Had a great trip. Here's my review of HOJO with a few pictures.

Yes, thank you for the information. We are going to disneyland this friday and it's a first for our 2 year old. She's gonna love it!!!

Also a first for us as a family. And none of us have seen dl in christmas fashion!

We were there the very same dates as disney-super-mom and had a lovely room in building 2 overlooking the quiet pool. No highway noise at all, in fact it was a very quiet and serene location. I definitely recommend requesting building 2 at the Hojo! I requested a quiet room at check in and this was accommodated with no problem.

Here's a few more pictures.

Again, not that big of a deal, but ya know......it should be taken care of.:rolleyes1

Hello Super Mom,

You are absolutely right- it should have been taken care of, and I'm very sorry that it wasn't. We have received so many positive reviews about the cleanliness of our hotel and the appearance of our rooms, and we are embarrassed that you had this experience! It is definitely not reflective of our hotel policy and practices, nor the level of care and attention that we strive to provide to you, our guest.

I brought this issue to the attention of our General Manager, and he has discussed this issue with our Head of Housekeeping. They are both now aware of this problem, and are currently taking the necessary steps to correct it and to prevent it from happening again in the future.

Again, I would like to apologize to you and your family on behalf of the hotel and to thank you so much for bringing this to our attention and giving us a chance to amend this! We are enthusiastically committed to guest satisfaction, and we always want to be a positive part of your Disneyland experience.

If there is anything that I might be able to help you with, or if you have any other questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to let me know! I would be more than happy to help in any way that I can.

Regards,

Lorealle

Wow, Lorealle... your post makes me feel very comfortable about my hotel choice. See ya on the 10th!

(also: it's good to see a hotelier monitoring a board like this, and acting upon the feedback provided... very smart move. Bravo!)

Hi Lorealle good to see Hotel management taking an interest in these discussion boards. Is there any chance of setting up a DISers rate in view of the all the good feedback we give your hotel on this site?

We're so glad that you're going to be coming to stay with us! Have a safe trip, and don't forget to let me know if there is anything I can help you with!

That's a great idea, kiwitravel! I just spoke with our GM, and you'll be very happy to know that we are in the process of setting up this discount right now! It should be up and running by the end of next week!

Wow, thanks Lorealle for taking the time to respond to this post.

I'm glad to see that management and housekeeping is taking care of the problem for future guests. I've always felt (and still do) that the HOJO is one of the cleanest and best managed properties in the area, and your response proves this point even more.

As repeat customers who have always received great service from you and the HOJO team, we highly recommend the HOJO to others, and we'll certainly be back in the future.:thumbsup2

My only question is, what are the chances of the HOJO getting a pool slide in the future, perhaps by next year? (hint, hint, wink, wink) Sorry, but I had to ask.:goodvibes:rolleyes1

Thanks again Lorealle and have a great holiday season,

Justin and Capri Sexton

WOW! That's awesome! My entire family is planning a trip next year and this alone may convince them to stay with you :)

We just got back from Disneyland and stayed at the HoJo. My overall experience with the HoJo was good but..... we had the unfortunate luck of having a room with ants! And the ants got into our breakfast items which was so frustrating since I was trying to save money by eating breakfast in our room. The location of the hotel was perfect and the room is quite large, but the bug problem just put a damper on my stay.

Very sorry to hear that you had an ant problem that got into your breakfast food, ChereeCA! Did you call housekeeping or ask to be moved?

We've stayed at the HoJo 3 times now and are thinking of another trip sometime this winter. It's nice to know that they monitor these boards for reviews. We have always enjoyed our stays there and so far, have been granted our request for a room in the tower facing the quiet pool.

We are staying at HOJO for our second trip in just 2 weeks. We had a great experience the first time this past March and thought about trying somewhere else this time. But I just couldn't beat the price and knowing that it was a clean room and nice pool set up (thought it will likely be too cold to use it on our trip.)

I was impressed last time and this time that they let me have a park view room (similar to the ones shown) for no extra charge-awesome!

I agree that the only thing I'd change is to add breakfast ;)

You know, if Hojo's had a free continental breakfast I'd probably book them every time because they have the most kid friendly, wonderful pool and a hot tub too! It's the lack of breakfast that really makes me think twice (and the walk that feels a tad long at the end of the day).

Yes, I suppose I could buy breakfast items and keep them in my room. The rooms do have a fridge if I remember correctly. A microwave would help as we could do instant oatmeal in the morning.

Is there a reason Hojo's doesn't do Cont breakfast??

I would like to know this as well.. we will be staying at the HOJO in 12 days. was wondering if there was a microwave or a in-room safe.

We did instant oatmeal in the morning when we stayed there in October. All rooms have a coffee maker, so we just ran water through the coffee maker so it was good and hot, and then we poured it into a bowl with the instant oatmeal and stirred. It worked perfectly. We also did this a few times for those instant Cup of Noodles.:thumbsup2

The only thing we wanted a microwave for when we stayed there was to heat up our leftovers from area restaurants.:goodvibes

Of course now there's the Jimmy Dean Breakfast bowls. A microwave would be great for those.

What are you guys doing taking pictures of the hotel while the park is open? ha ha .....I would be in there having fun.

I know you were probably checking in huh?

You guys are great! So much creative feedback! I love it!

I compiled a list of all of your suggestions, and had a talk with our GM this afternoon. Here is quick recap of what we talked about:

1. The Big Breakfast Debate- Our standards here at the HoJo are really high. When we set out to do something- we want to do it the very best that we possibly can. We don't feel that we have the facilities or the experience in Food Service Preparation to give our guests the kind of Continental Breakfast experience that we would want to- which is why we've stocked up our Gift Shop with lots of quick breakfast items. It is also why we brought Mimi's in right across the street- they have such an extensive menu with generous portions at reasonable prices, and we are not going to be able to compete with that- so we don't.

2. The Microwave Debate- This is an issue that our GM has been thinking about for a little while. We are looking at getting microwaves into more of our rooms, and we are also looking at restructuring the layout of our Gift Shop so that we can have room to put a microwave there that all of our guests can have access to. The issue right now is finding out what we need to do in order to get the microwaves into the rooms without blowing any circuits- which is why we have not done it up to this point, and which is why it's a little bit scary to hear that some of you guys have been bringing microwaves into rooms that are not equipped to handle them! I can definitely understand how much more convenient a microwave makes things- and I am absolutely championing the cause for you- but if you could do me a personal favor in the interim and refrain from rigging up a microwave yourself in your room, for your safety and for the safety of all of our other guests- I would really appreciate it. And I promise, in return, I will keep checking on the status/progress of getting the microwave situation sorted as quickly as possible.

Also, if there are any other questions, concerns or suggestions that you have- I would love to hear them! Feel free to email me at Lorealle.Bishop@hojoanaheim.com. You guys have been amazing so far, and I'd love to hear whatever else you're able to come up with!

Regards,
Lorealle

^ The HoJo provides free High Speed internet access, IF you bring your laptop computer. They provide a standard Ethernet cable in your room to connect to your laptop computer. It worked very well when I stayed there last October.

As far as providing computers to access the internet, I'm not aware of any, but maybe someone else can chime in.
