Had your tubes tied? Be careful!

I had pictures taken. Tubes were cut and ends cauterized. Looked good to me.

My doctor used "clips" (clamps) when she did mine - she claimed they have a much higher success rate. Here's hoping she's right!:thumbsup2 :goodvibes

I had the filshie clips too- but my dr said that they were more reversible than the other type of TL. Which has always scared me senseless. I keep an unopened pregnancy test in my bathroom cabinet, b/c I have always said that DH could be in the other room and sneeze- and one of his boys would somehow find it's way to me. :rotfl: None of our kids were planned.:worried:

Boy, am I happy to be reading this thread this morning!!:headache:

I had a tubal 4+ years ago during my c/s after my daughter was born. We have three kids.

I would have heart failure if I found out I was ever pregnant again!

My doctor told me when I had mine that if I had another after that HE would pay for it! I told him something along the lines that He sure would support that kid!:rotfl2:

However, he's been lucky so far....the youngest is now 14. :lmao:

I had mine done right after the birth of my daughter in '99 and my doctor said that there was no way I was getting pregnant because "they" would have to jump in order for it to happen. I assume he did an excellent job! LOL

Anyway, he said to me, "If you get pregnant, don't call me, call a priest because it will be a miracle of God" :rotfl2:

Ive had my tubes tied and DH had a vasectomy.. But I now wish I could have another baby..

I had my tubes tied after I had DD10 and now that me and DH have found each other Im sad that we wont be having any children together.. I wish that little miracle would happen to us..

Sorry to dig this thread up again, but I have my tubal scheduled for 10 days from now. I'm very happy to be doing something permanent. ...........At least I hope it's permanent.:scared1:

I've taken at least a dozen since my tubal 5 years ago! DH and I had unprotected sex 4 times, and ended up with 5 babies - I'm now on BCP's also! :rotfl2:

One of the moms from my youngests class had babies 14 months apart, the youngest after her tubes were tied. She was not a happy mommy!

My GYN doesn't like to do tubals at the same time as childbirth--he said that there is a higher failure rate. He prefers patients to come back at least 6 weeks after the birth to have the procedure done.

Mine said the exact same thing. She said while your body is healing from child birth the tubes can heal as well.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Oh I so did not need to hear this. I just had my tubes tied in March and like MeanQueen, the last, and only, one nearly killed me.

Mine has been a little over 15years and no ooooops for me. My doctor did go over the whole "it is not 100 % sure, nothing is" speech. But he pretty much did a number on them so there was no chance of the surgery reversing. As a matter of fact he told me that if I wasn't 110% sure I wan't no more kids he would not do it, because when he does it there are not able to do reversals. I guess he was right.

I think I am pretty safe now also. I had mine cut, tied, and burned during the c-section surgery for my youngest DD. The dr went over the risks including pregnancy after its done early on and again when I was signing all the papers before going into the OR. He said the risk was small because he does all 3 and was not going to be reversable but there is always a risk of pregnancy. I told him to make sure it worked because if it didn't he was raising the baby. I am another one of the women who only needs there DH to look at them and they're pregnant. I think it worked though because DD is almost 22.

This is why the man should always be the one to get fixed. A test can tell is the procedure was successful.

Our chaplin's wife had her tubes tied and her husband, our chaplin, had a vesectomy. She gave birth last month to boy #6. I would be cutting snipping double knotting and burning.

Dang. I bet that's going to be one stubborn kid!!:lmao: :lmao:
