Had to move our trip up to next week and was forced to book All Star Sports. Are we going to be miserable? We had originally booked Pop.

Thanks.

I haven't been to Sports since 2003. It was our first time staying on grounds and we were just thrilled to be there. My DS loved the themeing. We stayed in the preferred section so everything was close. I have been at ASMO & ASMU more recently and they were both great. I don't think you will hate it. I've never done it, but I have also heard you can use the pools, foodcourts and bus stops at the other All Stars if you need to.

To me, there is no real difference between the All Star resorts. I've stayed in Sports and Music, and visited Movies. The icons are different, but the rooms, food courts, pools, etc. are all the same to us. So, if you like one, you should like any of them.

Thanks. I have stayed at ASMu and Pop so I know what to expect from a Value but I am troubled by the reports of unclean rooms etc.

we are int eh same boat, POP was booked so we did a fall back to ASsports... I have been hearing a lot of the same reviews, for warned is for armed... if the room is a wreck when we get there, I'll be singing loud and proud to management.

The trip is what you make of it. What one person views as terrible service, another can think it's no big deal. Afterall, you'll be at Disney! Hope you have fun!

We stayed at sports in 2001 (our first trip)and LOVED it! My Son was thrilled. It was perfect for us. I had NO.. and I mean NO complaints, but I am very greatful to be able to go to disney-we have only been twice, and have to save $$$ a long time to be able to go, so I am not too picky about the resort as long as Im at disney. I'm sure if your use to staying at delux or moderates there may be a chance that you wont like it as well. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!

We have stayed there twice and never had a problem! When we called for extra pillows & towels they came right away. Just relax and enjoy!!!!!!

I have never stayed at the All Star Sports, but enjoyed my stay at Pop Century in 2005. Of course the rooms at PC are fairly new with the resort just opening up in December of 2003. I know that they are updateing the rooms at the other values, but don't know if that includes All Star Sports. I would have a wonderful time anywhere as long as it was on WDW's property. Have a wonderfl time. :)

I loved our stay at Sports in October of 2005. We were there for my son's birthday and he got to pick the resort. I was a bit bummed, I really wanted to go with Movies or Music but I ended up loving Sports. I thought the food court was great. And our rooms were spotless, just like the ones we have had at the other All Stars and Pop. I thought the theming was really cool, I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would. We stayed two nights there then headed over to Saratoga Springs for our first visit "home". And that was great too, but I think we all sort of missed Sports too in a way! And we had a preferred room at the back of that building, it was perfect, nice and close and extremely quiet. If you liked the other values, I cannot imagine you won't love Sports too!

Hi,
I've stayed there 2X (1997 & 2006) and had good experiences both times. I know many people request the preferred rooms, but at Sports my favorite section by far is the baseball section. It is right at the "quiet" pool, which I found more enjoyable than the main pool. Have fun!

We had originally booked our usual PoP on our last trip but moved our trip up a week and ended up with Sports. I was hesitant too but we ended up really enjoying it. It's the first one so first on and first off the bus, it's small enough where no room is to far away... I really liked it. You will to!

We just got back from a short Memorial Day weekend trip to Sports. I found it to be looking very dirty and shabby. For instance, the tiles in the food court "looked" filthy however I know they were just stained and were in fact, clean...but the appearance left alot to be desired. The room itself looked old, esp. the bedspread but I'd have to say that the bed there was much more comfortable than the ones at Pop which I found to be very hard. The first day we left the room early and came back to rest around 3:30 and our room still had not been cleaned- kind of a bummer since the mousekeeper was right outside our door when we left in the morning and saw us leaving. I guess it was a busy weekend though and we weren't on her schedule til later. Despite looking a bit shabby we always ran into very pleasant CM's, which to me is more important than anything else. I want to be treated well and greeted with a smile. I also think I might not have noticed the condition of the room so much if we hadn't stayed earlier this month for a few days at ASMusic where the rooms have just been re-done and are gorgeous. I didn't have a choice this time either as it was a last minute situation but if I *did* have the choice, I'd not pick Sports. ---Kathy

i have stayed at the All Stars and Pop. Both were clean. For me, when we can't afford a deluxe, i stay onsite at a value mainly because I know that a Disney Hotel will be clean verses the uncertainty of offsite accomodations. Things like this lead me to wonder if that is true anymore.

I am a calm person -- but if my room was not clean I believe I would literally throw a fit at the front desk. 120 bucks a night should at the very least get you a clean room. :headache:

We liked Sports better than POP! Everything about it ... room cleanliness, grounds, etc. was up to Disney standards. As it was at POP also, but we had such a great, magical feel at Sports ... not so much at POP.

I prefer all of the AllStars to Pop. I just like the theming better and the resorts are a little smaller. If the room is not up to par when you arrive just go back to the desk and ask to be moved. I was not happy with my room last year at Movies and I asked to be switched. It was done with no problems. Then we had a great stay. I have stayed at Sports before and had no problems. :yay::cheer2::tigger:

I have stayed at Sports 7 times and have yet to feel miserable there.:) It will be even better in the near future-they are refurbishing ALL rooms at Sports beginning yesterday and ending in November.:)

We stayed at All Star Sports during Memorial Day weekend 06 and loved it!! My DS and DH are huge sports fans and they really enjoyed the huge sports icons and the theme. Our rooms were clean, mousekeeping was great even left some towel animals, food court was good, and it was a huge plus being the first drop off and pick up for the busses:thumbsup2 . We thought about trying something different for our up coming trip but DS really wanted to stay at Sports again so we are in just 10 days!!:woohoo: We thought it was a great resort. After reading some of the reviews about Sports I almost changed our ressie but when we got there and my DS saw those icons I was sooo glad we stayed:cloud9:

We stayed at ASMu last time and DH didn't really like it, but he says he wants to stay at Sports sometime. He's a big baseball fan and guess which section he wants to stay in? LOL

We love Sports. It is our 2nd favorite. If we can't stay at AKL, then the only other place we prefer to stay is Sports.
