Just got back from our vacation at Universal/suprise Disney. Kids really wanted to do Ollivanders and Husband wanted a challenge of getting chosen. On our seventh try and third time by the stairs. Both my kids got picked it was a double wand ceremony. It was very cool and made sure no fights among the siblings. Has anyone else ever seen a double ceremony?:cool1::cool1:

There is no Disney magic at Universal. What your family experienced was brought on by Mummy Dust which is much more powerful than the Pixie stuff down the road.

Disney magic at a Universal theme park? Don't be silly. ;)

The Wizarding World has plenty of magic all on its own.

I haven't seen a double ceremony but we did see a young mother of 3 get chosen once, much to the surprise of her and the kids!

Ok...what is this ceremony that you speak of??? I would love if my kids could do something at HP! My DD was chosen two years in a row at Beauty and the Beast to be the Princess. Please do share!

It's the wand ceremony at Ollivander's in the Harry Potter land.

Judging from where the mummy dust originates from, I may have to start dodging it! :rotfl2:

i was wondering who was gonna say that first......

i was trying to put the fw over the mummy but not enough coffee in my this morning to do it correctly

Sorry.

It looks great, but leave it to my twisted mind to point that out.

I've actually seen this happen as well. A lady was chosen, but she commented that she was only there in support of her friend, who was a huge Harry Potter fan. They were asked to come up, and both received wands :goodvibes

She called it a Wand Ceremony. What is that? Why are people chosen for it? I am so confused.:confused3 :lmao:

The storekeeper chooses a member of the small (25 people or so) audience and then goes through a spiel to figure out what wand is for them. He takes measurements and asks their birthday. He gives them a wand and asks them to do a spell and it fails. He tries a new wand and asks them to do a spell and it fails. Then he gives them another wand and wind, light and music come up and of course the wand has chosen them. The shopkeeper's assistant takes them into one of the other rooms to see if they want to purchase the wand and the show is over and the rest of the audience follows them into the wand shop.

This will help. :thumbsup2

Go to YouTube and type "Ollivander's Wand Shop show at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter" in the search bar. I would post it but I don't have the ability yet.

Oh fun! DD isn't a big HP fan, but DS is. Maybe he will get picked for that. That sounds like it is a lot of fun. We will definately check it out! Thanks for the info!

Just so's you know, the line for this 5 minute show can get loooooong. It's a standing room only show and if you aren't the 1 of 25 choose, it's kind of a let down if you've been in line for an hour. Particularly since you can get into the wand shop via the other entrance to buy wands.

We skipped it the first day because the line was so long and made a bee line for it the second day so we didn't have to wait in line. I don't think it's a show warranting an hour wait unless you're a true Potterhead.

I just read that about the wait in another post. I think we will make a beeline for that place during EE when we go. Thankfully we are going during a slow time!

Yes, yes, Ollivander's first.

I need to buy stock in Ollivander's or something. I've become their shill.
