Guess what happened today? A British nuclear submarine and a French nuclear submarine knocked into each other during their daily slinking around. No major damage or injury, just pure embarrassment.

They say they didn't detect each other due to their being über-advanced and all stealth etc., but I can't help but suspect that the crews were playing poker :upsidedow

SOMEONE forgot to use a turn signal................................

FYI it didn't happen today, it happened a while ago and it just now came out.

Submarines, contrary to popular belief, don't float around with their sonar on all the time (when it comes to sonar, if you can see something else, it can see you). Their whole role is to be invisible, silent, and very hard to find. This sounds like just a freak accident; an embarassing one for both crews, but not entirely unlikely to avoid given their modus operandi.
