Animal Kingdom Park: At Island Mercantile open during Park Hours

Disney-MGM Studios: Muppet*Vision 3-D Courtyard 10am - 7pm

Magic Kingdom: Caribbean Plaza near Pirates of the Caribbean and next to the Ring Carver open during Park Hours

Blizzard Beach: On Right as you go through Turnstile open during Park Hours

Typhoon Lagoon: Near Singapore Sal's merchandise shop open during Park Hours

Downtown Disney Marketplace: On Dock behind Goofy's Candy Co.
(overlooking the marina) 9:30am-11pm Sunday - Thursday / 9:30am - 11:30pm Friday & Saturday

All-Star Music: Between Main Pool and Melody Hall 4pm - 11pm daily

All-Star Sports: Between Main Pool and Stadium Hall 4pm - 10pm daily

All-Star Movies: Between Main Pool and Cinema Hall 4pm - 10pm daily

Animal Kingdom Lodge: Uzima Pool 12pm - 5pm Saturday & Sunday

BoardWalk Resort: On the boardwalk 6pm - 10pm

Caribbean Beach: Old Port Royale Main Pool area 10am - 10pm

Grand Floridian: At the Beach Pool near Poolside Cabana 10am - 5pm

Polynesian Resort: Nanea Volcano Pool 12pm - 5pm

Pop Century: Near the Hippy Dippy Pool across from the pool bar 4pm - 10pm

Port Orleans Riverside: Near the bridge at Riverside Marina 9am - 5pm

Wilderness Lodge: Pool Deck at Main Pool at Lodge 10am - 5pm

Yacht and Beach Club: Stormalong Bay Saturday and Sunday 10am - 5pm

*Old Key West and Port Orleans French Quarter also have stands but they are closed for the season.

They used to have someone doing hair wraps by the pool at the Contemporary. They were there in the summer only and not if the weather was bad (rainy, cold, etc). I don't know if they are still going to have someone there this summer or not.

 I hate to sound stupid but...What is a hair wrap and why would I need one? :confused3 I am always a little "behind" in the times and often oblivious to many personal upkeep services--just found out what a brazillian wax was last year...WOA!! I wouldn't do that...OUCH :sad2:

:) LOL it is more for the kids, although I have been known to get them too. It is when they take a section of hair (usually in the front, on the side) and wrap it in different colors and beads. It is just cool, nothing that you "need to have" they are just fun...

See...I told you I feel stupid! :lmao: But alas--no question is a dumb question. Glad to know its not a personal upkeep service.

Thanks for the info! Now where did I put that hot wax.... :rolleyes1

My favorite hair wrapper so far is on the boardwalk. The hours above say 6:00 but we were able to get my daughter's done around 5:00...so I think the hours are flexible based on the wrappers availability.

CSR had a station by the main pool as well on certain days. Has this stopped? It was there in April 2005.

my dd had a wrap at animal kingdom and it was eleven dollars-she did not pick any expensive beads, just basic beads and some silver spacers, her hair is short , i guess price goes by length of wrap and beads you pick-which adds on to the price, it still is in her hair from feb 2!!

Taking this hairdo thing a bit further.....anyone know of any stands in the parks or at Disney resorts where they do the hair braiding? It's like tiny sections of hair braided from scalp to ends, either full head or half head. And any ideas of prices? Thanks!

From what I've seen that type of braiding is done at the salons only. I've seen it done at the YC and the Dolphin. Not sure of prices.

They charge per inch, so it's pretty pricey. I think it's around $2 or 3 an inch. I seem to remember spending around $35-40 for both DDs to get their's done outside POTC last month.

If you click on the thumbnail below, you can get a bigger version. If you zoom on either DD, you can see the wraps. DDs also had their faces painted...
