It is very interesting that people have such different experiences when visiting Disney World. We went from May 2-9 and it was our best trip yet.

First of all the weather was beautiful and given that we had 8 park days it allowed us to take our time in the parks and enjoy a lot of time relaxing by the pool as well.

we had plenty of time to do our favorite rides at Magic Kingdom over and over. We rode SDMT 4 times (2 with fast passes and two at rope drop). On Sunday May 3 we had an 8 am ADR at Crystal Palace and were done by 8:45 - the place was empty! Our plan was to do most of Fantasyland that day. The wait times were so low we were constantly replacing FP onmy phone and didn't end up using three. On Saturday May 9 we arrived at MK right before the park opened at 8am. Rode SDMT (without FP), Jungle Cruise, Splash Mountain, BTMRR 3times (one with FP) Splash MTn (FP+) all by 10:30. After a lunch at BOG we rode barnstormer and space mtn/Buzz (FP which we switched to that morning) (split up for different kids). We were in line for the bus back to the resort by 1:15. We were able to do BTMRR /Splash Mtn twice each on another day too (I think Wednesday).

We did everything we wanted to in the other parks as well by arriving early and using FP+... but we usually weren't able to experience our favorites there more than once. Since we stayed at the YC we did go into the world showcase a lot more than previous trips. My kids loved the Phineas and Ferb adventures!

WE were able to experience a lot of new things this trip too. Now that our kids are a little older we did wishes, Fantasmic and illuminations for the first time. I loved doing the Fantasmic dinner package - we ate at Mama Melrose and except for the fact that they were running late with ADRs the meal was very nice. And I loved having that center view. We also did a wishes FP. Facing the castle we were on the right side (so that we could have a quick exit afterwards). It was practically empty. The kids were able to run around and play and we were ablet o get a decent view for the parade and a great view of the fireworks!

I wish that every trip could be this perfect!

Out of curiosity, in a different thread it seems that a lot of DIS'ers travelled in the same period but experiences about crowd levels differ, may I ask which park you visited on which day?

Saturday May 2 MK
SUNDAY MAY 3 MK
Monday may 4 Epcot/ HS evening
Tuesday may 5 MK (afternoon/evening)
Wednesday may 6 MK/ Epcot world showcase evening
Thursday may 7 ak
Friday may 8 HS/ Epcot world showcase evening
SATURDAY MAY 9 MK

We in no way did any full days. The crowds were heavier than I remember from previous years at this time.... BUT we still found them light earlier in the day. The heaviest morning crowds was our Epcot day. The other days we were able to do a lot before the crowds got too heavy in the afternoon and then left the parks to enjoy the pool. Our afternoon/evening at MK we watched the 3 pm parade, used our FP and had dinner, watched evening parade and fireworks. We didn't really expect to do anything else and that was fine. The other evenings we didn't do rides.
