I just got back from my first stay as a DVC member at Bay Lake Tower in a Studio room. I noticed we didn't have a Hair Dryer, is this normal for DVC rooms? I called down to house keeping and they brought one up to me but I didn't know if I should pack one in the future or not.

All the bathrooms should have a hair dryer.

Sometimes they are hidden inside black pouches in a drawer instead of being wall mounted.

Almost all are hidden in a black pouch. The only place that still has the wall mounts that I know of is OKW. Perhaps SSR, but I haven't stayed there in years.

You might find it in a drawer or in the cabinet. I have seen them on the shelf in the closet.

:earsboy: Bill

I think our dryer at BCV was also still on the wall last trip...

Consistent inconsistencies. :lmao:

Our consensus is that mousekeeping likes to play hide and seek with the hair dryer so we always make a game out of who can find it first. No. I'm not kidding.

Find the Hairdryer is just one of America's hotel housekeeping games. I think that the most nefarious hiding place can be the back of the bathroom door trick. Unless you close the door, you'll never guess where the dryer bag is hanging.

This is just one of many "games" is frequent hotel travelers play which also include:
Guess which channel CNN (or Food Network) is on
Wonder if housekeeping will ignore the DND sign on the door
How to set the bedside clock to the REAL time
How to turn off said bedside alarm
Where is the magic light switch
Find the AC outlet closest to the bed to charge my iPhone
Trick the air conditioner to stay on while I sleep
And the always-popular How does THIS coffee maker work? :confused3

:rotfl2: So true!!

On one stay at BWV I called down to housekeeping to get one sent up. I swore I looked eveywhere! Then, as I took one last look I noticed the little black bag at the back of one of the sink drawers. One minute later our second hairdryers was delivered. :rolleyes1
