Okay, this is not my most pressing concern, but all of you out there with curly/frizzy hair can relate (you know who you are ! :teeth: ) On our last cruise I had major hair issues. My curly hair went wild from all the moisture and wind on deck. I'll bring my share of Frizz-ease and StickStraight but looking for other suggestions. Would shave my head bald before letting it ruin my vacation, but I'd like one decent picture with my family! Ah, such worries.......

remember to bring conditioner - the shampoo conditioner combo just doesnt do enough and w/the sea air - conditioner is definately needed

I am use to soft water, and found that I REALLY needed conditioner on the ship because they don't have soft water.

Funny you should mention 'hair' stuff, when we were on the ship about 6 weeks ago, I decided to just put on hair up in a bun one day and I had a 'curly fake hair' scrunchie around the clip holding up my bun. Well sometime up on deck 9 the wind much of blown the scrunchie off into the ocean! We laughed about lookin for a fish with curly brown hair swimming by!

So be careful of what you wear in your hair on the top decks. It is VERY windy!

I know how you feel! On our first cruise I had very short hair so it wasn't a big deal but I have let it grow out and the slightest bit of moisture or humidity and my hair will puff up like a blow fish! It is almost long enough to pull it all up in a ponytail and hopefully I can wear it curly using mass hair products and look ok. I don't want to spend much time with the blow dryer trying to smooth the fuzzies:p Do bring your own hairdryer as the one in the room is useless for blowing curly hair straight!! After a couple of tropical drinks it doesn't seem to matter as much what our hair looks like! LOL;)

I feel for you. I had this problem also. I used to have very long hair that was wavy and curly, but not in a cute Meg Ryan way. So my hair dresser talked me into cutting it short, then she straightened it. It is just like a perm, only they don't roll it in curlers, they spend 20 min. just combing it back and straight. I had this done 3 weeks before our cruise. I really did not think it would work. But, even in the heat and wind I had STRAIGHT hair, for the first time in my life! I will never go back to frizzy hair again.

Oh boy can I ever relate! I have the very curly (sometimes frizzy) thing in a major way! I always wore it long before so I could use a ponytail if I needed. I just got brave recently and cut it - no more instant fix! I have now learned to love HEADBANDS! They are great for those days in the wind, or when it just isn't behaving.
Good luck

Don't know how long or how curly/frizzy your hair is, or if this would work as well for you... But, maybe try this???

Pull it all up, kinda tight, with a really good hairclip that will stay in place... creating like a nice 'Fall' from the crown...

My hair is on the wavy, frizzie side - and when it is long, I wear it like this a lot. DH loves it this way!!! This looks great either on the beach, or even at PALO with a little 'taming' and a beautiful decorative hair clip.

Instead of fighting my hair with rollers, straitenng, etc... I found that this is way to work 'with' my hair.

See? I felt funny posting such a weird question but I knew I wasn't alone! You're so right about the hairdryers in the rooms not being enough, I plan on bringing my own industrial strength one! Thanks for sharing, people with thin, straight hair just can't relate! Got a few chuckles and some great tips!

DH thinks I'm crazy--I've been laughing hysterically after reading this thread--while waiting for my hair to dry after my "pre-cruise" perm!

I'm the straight-haired, thin-haired type. I guess we're never quite satisfied with what nature provides!

I'd rather have my hair curling and frizzing rather uncontrollably than hanging perfectly straight! It's long enough that I can stick it in a pony tail or a bun, but I need my curls!
