As we all know Disney are well behind in offering free/low cost internet for guests, but I was wondering if anyone has tried haggling with them???, I have no intention of paying $140 for the entire trip (would pay for the odd day), but wondered if a wee bit of charm might work :).

Never tried, in August we stayed 16 nights, paid $140. I doubt they would haggle but you don't know til you try.

I doubt it would work as when you click to go online it clearly says you agree to pay the fee of $9.95 for 24 hours. With clever usage you can but your costs.

DVC members are the only ones to get free internet and then it should only be when staying on points.

In an effort to keep the cost down, I tend to have internet every other day.
eg. Monday evening - Tuesday evening then Wednesday evening - Thursday evening....and so on.
In this day and age, internet is a way of life and I think that Disney take advantage. Much lesser establishment can offer free access to guests, so why not Disney. :confused3
On occasions, the speed is no faster than the old 'dial-up' :sad2:
Good Luck!

I don't know if this helps but, internet at WDW is charged by a 24 hour period. So If I buy internet at 4pm Tuesday, I have internet until 3:59 Wednesday. So if you worked it right, you can almost get two days of internet for the one charge.

This may help to keep the cost down a bit.

I've just got back and they made a mess of my internet bill in a good way, didn't get charged for at least 2 days access so it was a lot less than I had budgeted for. However this was more a mistake on their part, there was no way of talking them down as Elise79 says there is a terms and conditions page as soon as you access the internet

We tend to go to a coffee shop and get internet with a drink we have also found free internet at the Premium Outlets, by mistake:rotfl2:

I wont pay for internet at Disney for the whole holiday but might for a 24 hour period once or twice on holiday

Is there anywhere on Disney property where you could pick up free wifi with an iphone or similar?

Cheers guys. We’ll probably buy it 3 or 4 times over the 2 weeks send the kids some pictures, don’t worry it’s not a Sun Headline “Parent leaves kids at home” thing, they are both a Uni and very jealous we’re going without them lol.

I’d be interested to hear if there was any wifi spots in Disney, seen a post from a few years ago with a few hot spots (got a friend checking them out :) )but I’m sure Disney will have cleaned them up.

So do you pay for the internet at the desk, or when you plug the cable in??

It is charged to your room account. You agree to the charges when you actually connect to the Internet.

There were a few wifi hotspots (open wifi networks) around but they were useless! Couldn't even load Facebook! I tried several times while in the parks.

We found a few at Boardwalk because a few people did not have private laptop internet accounts:rotfl2: but it wasnt Disney themselves

What you think of as "charm", the cast members think of as "oh no, not another wheedling cheapskate guest". Unless you are DVC you pay for internet.
