Hair Emergency

Well, as much of an emergency as hair can be.....

I just scheduled a job interview, and they want to meet much sooner than I expected! Like next week!

I currantly have a big red streak in the front of my hair. Not all that punk, or anything they even cared about at my currant job, but still obviously fake and not really how I want to make a first impression. The rest of my hair is really nicely highlighted (obviously highlighted, but normal blondish brown over brown.)

Problem is, I really don't need to go back to the salon for another month or so, and I hate to spend the money for a professional color and cut. Any suggestions on ways to cover up the front bit? Favorite products? Color tips? I really don't want to do my whole head one shade, as that kills the normal highlights.

I figure, worst that will happen is that I screw it up and have to get it fixed professionally.

I'd just go to the salon. Red is the hardest color to get out of your hair. A regular coloring session in a salon is cheaper than an "emergency" session where they have to fix some horrible mistake you've made at home. (I should know... I've had to go through it myself a few times. )

Yeah, I know I won't be able to get it completely out...but I'm hoping to tone it down to something closer to brunette or auburn. I may just try a semipermanent product unless I hear any better suggestions :)

They should be able to only color the red streak with foils.

Best to have it done by a pro than it look weird for an interview.

Bleh...obviously this was not what I hoped to hear, but what I deserve for being addicted to my Newbury Street Salon. I guess I'll bow to the inevitable and pay out the cash.

What about hair color stripper? My friend once dyed her hair the wrong shade of red and bought this stuff at the store that took most of the color out. If your hair is already brown under the red you may get an auburny type color that would be good enough. I don't know if it works on hair that has been dyed awhile or not but worth looking into.

Please take my advice boxed hair color and professional products don't mix. I would go to a professional and let them deal with it. My hair was so damaged because I was low on cash and decided to do things myself. It took many conditioning treatments and trips to the salon to get my hair looking normal again. Unfortunetly your hair is the most visable part of you.

Good luck in your interview by the way :thumbsup2

Could gel+pulling hair back conceal it at all?
