Had to Book Sports - Is it really that Bad?

I was wondering if they are putting up the divider curtain by the bathrooms in the rooms that they are refurbishing?

Apart from the theming, I don't see a huge different in the All Stars. We stayed at Sports once back in 2003. The hotel itself was fine, but our trip was during the Pop Warner competitions, so we didn't have the greatest experience. Still, if Sports was our only option, we would happily go back.

If we have to stay at the All Stars, we'll only go to Sports. DS said we have to. We stayed in the baseball section and LOVED it! Quiet pool, by the laundry room, room faced ASMu so it was quiet. It rocked!!

We stayed at Sports in 2000 and really liked it - no problems at all. At that time, we didn't have kids so all we really wanted was a comfortable place on site to sleep. We did the parks/DTD commando style - up early and out late, and Sports was more than adequate for this. The room was clean, the transportation was great, the theming was cool. Obviously, things could have gotten "shabby" since, but I would not hesitate to stay there again given our previous experience.

I used to stay at Sports ALL the time, requested Building 10 near the food court. When POP came along, I forgot all about it, but now realize Sports is closer to AK and Blizzard Beach. I will be staying there after a 5 year hiatus.

I have never stayed at the All Star Sports, but enjoyed my stay at Pop Century in 2005. Of course the rooms at PC are fairly new with the resort just opening up in December of 2003. I know that they are updateing the rooms at the other values, but don't know if that includes All Star Sports. I would have a wonderful time anywhere as long as it was on WDW's property. Have a wonderfl time.

All Star Sports is slated to be refubished between June and Novenber of this year (2007).

All Star Music is undergoing a refurbishment of all of the rooms and is slated to be completed by June 2007.

The Calypso and Jazz buildings are completed and the last I heard they are working on the Broadway Buildings.

We have stayed at all of the All-Star Resorts as well as the Pop Century Resort. We loved them for their values. The rooms were simply decorated, but enough to make you feel you're in Disney. There's always people out there who absolutely hated the value regardless. For us, we would rather use the extra money saved to indulge on other stuff. Like the other post said, it is what you made out of your vacation that counts the most.... so lighten up your expectation....
