Hair and Makeup Services

So I am sure there is a thread somewhere already but I couldn't find it!

I am trying to get quotes on Hair & Makeup services for the wedding. What experience does everyone have with any vendors? I know Beaute Special has rave reviews, but any others?

I'm going with Beaute Special for my hair. I was originally going to use Yolanda, but unfortunately it just didn't work out. I'm sure she is great, but I'm a control freak. She doesn't use a contract or take a deposit and she's not always the most prompt with communication. My nerves just couldn't take it.

For my bridesmaids I'm currently using the Grand Floridian Salon. However, they are doing some research on their own to see if there are other vendors that they would prefer. The Grand Floridian Salon does not have a contract or take a deposit, but they are very responsive in their communication.

i had good contacts with the grand floridian. first i called the ivy trellis salon because i was just going to go there, but they let me know they had a special wedding contact with niki bryan.

i was contacted the same day, and they gave me the pricing chart and let me know they can come to the room and i wouldn't have to go to the salon. they didn't take a deposit, but did send me a write up confirmation for my day.

i think it'll work out great.

How early should you book someone to do hair and makeup?

I work with Debbie Holland www.debrasdos.com - on a regular basis. She's fabulous and charges $65 for hair and $60 for makeup (or viceversa) but doesn't charge a travel fee or for airbrushing. I work with every week (I work as an actress).

Anyway, I highly recommend her and her team. She's wonderful!
