Question for all you past cruisers........
Is there a hair salon on the ship where you can have your hair done for the formal nights? And also do they do nails?
I wanted my DD 16 and I to have our hair done for that night.:sunny:

Yes they do have a hair salon on the ship - My husband and I both had our hair done and we were both really happy with it! I am really picky about who does my hair too - But she did a fantastic job!!

Had my nails done as well - Although it was a sale pitch the entire time - She must have shown me 8 products (no kidding) - I have read on these boards before that you can tell the CM that you do not want a sales pitch and they will oblige - Just a heads up for ya!

Also - I do not know what the age limit is for the salon - I don't know if your 16 year old will be allowed - Hopefully, someone else will know for you!

Does anyone know what the prices are at the salon? I'd like to add a "do" to my budget for formal night.

Thanks.

My sister and I had our hair done-but it wasn't just done! It was more like a makeover. We each had highlights and a cut/blow.

I have dark brown hair-now with blond highlights! I look great!!! Giles said "Trust me?" I said "Go for it!". and he did!

My sister has light brown hair, very wavy. He highlighted her hair, too. Her results were more subtle, but gorgeous!

I also had a manicure/pedicure. No sales pitch because I fell asleep! I did buy some products. They were no more expensive than an upscale Manhattan salon. I was not shocked.

I love my new hairstyle!

Guess I have to go back every six months, now.;)

Do you need to make reservation for the salon? Do you have to do this when you first get on the ship like all the other reservations you have to make, Palo's, spa etc... Does it fill up fast?
(I wish you could make these type of reservations before you get on the ship maybe at the 60 day mark....just a thought....so you don't have to run around like mad when you first get on board)
I think then I will wait until I get there and have a makeover too! What fun!!!:wave2: :sunny:

On embarkation day, they offer free hair consultations where you discuss that you would like to do. Then you make the appointment. Commonly, it is the first day at sea-formal night.

Get your Palo reservations, then hot-foot to the Spa. Hair reservations on formal and semi-formal nights fill up fast. The cost is about $60.

The hair salon is part of the spa. That means age 18 and older ONLY, and they make no exceptions except on the teen manicure day. Yes, they do adult manicures, and yes you do need an appointment. Since they fill up fast for formal night, book as soon as you are on the ship.
