Haha detention subject.

Ok. So I'm usually a good girl and my parents get super mad when I get reports home from school [or anywhere really] saying I've been bad.

Now I'm really actually proud of my first detention not being because I slugged someone. But I'm kinda foggy on how to tell my parents. I mean I know it's not that big a deal but my mother or father will probably most likely have a fit. I hate disapointing them so. Any advice on an easy way to break it to them that their little angel got a detention xD.

I'd probably just say....

"Hey, I know you aren't going to be very happy with me, but I got a detention at school. Let me explain it first. I accidently turned in a paper late and they said my teacher reminded me, but I never saw her that day. Even so, I'm sorry I got a detention and I'll try not to let it happen again."

Sorry if that's not the exact reason, I can't remember the exact reason.
I'd probably just tell them why you got the detention and tell them you're sorry.
I know what you feel like, my parents would have a fit if I came home with one too.
