Just wanted to say that we had our first Disneyland Paris trip a few weeks ago and wow...it blows WDW out of the water!

It's much smaller of course, but much more charming as well. Plus the setting (France) just fits so much better with the fairy-tails and fantasy than the hot Orlando heat does.

We've been to WDW quite a few times, but our time at Disneyland Paris was hands down the best Disney experience we've ever had. If anyone on here is on the fence about going, don't hesitate, you will have a wonderful time!

We only spent one day in the parks (our France trip was basically a road trip around France so Disney wasn't the intended destination but a mere pit stop) but it was one of those rare, perfect days. We were there on Saint Patricks Day and walked onto every ride. Crowds were low and the weather was a bit chilly, but that's my preference.

The park seems to be much better maintained than WDW. Plus it seems like they spent more and went all out at DLP. We were blow away by how much better the overall appeal of the park is. It's a Small World has always been my Hubbies least favorite ride and he actually enjoyed in at DLP...it's amazing how much nicer it is there!

Our 5 year old DS said it was "the best Disney place ever!"

My only complaint is that restrooms were not nearly as easy to come by as they are in WDW. But the restroom thing was pretty much an issue all throughout France...they are definitely easier to come by here in the states.

My one regret is that we completely forgot to do a walk through of the castle! We had planned on doing that last but by the end of the day we were exhausted and it slipped our minds. That was one of the things I had been looking forward to the most. But that's just a reason for us to go back some day. :-)

Also good to see a positive comparison to WDW. Both have plus points in my book, but you can't beat DLP on a sunny spring day.;)

Glad to hear you so enjoyed it :-) It always makes me sad when people don't like "my" Disney:guilty:

While we will always love WDW, there is no denying that DLP is something extra special. I envy all you European people who live so close by! :-)

Awesome to hear your trip was so special. We are looking forward to a visit later this summer and hope to recreate your good luck and visit. Thanks for sharing!

Glad you enjoyed your trip :)

So glad to read this! We leave tomorrow for Paris (one day in DLRP). Except you confirmed what I am losing sleep over- hard to find bathrooms! Haha, this is my biggest worry of the trip. DS is 2.5 and potty trained, but needs to go when he needs to go and I am pregnant, so I feel like we will be constantly on a bathroom hunt!

Did you do both parks in one day or just Disneyland?

Lovely to read, glad you had a good time :)

Great to hear you had a good time and that it compared favourably to WDW (which doesn't often happen!).

There is one bathroom in each land, if not more, but a couple of them are quite tucked away. The nicest ones are in Videopolis and the Disneyland Hotel (round to the right after you go through the doors).

there are actually loads of toilet blocks in DLP and the Studios park - but you're right, quite a few are tucked away (and therefore are the better ones to head for as they are less busy and therefore cleaner). All the toilets are marked on the park map.

Sounds good! Now can you also tell me where all the good toilets are in the city of Paris? I wish there was a map for that :rotfl:

That was so nice to read :goodvibes and I agree, it's always good to forget to do something as then you have a very valid reason to return! ;)

:lmao:

Department stores are always your best bet, and there are public toilets in both Tuileries and Luxembourg Gardens although as I've not used them myself I can't vouch for them. There are nice ones at the entrance to the Louvre (no need to go inside), the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe - and don't forget good old McDonalds, always there for anyone to fall back on! ;)

Have you had a look on Trip Advisor as there may be a list of good ones in their Paris forum?

Sooooo nice to hear this type of report!!!

Funnily enough, this is one of our 'safe' toilet options when driving through France! ;)

Lovely to read you had a great trip. We always found the toilets by Bella Notte to be in fairly good condition but plenty that weren't so good.

So glad you enjoyed the park. :goodvibes Good to read your positive review. We will be going for a 2 day visit at the end of August. :woohoo: It made my day to hear that it is even better than WDW! We have only been to WDW twice. It is not our favorite park because it was just too big and spread out and had horribly hot weather. :( We actually are in love with Disneyland in California. A large part of the reason sounds similar to your description of DLP being smaller with more charm. We simply love the cozy, more intimate feel of DL compared to WDW so I'm hoping that DLP will be right up our alley! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the heads up on the tricky to find restrooms. Sounds like I better get myself a map and start making notes! lol!

Great to hear you had a good trip and compared dlrp favourably to Wdw!

Lol to a list of nice toilets!!!! We are all the same. In cities I always try to use hotel facilities lol I know every nice toilet in Dublin city! ;-)
