I have done a couple of searches for this information and I still do not have the exact answers I am looking for so I am asking in a new thread.

When is the earliest time you can go make a reservation to have your hair braided/wrapped? Where do you go to make the reservation?

Thank you. Both my DD6 and DN7 want their hair done as soon as possible.

We just sailed on the 10/30 Magic. You make your reservations the first night of the cruise at 5:30 just after the sail away party. Your Navigator will tell you where to go. The first appointment was on Sunday. I forget where that was.

I opted for the hair braiding on CC, as the women there are very good and come from the Bahamas. Word had it that the braids last longer as they are done much smaller. We are home two weeks and my daughters still looks great. You cannot sign up for CC braiding until Thursday morning. That was done in Mickkeys Mates.

Hope this helps!

My daughter had her hair wrapped at Disney in August....we just took it out about 2 weeks ago! The braids lasted about 2 weeks until they looked really ratty but the wrap was still nice looking after 2 months but she was having her Christmas pics done and I didn't want it in there for them LOL. The wrap is done with a few strands of hair, the braids take much more hair.

The sign up time and location varies on each cruise, so you won't get a clear answer on that. Just check your navigator when you get there. On our first cruise, the sign up wasn't until the 2nd day. I went to guest services when I didn't see it on the welcome aboard navigators and they told me it would be the next day, up by the Goofy pool.

My DD had the braiding on the ship. It lasted for about 3 weeks. It does get a little fuzzy after a few days. The finer your hair is, the quicker it gets fuzzy. Hair braiding does hurt, so if the girls are tender headed, be really sure that they want to go through the pain. Also take spray sunscreen and use it to avoid very painful sunburns!

My daughter is a really rough sleeper which only adds to "fuzzies after braiding. The women on the island said to use a sleeping cap to help with that. I have a nice satin type cap that we have for when we get braids done. Think I got it from Walmart. I also have slicked done the fuzzies with hair gel.

***For fine hair. smaller isn't always better....You end up needing more braids which cost more $. The head braider on the island has been there for years.....She is quick and does a great job...
The ladies on the ship did a good job too. I may wait untill our last day at sea because then it won't cut into my CC time.
