This is nothing. Just wait until I start posting the plans once the rest of our gang arrive. That will truely be planned down to the minute! I plan, plan and then plan some more and then try to balance to plans I made with going with the flow once we get there

We have some newbies with us for this trip and I want to make sure they get to do and see as much as possible without killing them

I don't want to scare them too much in the walking that is about to happen to all of them... they already don't understand why we need to book NOW for a trip that isn't happening for a couple of months still...

I agree newbies are the absolute best. I also love big group trips. The more the merrier I say. that your friends fall in love with Disney and you guys can plan more trips in the future.

I know! I tell people that I train for my Disney vacations by walking several miles a day starting a couple months before we leave and they think I am crazy .

When I tell people they have to book ADR's at 180 days out they look at me like I've lost my mind! In their head they see it as being 6 months away and don't understand! And then of course a few people don't listen and don't get what they want!

it's almost impossible to tell new people about planning a Disney trip... they don't "get it" until they are there and see what it's all about...

then they come back and apologize!

Completely agree. I actually don't mind so much when people think I am crazy. It really bugs me when people think I am anal and obsessive. I can honestly say that we see and do more than any one of my friends have ever seen or done at Disney. My aunt who as been to Disney more than 50 times went with us for the first time in September 2010 and was amazed at all the things we did that she had never done

Day 1
Saturday September 13th
Part 1​

This will be the first time in several years that our whole family has vacationed together. We will also have my first born Niece, her hubby and my first born Great Niece joining us on this day. I could not be more excited!

I am pretty certain that Kenny, Gabriel and I will drive down the night before and probably stay at the Doubletree in downtown Disney on Friday night. My plan is for me to head over to BLT by 7am to get us checked in. I don't expect for our room to be ready but do want an opportunity to plead my case if I do not get my room request.

Once I have us all checked in, I will head back to the Doubletree to get us packed up to move to BLT. We will hang out by the pool until Emily, Justin and Caroline's plane land which will be around 1:30pm. They will take the Magical Express to BLT and I definitely want to be there when they de-bus!!! In fact, I am tempted to have Kenny drive me to the airport and drop me off so I can ride the Magical Express with them. Because we live so close to Disney and always drive I have never gotten to ride it and I really want to experience it once. I think Gabriel will want to ride the bus also.

I cant wait for Emily, Justin and Caroline to be going through here!

Chelsea and Ashton will arrive around the same time as Em and family since it is only a 5 hour drive from Chelseas house. Ryan and Alexis won't arrive until 6:20pm unless we decide to fly them in the night before. I expect that everyone except Ryan and Alexis will all be at BLT at the pool by 3pm.

We usually take about 2000+ pictures on our trips plus I have always bought the Photopass CD. For our 16 day trip in May I plan to do a resort tour so I can get as much of my own pictures of the resorts as I can!

I am working on the post for this special night now. This is just one of many special evenings we have planned for this trip which is going to be legend - wait for it - dary!!!

This will be Caroline’s first interaction with the Disney characters. I think starting with the fab 5 is the best option. I just hope she takes to them. I also want to get Caroline a Minnie Dress to wear to dinner. I am tore between the traditional Minnie dress:

Our Dinner reservation will be for 7:25pm. I am really hoping that Ryan and Alexis will be there in time for dinner. After we finish dinner I want to head back up the room for a night time toast to really kick off our big family vacation. I am also hoping that we can watch Wishes from our room this night (that will depend on whether we get our room request) .

If we can, we will just stay in the room and watch the fireworks. If we can’t then we will head up to the Top of the World lounge. The fireworks will be at 10pm this night so we will put the kids straight to bed when fireworks are done because we have an early reservation with some Princesses the next morning!
