Sorry for all the questions lately, I'm just so excited and we're getting pretty close. :teeth:

So what's the best thing to do with your hair? I have medium thing thick, very curly hair and I usually put it in a ponytail, but I was thinking a bun might be better.

I also bought this super cute blue MM hat, but I was wondering if it would actually make my head hotter.

Your opinions? What do you usually do?

I have the same type hair as you and I always wear it in a ponytail during the day. I have found I just don't like the hat thing! I just wear sunglasses to keep the sun out of my eyes. I usually shower mid-day after the pool break and generally wear my air down in the evening! But we go in early to mid-March and it is cooler in the evenings and I get COLD easily. So having my hair down on my neck helps at night!

I have wavy sholder length medium hair and I wear it in a ponytail everyday at the world. It is all one length so it is very easy to pull back. I hate to waste precious park time by doing my hair! I also forgo the makeup. I tried a hat once, but I got a terrible headache so I now just wear sunglasses.

I get up and put my hair back while it is wet and where a hat or visor. I found just sunglasses didn't cut it down there and plus I tend to sunburn on my scalp easily.

Also, no make-up for me!! It is just too hot.

If your going in Sept the weather is very humid and can make curly hair very unmanagable  (I know) so my suggestion is keep it up when you can... buns are a great way to keep it neat and tidy.. U can also wear some cute headbands (Disney ears). :cool2:

Maybe this is a good place to ask this question about hats..... My DF and I are planning on wearing the micky ears the whole week during our disneymoon. I have no problem with it for me, since it is a headband. And he is VERY excited to wear his groom hat - but I am wondering if it will get too hot for him - anyone have any experience with this?

We all wore our Mickey ears everyday for our trip in September, and though it was hot, it never got too bad. As for the hair, I have long straight hair which I wear in pigtail braids while down there as it makes it easier to wear a hat.

Headbands. Yes I plan on buying and wearing one of those mickey ear headbands. I'm also taking those thin, stretchy headbands. I wear those a lot at home.

I'm thinking I'll put my hair in a bun. =]

Shoulder-length wavy hair. Ponytails. If I wear a hat (I do if it is sunny but we usually go off-season) I pull the pony tail through the back of the hat. Disney World is why Scunchies were invented!

When I went in July of 04 my hair was past my sholder blades, wavy and extreamely THICK! I wore my hair in either a messy bun down low, two braids, or just low ponytail.I couldn't do the hat b/c it made my forehead itch when I started sweating. I just wear sunglasses the bug eye kind as DF calls them. We went to sea world half way through the trip and i found a straw flopping hat that had the big wide brim on it, and that was nice to wear and wasn't hot at all.

I have very long hair and have found buns or braids to be best, because my hair does catch on things. I usually leave it down and curly first thing in the morning so I can take some pictures (yes, I'm a girlie princess) and carry a hair elastic with me. I don't think I've ever been on Pirates when the person behind me hasn't accidentally pulled my hair because it slipped over the back of the seat

I can't stand baseball caps when it's hot (how do guys do it?), but I am going to try a straw hat this September and hopefully keep some of the sun off my scalp... The humidity generally prevents good hair days at Disney anyway.

I swore off perms a LONG time ago. But, with extremely thick mostly one length hair just past my shoulders, I have a hard time with it. It's too thick to wear in a bun at this length (the hair won't wrap around itself) and I get really bad headaches when it's just pulled back up high on my head - it's growing out so it's getting heavy again - which is why I cut it in a fit of pique before. I just don't think it looks as good pulled back straight very low at my neck, but would a perm - not old fashioned corkscrews, but just very wavy - help update just pulling it back low at the neck? Hmmmm, ladies (and gents if you have an opinion), what do ya'll think?

Oh, I'm right there with you on contemplating the evils of the PERM. :scared: My hair is straight and thick and heavy and I like to wear it curly, but curling irons and hot rollers take sooooo long. But I'm not sure about going back to the perm -- although I do hear that they are much better these days.

Anyway, for your bun situation, I pull my hair into a low ponytail, wrap the elastic once and then don't pull the hair all the way through on the next twist, so it's kind of a cross between a bun and a ponytail and a mess. Taking it down for a few minutes a couple times a day helps alleviate the heavy hair pain, too. I'm almost considering lopping a couple inches off before we go, because it kind of hurts now, without all the pressures of Disney on it...

I have long, very thick hair and it has a mind of it's own in humidity. So, I either wear it down and shampooed, wet with a visor (Mickey, of course!) or a shampooed, wet ponytail. Starting out wet seems to keep it under control and it's also cooler! I also will get a ponytail headache, so if I need to take it down, I just keep the holder on my wrist.

Oh wow! I'm totally jealous that all of you have such thick hair. I have really thin hair. I am growing it super long for my wedding. I am trying to figure out a good way to wear it during our Disneymoon. A bun just looks pathetic because it ends up being so small and not full. I've tried to create a messy bun with fly-aways everywhere, but that's harder to perfect with longer hair (or maybe I just don't do it right). Sometimes I wear it in 2 braids with a hat, but the braids are so thin. Any ideas anyone?

Have you ever tried twisting it up in one of those big clips? The ends have that little "flip". That can give the look of lots of fullness and it's out of the way and cute!:goodvibes

I always just put my hair in a ponytail. I don't wear hats or sunglasses, and I'm fine.

hey jenny :)

yeah i'd suggest a bun...because if it's REALLY hot...and you're hair's long enough, a ponytail will irritate the back of your neck.
And a hat is good because you aren't squinting all day...but it give you terrible hair when it comes time to take it off.

I HIGHLY recommend a hairband (not a hairband) but the kind that wraps around your whole head, to keep bangs/fly-aways our of the way. :D
