Had a problem waitress at Blue Bayou- rant

"my dd is allergic to celery"

Sorry you had bad waitress. We were there in December and had a very nice waiter. next time you go to Disney, tell them that your child is allergic. If you are making a PS, have the castmember who is doing it put it on the PS. This information will go to the chef. Disney is very good about food allergies and trying to offer options.

Sorry you had a bad experience. The reviews are a little too mixed for me to give BB a whirl. I will just continue to go to Cafe Orleans for my monte cristos for now.

Yeah, that would really make me mad, too!! I think you handled it well, however.

One little thing...hope you don't think I'm picking on you but I would really be bugged if a kid next to me was popping up and down a million times to wave to the boats going by. I wouldn't say anything, but it would sure bug me. Just saying that because you maybe thought others didn't mind when your son was doing this and they actually might have been very bothered. I would see it as the server's right, if they chose, to try to curtail something like that to try and keep it pleasant for all diners.

As far as BB goes, I love the place. I go there every trip and it's always been fun for me. I've never had the bad experiences others have talked about at BB but I did have one like that at Cafe Orleans so I know how that can really sour your attitude toward the restaurant.

Now I'll tell you my Bad Mommy moment in case I came off a little holier-than-thou up above...we sat down to eat our lunch at the Mexican restaurant next to BTMRR (can't think of the name--I think it's Rancho del Zocalo?) and my dd (4) started whining about something. I told her to stop whining and tell me what was wrong which was when I could make out the word "potty" just as she began to pee her pants. ALL over her chair, under our table, not to mention her clothing. :scared1: I'd like to say I cleaned it up or told someone in charge but I just grabbed a bunch of napkins, laid them on the puddles and ran

As a mom this made me gut myself laughing, I have soooo been there!! There are plenty of things I think we've all done that we're not so proud of, but that doesnt mean you cant look back and laugh :rotfl2:

I've only had bad service once in my life and it was the strangest thing. We had just sat down and cracked the menu when the waitress turned around from the neighboring table to take our food order. My husband told her that we needed a minute, and her response was, "Well, most of my customers know what they want when they sit down." I chuckled, thinking she was joking since she knew we'd just sat down thirty seconds before. But when I looked up, she was glaring at me. She wasn't joking. It went downhill from there. We got the manager right away, but it didn't do any good. It was packed, we were late for a movie, so we decided to grin and bear it. Never again. So I totally understand how bad service can turn you off to a place. And make you want to kvetch. See? I'm kvetching even now and it's five years later!

I'm glad the rest of your trip was good. As a PP said, you can always let the hostess and/or waitress know you have some food allergies. They take this uber seriously at DL and WDW. A chef will come out and make sure you get what you need. I would definitely write a letter as well. Disney is good about making things right.

This is hysterical! I'm sitting here wondering what in the heck I would do. I can just see the exchange.

Me: Can I get some towels for a spill?
Waitress: What kind of spill?
Me: Um, it's better if you didn't know.
Waitress: ???
Me: and you might want to get a hose.
Waitress: ???
Me: and you might want to burn that chair over there...

About her telling your DS to watch out: Perhaps if he had fallen off the chair and hit his head on the floor, at least then she can say that she tried to tell him to be careful and cover her own rear in that department. Yes, i know it's improbable, but you never know. I certainly wouldn't want to get in trouble because I didn't tell a kid to stay seated in their chair, and they ended up with a head injury. At least at the end of the day, she did try to speak up as far as that is concerned.

She was a witch with a broom stick bugging her. If indeed she was trying to help my son or help the other customers, she could have said it many other ways than "Watch out". And if thats the nicest she can talk to a customer, she should be working for a ditch digger and not a Disney establishment.

:rotfl2: That reminds me of our dinner at Jazz Kitchen last month. We had 4 kids with us and 3 of them ended up spilling their drinks everywhere at various times during the meal. Then the youngest one threw up. I don't think he was sick, i think it was just the combo of junk food and excitement. Anyway, the waitress comes over and says "do you guys need to go?" :rotfl2: It seemed more like a request than a question. I actually was not ready to go because i was still trying to enjoy my nice meal. The night before, my DS was having trouble at the restaurant so I had to rush through my dinner so I was having a nice enjoyable meal this night since DS was doing pretty good.

OP, sorry you had such a bad experience at the BB. Service should be good at any restaurant but when you're paying that much (and especially at the happiest place on earth), you would think the service would be outstanding.

Thanks for more chuckles! I can totally relate. Good job for keeping your head and sticking it out!
