:) Boy did I get a chatty one! :lmao:

So I worked up the nerve to call to see if I had a pin - I knew deep down that I wouldn't have one, but I thought "What could it hurt?"

I devised a plan before calling that I was really calling with questions about my ressie and then I would swing the convo around to pin's. Lame I know, but for some reason I am scared to just ask outright "Do I have a pin" :rotfl:

He was so helpful and had me go the website while we were talking and showed me all sorts of things that my kids would be interested in, he talked about his kids, where they stay, what they do when they go etc......

He said I don't have any discounts on my account, but to keep checking the website for new promo's from Disney. He said specifically to check around June for a big Fall promo. He told me to check around May 1st for MNSSHP tickets and information and told me I have to get tickets, it's not an option not too and he would be very disappointed if I didn't :lmao:

He also told me about a place called Disboards that has a ton of information from real Disney fans, but to watch out because they sometime's get false information there :rotfl2:

So in the end my phone call to see if I had any pins resulted in NO pins and probably a $10.00 phone bill

"Big fall promo in June" hey? Wow.. that'd be even later than my 'nightmare scenario' predicts..

Oy!

I definitely CAN'T handle another 2 months of this! Haha.

Oh right.. I'm at Disney June 1 to 9 .. NVM. :)

Lynne? My co-mod? You out there? This will your prob first 2 weeks of June.

I'm not convinced that CM's on the Disney reservation phones are privy to what specials are coming up. I think they hear rumors spread around the same as disboarders or anyone else do! Each week a CM seems to say something different than a different CM the week prior.

Does sound like you had a great CM willing to help you out any way they could. I've had some great CM's and some downright rude and unhelpful CM's over the years.

Disney maybe delaying fall promos because of low summer bookings thinking people will change their plans from summer to fall. Maybe so but I also think that if Disney delays too long people will decide to book their fall vacation elsewhere as many like to make plans well in advance considering airfare etc.

That wait continues!!

I am convinced that CMs that purposely mention the disboard and a rumored discount in the near future with in the same telephone convo do it to toy with us as some sort of cruel punishment hehe.

I think some CMs have figured out that people who are calling asking about PINs are probably DISboarders. I mean, c’mon, who else would randomly call Disney and ask if they had a PIN? And it only takes one or two to start spreading things like “hey did you go out to DISboards and check out all the talk about PINs and Free Dining, etc, etc. I am sure there are a few if not several who know exactly who we are…:lmao:

Wow! June! That would be crazy! My house is going to be a dirty mess by then because I can't peel myself away from the computer waiting for the fall promo:sad2:

I called this morning also. Had a very nice CM she wasnt quite as chatty as yours but very nice she checked and my husband DOES have a pin attached to his name but it expires Aug 14 and we are going Aug 29. She said the CM's are not given any info until maybe a day before the offer is released and even then they are not allowed to release that info but she DID say to keep checking the website for a new deal. HOPING for something good!!!

And we'll be right there with him. :lmao:

PIN? PIN? PIN!! (think the seagulls from Finding Nemo) :dance3:

Haha ! That made such a perfect image in my mind! lol I think we have all been acting like those seagulls!

I guess the one thing to remember is that a company has specials to sell something not selling. WDW does have AP and GP specials running through Aug 14. I know the past few years free dining has been released in April but there's no guarantee. Waiting until June for a Sept/Oct special really isn't that big of a deal. With AP discounts, usually it's released a month or 2 before the dates. I think we have just become used to what WDW did for a few years. I seem to recall the first years it was released, it was a little later because my kids had rooms at CBR booked in Sept and it was early summer when they found out about free dining.

Maybe if people don't have a life! We have six people's work and school schedules to work around - we can't plan a vacation with only a 2 month window (we need late August).

The CM I spoke to this morning told me to ALWAYS ask for the CM to check my "Mickey Portfolio" - She said this is where any discounts that may apply to you will be. I guess that is just what they call it.

I agree! We are a small family AND we will not plan a vacation in a 2 month window either. We love love love Disney, but are actually thinking and looking into some other things to do in Orlando now. The wait for the promo has us thinking twice and we might like to try something new now....

Hot Mama, have you ever tried Busch Gardens? We're debating trying that if the free dining doesn't come out in the next week. There's a great package deal with Discovery Cove, Sea World, etc, that is very reasonable. I'm too afraid of the Harry Potter crowds, but may head to Tampa. We can rent a reasonable 2 bedroom condo near Clearwater and drive an hour to Busch Gardens.

Have you ever been to Busch Gardens in Tampa? I went a few years ago and it was HORRIBLE. The place was nasty, the scenery was NOT appealing...the food was gross...the whole place was just a mess. Now the one in Virginia is awesome...but Tampa is just not so great!! Now if you have been and you liked it...ignore my comment lol Just don't want you to miss out on Disney World and be disappointed when you go to BG Tampa!

We have never been to Busch Gardens. The last 5 years we have been dedicated to Disney every vacation. I will look into it while I'm checking out the other fun things to do around Orlando. I'm sure when I do the research and get other great plans ready Disney will come out with a fab fall promo:)

Does anyone else think that the opening of WWOHP will hurt our chances for a good fall promo? Maybe I'm thinking in reverse. I think more people will plan combine trips and up demand. However, I don't see the economy improving anytime soon.

Poor Knox is gonna be admitted to the psych ward soon. :lmao:

You are working on the assumption I'm not already posting from a safe secure environment where they watch over my safety.. :)

If I eat all my peas, I'm promised another hour of DIS time. (LOL)

Disney is nuts if they think people will wait till June to book a vacation!

Remember, the first year that F/D came out - it came out in June.

Hurt them or improve them?
