HailtotheVictors Pre-Trip (4/1-4/9 ) & Trip Report (4/9-4/18)

HttV, your beach pictures look like they were shot by the Chamber of Commerce. Beautiful!

Our Alabama Gulf Coast beaches on the Redneck Riviera are the same.

Wouldn't it be great go home with a tan? :beach:

We got a decent amount of sun yesterday. So far it's raining and cloudy today.
You will be happy to know just about everyone we came across so far today are from Alabama.

That is the Destin Harborwalk, from there you can do fishing charters, zip-line, and free fall. They also rent boats and kayaks. There are some real nice restaurants there also. It is a nice place to explore, with the different shops, and they are open late because of the night life down in that area.

The RV resort looks really nice. It's been a few years since we went to Destin, but I really like the area.

Enjoying the pics.

We did a little sight seeing today and hit a few shops. Last night we went to Baytown Wharf which was a good time. Certainly would like to spend a little more time here next time through.

Rv resort is real nice and clean. Privacy is decent and have not had any problems. Sites are not huge but have plenty of room and are fairly deep. Good location with a nice beach access across the street.

I always took my bike on vacation and I rode past the rv resort a number of times. I never realized it it was that big or nice. You can't see very much from the road.

A beautiful campground with a beach across the street, bacon wrapped shrimp and then the Fort.
This trip report just keeps getting better. Can't wait to see what's next.

Well I'm a little behind. Sunday we left Destin about 1.5 hours late but got on the road and pulled into the fort around 530 or so. I had requested 324 based on reviews and that is the site we received. The attendant said had we been here last week that probably would not have happened.
We got set up, ate dinner and went down to the settlement to check things out and then moved over to the beach to watch the water parade and fireworks. Our son (2-1/2) surprisingly made it up for these although an untimely "I need to go potti" cut the fireworks short. About that time the rain moved in anyways so we called it a night.

Today(Monday) we woke up made breakfast, walked the dogs and headed to Downtown Disney. We were the only ones on the bus at our bus stop and only 4 others on the bus headed to Downtown Disney. Seems like this week will be fairly uncrowded for Disney standards... we'll see. Went to a few shops, took pics and then headed to our 11am lunch reservation at T-Rex. Food was decent(Although I really enjoyed my Meatloaf more than my wife enjoyed her meal), and it was timed perfect as the rain fell in buckets for about 30 minutes while we were eating. Stopped just in time for us to leave and give us that true Sauna feeling as we walked around. Left there and headed back to the Fort for some Pool time. Headed to Fireworks/Parade.

A few pics from the day as well as a couple from our site when we set up.

For not being a park day yesterday we kept busy running around between downtown Disney, the pool and picking up a few supplies. Tomorrow is a non park day and we plan on spending a little more time at the site doing some grilling and relaxing. Today we were at Hollywood Studio in the am, Magic Kingdom in the early afternoon with a return trip for fireworks.
Report and pics soon. .

Next we had a fast pass at Toy Story midway mania.. I used the DSLR camera so I do not have any of these photos loaded yet. DS loved it!!!
We walked around a bit more hit a few shops and headed to our last fasts which was the Frozen theatre performance. He usually loves singing "Let it go" but he actually fell asleep prior to that song so it ended up being a good rest time for everyone. After bit of walking around it was time for a boat ride back to the fort..

After some rest at the fort and a little time with the dogs we headed to Magic Kingdom..
(Note: From here on out most photos were taken with the DSLR Camera so the photos will be a little more scarce until I get them loaded)

We mostly walked around, took pictures and did a little shopping. The DS & DW rode the Carousel and we all did the Tom Sawyer island. This was a quick trip and soon we headed back to the Fort for a little rest and our dinner reservation at Crockett's.
