Did I hear correctly that there was a place to get your hair cut on main street in the Magic Kingdom? I have a 9 1/2 month old who doesn't necessarily need much of a cut, but if there was a place there, it might be cool to have her "first haircut" there.

Anyone know any details?

Thanks!

Kathy

Do this for sure! What magical memories of a first haircut!

We went last year when my daughter was 10 months old. It was such a great experience, and we have gobs of photos and video to share with her when she gets older. The place is the Harmony Barber Shop. It's off to your left next to the fire station after you pass under the train station when you enter the Magic Kingdom. We went first thing in the morning, and we didn't have to wait at all. Cruella DeVille happened to be "lurking" at the Barber Shop, and we have great shots of her laughing at my daughter.

The barbers (both female the day we were there) were great. They gave my daughter a little spinning Tinkerbell toy to distract her while they trimmed her bangs. They also gave my son, then 3, bubbles to blow to entertain her also. They posed for all sorts of pictures, gave us a baggy with her first hair clips (plus a little added pixie dust), gobs of stickers to both kids, and the best part was a specially monogrammed set of Mickey Mouse ears -- "First Haircut" (which of course she wore for only about 10 minutes, but long enough for photos). The amazing part -- only $12 (plus tip). One of the best bargains in all of WDW!!:D :D

We were there this past Tuesday, the 11th. My daughter is 3 but it was her first haircut by someone else besides me. We arrived around 9:30 and had about a 5 minute wait. At first she chickened out, until they broke out the bubbles and toys. I only had them trim about 1/2 inch as my husband would kill me if I said to take more. They did a WONDERFUL job. My little girl sat through the whole thing with no problems. They even gave her the braided princess hair style, added pixie dust, gave her a hat which she did wear for a couple of hours, her hair that was cut and a certificate. Well worth the memories

If someone could tell me how to add photos to the thread from your hard drive, I could post some...

My Son wa 6 when we had this done. He loved that the put blue and green gel in his hair. He got alot of attentipn all day! He realy loves the fact that he didn't want pixie dust in his hair so they snuck up and threw it my hair! LOL

Please don't laugh, but I am going down with a friend who has never been to disney before. At the ripe age of 43 I would love to have his hair cut at the barber shop. Is this a possiblity? or do they do this for "1st cuts" only?

Yeah same question, I'm 27 and I want my hair cut as well.

Is this 'just not done'?

Just be prepared for a wait if you're not there first thing. DH waited about an hour and even got orange gel and pixie dust. DS chickened out, but the lovely barber gave him his requested blue gel. It's $15 (plus tip) for an adult haircut.
